《Sacrificed in Thirty Seconds》Chapter 19 At The Beginning of Time
Advertisement
At the beginning of time there was only The One, father to all that was to come, mighty and mysterious, yet terribly bored. With only one of him, there was no one to share a conversation with. Whatever he created was for naught, for he had no one to share his joy with. Therefore, he took his lung, kidney and eye one of each and created three beings out of them to join him in his eternity.
Danna, The Allseeing
Jothulm, The Inexhaustible
Bergun, The Pure
Father of all began to create a brand new world in the company of the three, joy once more could be found sparkling in his eyes, immense energy flowing through his veins.
For his love not seeing the joy was only his alone.
Danna with her great sight could see the excellence of The One, knowing she could not compare.
Jothulm felt the vitality of the father to all, faltering in his faith in his own.
Bergun seeking all that was pure looked upon himself and saw the impurities in his being, as The One was the more worthy one of them two.
Inferiority
Envy
Pride
The moment The One finished the new world and turned to his children to share the joy of it, the three lashed out with violence and torn him to pieces, detroying the perfection they themselves could not achieve.
Unable to lift his hand against his children, the body of The One was scattered across the lands. Scared by what they had done and of each other, the three backed away from the place of bloodshed into the corners of the recently created world and Jothulm cut away the land he stood upon from others, creating a new continent.
As they watched the water fill the great trench created by Jothulm, they kept thinking about their deed until their bodies withered from grief, their deaths leaving only their one organ The One god created them with intact.
Thus happened to pass that humans found the three godly organs and while mesmerized by their perfection, three emperors were born, who accepted said organs as their own, giving birth to three mighty imperiums, accepting the names of their primogenitors.
Danna, The Allseeing, the queen of Angor
Jothulm, The Inexhaustible, the emperor of Ismir
Bergun, The Pure, the god of Baradin
"Finally Garry, you should have done that long ago!" Words could be heard, while the pages with words were turning black, flames licking them eagerly.
"Have no fear, this heresy will be naturally purified off this world. I cannot believe they have the guts to spew lies like these. Glorifying the mad god, what a travesty." A man in well-kept armor said, throwing the burning remains of a book away.
"We need to keep moving, I do not want to be here at night." The man wearing similar armor looked around nervously.
Garry looked at the sergeant, but said nothing, following his lead. He would have called him a coward if he had not known the man better, his experience in the field were incomparable to his, giving his words weight. They had scattered to look around, but sergeant Rederick allowed only a quick search with no intentions of camping here tonight.

The aim of the mission was to discover any horrors that may clash with them at the border in advance. The lands of chaos were unpredictable, with occasionally spawning a monster of nightmares, the possible tracks of which they were just looking for. Of course, he was not afraid, his faith in the true god, Bergun, strong.
"Come, quick. We do not want to keep others waiting." The sergeant looked at him with worry. He could tell his eagerness made him uneasy, but he did not know why he should hesitate, when their cause was just.
The terrain was difficult, the part of the border they were scouting along being surrounded with swamps and forests. Their legs were sinking into mud, making any trips using horses impossible. Sticking their legs into the swamp, it produced all kinds of sickly noises. Garry looked under his feet and was glad, he did not know what used to be the mush he was sinking his legs into.
Still, he did not complain, being a relatively new recruit, his spirit was high and he had no reason to see nothing but hope in his future. The empire stood strong, it cared for its soldiers amd the casualties of broder patrols were not high, the bigger battles being handled by other regiments, not the scouts. He almost felt pitty he had no chance to prove himself in a big battle, but he did not voice his dreams, as he knew the inclinations of the sergeant. He was a good man, but he had lost his edge a long time ago, being witness of too many horrors.
"Cursed swamp!" Garry growled when one of his legs sank deep into the tracherous terrain they were traversing. He attempted to use his other leg as a leverage to lift himself back out of the swamp, but the mud gave way under the pressure and even his second leg was trapped. Even worse, he began to sink even deeper, his hands waving about in panic, as he tried to catch anything to prevent himself from sliding further in.
"Rederick!" He shouted and the sergeant swiftly looked his way, wary of making a step closer towards him.
"Wait, I got you!" Rederick run off to a grown bush, it took him less than a minute to improvise a rope and throw it to his comrade. "Wind it around your hand, I will pull you out!"
Garry swiftly tied himself to the rope, watching the red face of the heaving sergeant who was trying to pull him out of the swamp. Garry's face lost its color when he realized, he had sunken too deep and Rederick was unable to pull him out.
He was sinking deeper instead!
Beginning to hyperventilate, he began moving wildly, understanding he was inevitably sinking to his doom, which made the situation even worse, his shoulders disappearing under the surface of the disgusting liquid.

