《Legacy of U.L.T.R.A (dropped)》Chapter 3: Life

It has been a whole year since I was reborn into this world..and all is well so far.. I've decided to hold off on letting my parents know of my abilities.. I was gonna tell them on my birthday.. but it doesn't seem like they celebrate birthdays in this world.. After learning this I felt depressed for some unknown reason.. Its not like im gonna miss my cake.. and ice cream.. and gifts.. *sniffles*
This past year has been very cliche.. It took like 4 months for me and my siblings to learn to walk again.. We have started the usual training of your everyday overpowered mc toddler.. Since we were children we couldn't just walk outside and lift a boulder claiming to be training.. We had to be lowkey with what we did.. The "workouts" we did consisted of some push-ups, sit-ups, and reflex drills.. We also practiced controlling our mana for the first time.. This lead to a pleasant surprise..
Stat Unlocked!!
Mana - S
MP set to default.
The system which hasn't shown it's face in over a year shows up out of thin air.. We each have on a surprised look so I assume they got the same message as me.. Now that I think about it.. isn't this too much like a game.. I wonder if I can...
Inventory n/a
Nice job again system thingy..

Still as beautiful as always.. hmm.. oh a new passive skill.. No skills yet though.. I wonder how I compare to the so called geniuses of this world.. well i'm only a one year old so i've got plenty of time....

Today could be considered a special day though.. I saw the outside world for the first time.. and when I say depressing... I really mean depressing.. It looks like we are in the middle of a medieval village.. Our house is sightly bigger than everyone else but overall has the appearance.. We have a fence made out of dirt and straw that would be taller than me if I wasn't being carried.. It is poorly made but looks way better compared to the houses surrounding us.. There is a road but it was made by clearing the grass in the area.. It goes down the center of the villiage and connects everything together.. All of this was situated in the middle of a grassland surrounded by a forest on all sides except one.. That side had nothing but grass and hills.. The villiage was called Flatbreak.. A fitting name if you ask me..
We didn't stay out long because we were getting strange stares from the neighboors.. I guess my parents didn't mention us to the villiage.. The women I see all look as if the seen their soul mate.. and the males look as if they've seen the most delicious peice of meat at the table.. I don't believe those faces were directed at us kids though...
When we got back to our house I was met with a familiar sceen..

The Glyph Queen
When Winnie was thirteen, her settlement taught her how to fire a rifle. Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. The Lakiran empire invades—a corporate-born nation overseen by their corporate-born queen, Victoria Paladino. They ride silent planes whose repulsion field veered bullets away. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller. People fight over assembled food pastes. She too is told she has a unique flair, not by the empire, but by a fugitive woman who is the last vestige of an ancient witch coven, and she knows a dark secret about what the exemplars do to people like Winnie and Naema. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The most recent chapters of The Glyph Queen are available on its main website.

Smoking Bandits
With a gaze that was hard to describe, Lark stared at his body in the mirror. Not his body as a human, but his other body. Head of a reptile with rows of sharp teeth, a 180 cm tall body that is full of muscles, covered in scales formed green and black tiger stripes. Clawed hands and feet, with a tail strong enough to crush an adult neck. 'Man. . . can I still be called a human?' In the end, with a deep sigh Lark changed his form back into a human. A moment later, he came out of the room wearing a combat dress, tactical belt with shoulder strap, and jungle boots. While inserting a magazine into an AK-102, Lark muttered. 'Whatever, time to hunt Orcs.' *****

The Dragon & The Demon
Orenda Nochdifache-Firefist has sucessfully overthrown the Empress Xandra and broken the empire to allow the individual colonies to return to self-rule, as well as abolished the chattle slavery that had plagued the land- earning her the title of "Orenda the Reign Ender". The Knights of Order have officially won the war in a bloody revolution, putting an end to the three centuries of warfare under Xandra's leadership. No longer must people live in fear of Xandra's puppet, The Emerald Knight. But now Orenda must face the realities of her dream- the imaginary princess has become queen. And, she has a deadly secret she must keep in the form of a teenage Urillian boy who is not what he seems. Anilla is still on a never ending quest to find her dragon; her people beleive that every memeber of their tribe is born with a soul bonded dragon that exists somewhere in the world- and Orenda's little secret claims to have seen Anilla's soul before. Could he be the key to ending her quest? This work is a direct sequel to The Crimson Mage, and will obviously contain major spoilers for that work, so it might be a better place to start (though I will warn you that the first chapter of that story may be the worst thing I've ever written. Just power through it or encorage me to put up a second draft). It can be found here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/21654/the-crimson-mage/chapter/307763/chapter-1

Return of Chaos
For the longest time, it was thought that the citizens of Earth were the only denizens of the galaxy incapable of developing superhuman abilities — but recent events have flipped that assumption on its head. Between Austin Travis, Mote Emerson, Pierce Bradley, and their friends, Earth is now host to 12 Chaotics… as well as a myriad of mysteries surrounding them. From a new nemesis in the form of a clone, to connections to ancient technology from a long-lost civilization, to the ability to summon powerful legendary weapons, these 12 Chaotics have unknowingly become entangled in something larger than any of them have ever imagined. As if in response to these discoveries, the sinister machinations of galactic evil are churning. The metallic infection, a calamitous nanotechnology “disease” thought to have been vanquished 20 years ago, is slowly returning — and alongside it, a number of conflicts thought to be long past. While they only seek to better grasp their own abilities, Earth’s Chaotics will soon find themselves in the crossfire of returning threats and old heroes. These superpowered Earthians may not have chosen this path through life, but it will still be up to them to determine if history remembers them — to determine if history remembers the saga of the Keys. Return of Chaos is a direct sequel to Chosen Chaos, which begins the Key Saga novel series. Be sure to read Chosen Chaos first, to understand the plot and the characters thus far! Additionally, the Key Saga as a whole takes place 20 years after Rise. You will not need to read Rise to understand the events of Return of Chaos, however the latter will spoil many of the events that occurred in Rise, due to the simple chronology of taking place later in the timeline.
