It was going to be a normal day, or so i thought...

"Everyone, run! Monsters!"
The town's in chaos as a horde of monsters started to attack. The people started to ran away while the adventurers use the opportunity to earn some cash.
It was a sudden for us since May was still beating me up while the horde approaches us. She felt stiff as she couldn't move her body while the monsters were so close.
Ah, dammit!
"Crix...?"
If she dies or something, the king will send me back to hell. I aint going back there!
"Run! I don't want you to get hurt."
"..."
I went to face the monsters as i pick up a nearby sword that one of the adventurers drop. The adventurer ran away while forgetting his sword. Maybe i should use this opportunity to score som-
"Owowowowow. Why did you do that?"
"...idiot! I'm the hero right?
"..."
...Damn. but...
"And i'm the knight who will protect you. Got it."
"...Yeah."
She blush a little as she begins go grin while we face off the horde of monsters. We may not suvive this battle, but i, at least will protect the hero...

Well...that was anti-climatic.
There were many corpses around, monster corpses. The adventurers were shock as i had defeated some of the monsters. But as i turn around...
"My god..."
There were also monster corpses, but twice or thrice as much as mine. May brush off the blood as she begins to grin at me.
"Hehehe, i win."
Beautiful...
"Beautiful..."
"..."
What? You were beautiful. Why are you angry at me?
"Why can't you-"
"Watch ou-"
A beam of light appreared as i push May away. The beam pass though my chest as i begin to cough up blood. May became shocked as there was a hole through my stomach. A loud voice begins to laugh.

Before it could continue, it was cut in half as May glared at it with hate.
It didn't even finish his introduction and was kill of as if he was nothing. May rushes to me as her hand was covering the wound.
"Crix! Don't die!"

I was at a inn where there was the two of us. The room became awkward as i spoke first.
"Um...May?"

"About the thing you said,"

May begins to cry as i was about go repreat the word she said. She cover her ears as she didn't want to hear it. But i continued...
"'I love...'"
"Uuuuu..."
"'...Run?'"
"Eh?"
"You love running, right? Hahaha, i thought you said you love me. Hahah-"
"IDIOT! IDIOT! IDIOT! IDDDDDDIIIIIOOOOOOTTTTTTT!!!!!!!"
"Owowowowowowowowo, i still not recov-owowowow"

Troubles keep rising as i'm with her. But its fun to have someone that can adventure with. She was the hero who will save the world and i am just the knight that follows her in her journey. We will face all that as i will protect the hero. Thats how i protect a hero...

This is the end of the Htpah's arc. The first 5 chapters were short since i didn't now the basic length of a single chapter but as i wrote this, there was one thing on my mind...

Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them.