He could see his superior began giving up on him, exhausted by his futile attempt and a new wave of panic took hold of him.
"Just a little stronger!"Garry yelled, but received just a look of pity from Rederick, who was about to give up. At that moment, they heard the sound of splashing water, too loud to be produced by any of the small animals living at the edge of the swamp and that sound turned out to be the last nail in Garry's coffin.
"I am not strong enough, hang on, I will return with help!" The sergeant said, while leting his end of the rope slide to the ground out of his hands.
"Wait! We can tie it to the bush! Wait! Rederick! Pull me out!" In horror, Garry was watching the back of his superior, who was running away with haste.
"Coward!" He roared in anger and turned his head in the direction of the sound. Being too submerged, he could not see the source of it, but guessed it contributed in a major way to the cowardice of Rederick.
After a while, he heard quick steps and with only his head sticking out of the swamp, he observed a big human frame of a young man towering above him. He had the features of natives of this land, the very people the patrol should pay attention to. He had dark hair and green eyes, with a lot of bronze skin revealed by his spare clothing, covered with wild tatoo motives, the sight of which was making Garry uneasy.
They stared at each other for a while, as Garry's chin was disappearing into the murky depths.
Suddenly, the native picked up the rope left by the sergeant and jumped to the bushes, expertly stretching the rope and tying it to the most durable parts. A second after he began pulling Garry out, his muscles bulging under his skin.
At first, Garry could not believe it, but the incredible strength of the native was actually able to pull him up a bit, igniting his hopes in his survival. Feeling like blessed by Bergun himself, he watched in glee the miracle of him being dragged back up by the strong native. When he finally emerged out of the deadly clutches of the swamp, he dragged himself up and stood with the native face to face for a while.
Knowing the native probably would not understand him, he just smiled and nodded, picking up the sword on the ground, he had dropped earlier. The native just reciprocated his nod and turned to leave like nothing happened.
Looking at his back and back at his sword, Garry gritted his teeth as his gaze hardened. He made a quick step forward, stabbing his sword in the back of the native, his blood splattering on his hands. With a roar, he pushed the man right into the same swamp he had been just pulled out off.
Gravely injured, Garry's victim was wounded too badly and in shock and could not fend off his following stabs as he pushed his enemy under the surface, persistent in his actions until the deed was done.
Breathing heavily, Garry stumbled off in the direction of the border, not looking back.
Heretics were his enemy.
Their weakness should be exploited.
No mercy shall be given.
* * * *
At the beginning of time there was only The One, father to all that was to come, mighty and mysterious, the most glorious and pure god, Bergun. With only one of him, there was no one to share a conversation with. Whatever he created was for naught, for he had no one to share his joy with. Therefore, he took his three hair and created three beings to join him in his eternity.
Danna, The Blind
Jothulm, The Weary
Mad God, The Prideful
Bergun, The Father of All began to create a brand new world in the company of the three, joy once more could be found sparkling in his eyes, immense energy flowing through his veins.
For his love not seeing the joy was only his alone.
Danna with her limited sight could not see the excellence of The One, thinking nothing of it.
Jothulm felt the vitality of the father to all, his greedy eyes envying every bit of it.
Mad God seeking to corrupt all that was pure looked upon himself and saw the impurities in his being, hating the purity of The One.
Inferiority
Envy
Pride
The moment The One finished the new world and turned to his children to share the joy of it, the three sought to detroy the perfection they themselves could not achieve.
Lashing out at the glorious god, they underestimated Bergun's great power. In retaliation, he tore the most vile of them, the Mad God, into pieces and in his benevolence, banished the two remaining gods to the corners of the world, granting them time to think about their actions. In doing so, establishing the kingdom of god on land, Baradin, where Bergun rules to this day.
The page of a small book floating on the surface was suddenly grabbed by a hand from under the surface, the fingers of the hand extending and contracting frantically, only to be again, along with the whole book, submerged in the deep swamp to never see the light of the day again, as both sank to the bottom, where that what many sought and others hated rested forgotten.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

Magikind [Original]
The third millennia, a time of change and evolution. An era, where people, through countless generations, have evolved strange powers and abilities. Through several centuries of selective breeding, these beings, known as mages, have become part of the very foundations of society. However, some refused to change or adapt. They believed in purity and refused to interbreed with magikind. Known as the manush, they were a rarity among society. Now, in the fifth millennia, the manush are thought extinct. With magikind ruling the world, a three-way war grips society. In these uncertain times, a manush called Gin, will herald a new era for all Magikind. A story of how man could realistically evolve while still pushing boundaries. Disclaimer: Chapters will be edited once the first volume is done. Bear the beginning for the time being, and hopefully you can see my writing improving over time (I've learnt a lot on how to write because of this (though I'm still not perfect :P)) Proud Member of Writers to the End, WriTE The link to the pledged fictions PS. If you find the 'notes' too boring or too info-dumpy, feel free to skip them and just read the main chapters. They're there for the reader to understand Gin's world (written in the perspective of Gin). But later on, we can see some interactions between the main characters and the occasional references to his past in the notes, so it has its purpose.
