《Lucky Me!》Chapter 2: Instinct

I open my eyes and just couldn’t believe it. I noticed that I was in middle of a road that spreads to my left and right with many trees front of me. When I say many, there seems to be endless amount of them. There was so many tress that I came to assume that I’m either located deep inside of forest with one way path or deep in the mountains where one may never make it out alive.
I looked around in confusion and I notice an old carriage. Because it looked so worn out, one may question whether if it was possible to even ride on the carriage. It seemed like there were about 6 people near carriage. These people looked to be about 20-30 years old and each of them carried swords or daggers with scabbards on their sides. Their clothes seems to be made out of animal leathers but it looked to be worn out. They also had these brown bandanas on their head. They look a bit out of place but if I were to compare them to someone or something, they would be the bandits in role playing games. Out of the 6 people 1 of them had fancier clothing. He was wearing a bright yellow suit. It didn’t look good as a tuxedo but it did indeed resemble a suit. What a terrible choice of color. These people are suspicious. Suspicious I tell you. I don’t know anymore. I continued to observe.
The distance between me and them weren’t too far off. I say it’s about the length of end of MTA bus to the entrance of the bus. About 20M? I’m assuming. Anyways, I noticed that one of the leather clothed guy that looked like a bandit was chatting with the guy that was wearing suit, but I can’t understand any of it.
(Fuck, we summoned a male. He is not going to be worth anything unless he has unique skill with him. Does this guy have any unique ability?) Said the bandit in irritated voice.

(Yes, He does have a unique skill. Most people whom are summoned here possesses at least one unique skill.)(Suit Guy)
(Do you know what kind of ability he is possessing?)(Bandit)
(No, this magic artifact does not have ability to recognize what kind of ability the person has. Rather, it only glows to indicate that the person possesses it.)(Suit Guy)
(He better be worth more than the money that I invested into summoning him. Do you know how much money the summoning materials were? And hiring you? The middle man to summon them. ((Even though half of it I got it from robbing one of the nobles.))) (Bandit)
(No need to worry too much. You will definitely be able to make back all of your sums and even more. Nobles love having unique ability users as their slaves due to the power of unique abilities, or even perhaps you can make him your slave and obtain a powerful ally.)(Suit Guy)
(I’ll think about it after. Hey! You bunch over there! Grab him and put him in the cage! And hurry we don’t have all day.)(Bandit)
The bandit who seems to be the head commands the 2 men who are near him with authority, and walked to the front of the carriage with the man who wore the suit.
The 2 men who were ordered quickly ran to the boy and grabbed him by the arms. The boy was startled when they approached him. Then he started to panic and started to throw ruckus.
“What the hell! Hey! Let me go! You Fools!”(Boy)
Because the boy was throwing such tantrum, the bandits that were holding him became irritated. They decided to kick the boy in the gut in order to shut him up.
(Shut your trap kid)(Bandit)
“Oof!”(Boy)
From the sudden hard kick I received, I gagged and lost balance. Fuck that hurts! Why the hell are they grabbing me for! Hello??? I think you got the wrong person. I didn't do anything bad in my life! I swear! Perhaps I’m being kidnapped? I don’t know anymore.

While I’m being dragged with force, I realized this is no longer a situation to be idly wonder where I was, and wonder who they are, rather what to do against these people that were forcefully dragging me to their carriage. As I got closer to the carriage I can see the mini cell that can fit animals or even a human being. Approaching the cell closer and closer, I have become even more paranoid inside my head. Seeing the cell made me think of all the obvious possibilities that might happen if I end up in there. I’m going to be either be sold to some people as a slave, or be tortured, lose all my organs and face death. You know I’m really afraid of people that collects organs to sell them. Apparently they happen a lot in Asia and tend to happen in NYC as well. The point is anything can happen if I don’t do anything right now. I don’t know where I am or who these people are but because they are a threat to me and my future I’m going to have to do something. I don’t want to die. Nobody wants to be tortured to death. Nobody wants to face limitation in their freedom. Many thoughts were quickly going through my mind, and the ones that seems to resonate strongest were these:
What did I do to deserve this?
I don’t want to die.
I don’t want to suffer.
I have to survive.
But how? They were still dragging me to their carriage. The seconds that passed while being dragged felt like eternity. I approached closer and closer to the cell. Wait! I do have a solution! I still have my handgun with me! Would the situation I’m in right now be considered as self-defense? No, No, Now is not the time to worry about such thing. This is just survival. It’s either to kill or to be killed. I wasn't too sure if my mind can handle the killing but I decided to act soon as possible because it was either now or never.
So then I decided act as if I didn’t have any more strength left. Being dragged as if I was a sandbag with decent amount of weight. As I got closer to the cell, one of the bandits on the side released my arm real quick and brought out shackles from the sides of the carriage, and that when I knew this was my chance. I’ll push him away far as possible and create space between us. As the bandit on my right was about to put them on me I pushed away the bandit as far as I can. The bandit on my right fell onto the floor dropping the shackles. The bandit on my left was left surprised and lost the strength of grip that he had on my left and my right arm. With this I created a small distance between me and the bandit on the left by pushing him with my body. We both fell on the ground. Then I quickly reached out to my pocket and pulled out my Glock 26 that I had with me. The bandit that I pushed down tried to get up in a hurry but I'm not going to give him the chance to.
Bang!
As the bullet pierced through his head, his body dropped like a ragdoll to the floor creating thud noise.

This project has no purpose
Summary: This is the story about the life of a "human" amidst a world that only appears to be earth at first glance. Long ago the face of this world resembled the typical tales of yore; of knights and fairies, swords and magic, however such an era has come and gone. Even the world of fantasy has progressed steadily into the modern epoch filled with the wonders of science and technology! In the ancient times a certain crisis had occured that lead to the quick decline of various magical species. Due to their low population and general incompatibility with the other races they could not crossbreed to save their numbers. Left with no other choice the major races of the world gathered together in an attempt to change the fate of this dying world. Their only hope was a special 'world-tier' magic known as 'the dusk of harmony'. The result of this magic would dissolve every race into their purest essences known as 'aspect' and instill them within the human population. The humans were the best choice as their numbers were numerous and form was similar to most races. As such, the various races of this world managed to save themselves in essence and soul only, though perhaps there was no other choice. With the various humans now carrying the weight and aspects of those who came before, life has continued onto the modern age. Yet, even amongst these hybrids 'Pures' emerge from time to time, beings who have inherited not only aspects of the ancient races, but their forms too. These Pures are often times exceptionally talented and seen as near deities. This is the story of a perculiar boy who is born with the soul of a stranger from the world known as 'Earth'. With the memories and soul of a human, he too is a rare Pure; a pure human. --- This project literally has no purpose and is being written because I felt like it. There isn't any semblance of a solid direction nor have I thought about any characters aside from the main character and a few auxiliary cast.
