Chapter 5

Training?

As Chandrelle and her loli like sister escorted me to my room, I began to notice something in Chandrelle eyes, her murderous intent… Well, I guess she really doesn’t like me huh… Wow, this girl would make a horrible wife, if I chose her, I might be risking my life. Anyway, I doubt I’ll choose someone now, I mean, it won’t align with my ideal school life!

Since I’ve been in this new world, I have not been granted any plot armour or anything, the only thing that screams stereotypical is the ‘summoned into a new world plot’ and this harem! Well it really isn’t a harem yet, where are all the ladies!

Oh… Her little sister, I haven’t met her yet, in fact she hasn’t said a single word!

‘’Hey, Chandrelle, what’s you sisters’ name?”

‘None of your concern!”

“I want to marry her…” (He was kidding)

The little sister cheeks flushed red, she had never seen such a shameless man, and she looked shyly away, unlike her sister whose rage was beyond that of the great dragons of norta, the colour of her pupil turned into blazing red.

As Hitora was about to talk, her fist travelled at unexplainable speeds, it was merely a flash of light before it hit Hitora in the nose, blood sprayed all over his face.

“Huh, why’d you punch me for?”

“She’s only 14!”

“Oh…”

After this Hitora had feinted on the floor

Where am I, I was situated on some very comfortable fabric, surrounding me was a very elegant room, filled with antiques and such. Above me was pretty face, it was the younger sister, “Where am I?”

“In your room…”

It was time for their training to start. The two sisters were transported to their own training regimes, whilst, Hitora was transported to his own regime by some maids.

They transported him to a garden, it was rather small, there were some simple aesthetic plants placed around. Hitora felt a touch on his back, and turned around, the short frail Lord Oscaster greeted him.

“Hitora, we’re going to start of your training with some basic history regarding the history of the Sixthar Empire and you’re going to learn some basic martial knowledge and then maybe some basic magic,” the old man said in a humble voice. He was wearing a golden robe, and he had his hands behind his back.

Uh, I have to learn history? Anyway, guess I’ll be able to learn some martial arts and magic and stuff…

Lord Oscaster, directed Hitora to some seats. The lord sat down and quietly sipped his tea for a while, leaving Hitora frustrated.

“Okay, let’s start with the history of Sixthar, basically it’s an empire in hands of the Zektick Dynasty, every 100 years the dynasty changes, the person or thing rather that dictates who which noble family rules, is the Nyrist rune. A few thousand years ago, the ancient King Qimir, formed a pact with a legendary dragon called Nyrist, in the pact, he promised that Nyrist would own the land and that dragons would be allowed to inhabit the lands, if he protected it. Of course, the kings managed the empire, but Nyrist owned the land, and soon after that Nyrist decided to go reside elsewhere, thus he created a rune which was essentially part of his soul connected to a monument of him, it practically chose the king he wanted to manage his land.

Thus the noble families were born, they were made as potential candidates to become a king/queen of Sixthar. Now for magic, only certain people could manipulate mana, which is magical energy, the main population of magic users are nobles, thus martial arts were created for commoners to protect themselves, some martial art users, can attain the full potential of their body (Qi) and some can even control there chakras which is where the gate to heaven resides, you’re probably wondering why there is a gate to heaven in your body, it is so, that when the body dies the soul can be transported back to heaven where it can be reborn. If you can manage you chakras you can essentially draw holy energy from it, emulating a god’s power, only a few men have actually reach that level, most high ranking martial artist can only cultivate a little qi and chakra. Anyway, today, we’re going to see if you can use magic, or if you can cultivate your demonic energy, since you’re a demon, you most likely won’t have any chakras, after that I’ll teach you some martial arts.”

Lord Oscaster put some stones on the table, “These are runes that determine if you can cultivate mana,” he turned towards Hitora. “Think of this as a test, I want you to focus on your breathing and close your eyes, and then touch any of these runes.” He pointed towards the black rocks called ‘runes’.

Hitora did so, and as he touched one of the rocks, it glowed blue and gave of an eerie sensation. “Woah, so I can cultivate mana?”

“Yes, you can do summoning magic, hmm… let’s see if I can read your

abilities (stats).”

The Lord gently touched Hitora’s hand, and as he did so, his pupils turned into an unnatural white. A glowing text hovered above Hitora’s hand:

~~~~~~
[Magic Abilities]
Summon one spirit, random class.
~~~~~~

“Ah, so you can summon a random spirit, meaning that you will have to form a pact with it, if you summon a spirit, it can give ‘blessings’ which are effects that can help you..”

Hell yeah, hopefully I’ll summon some badass beast, or maybe I’ll summon

“Let’s try it!” Hitora says

The Lord and Hitora drew a peculiar symbol, apparently it was a ‘summoning circle’. The two chanted a summoning spell, and a flash of green light radiated from below the circle, and soon the entire circle was glowing green, a cat like entity emerged from the circle.

“*YAWN*, why’d I have to be summoned from the spirit realm – he eyes turned to Hitora – oh, so you’re the guy who summoned me…” said the spirit.

I stared in disbelief, you got to be kidding me, I went to a fantasy world, and all I summoned was… a goddamn cat? Man, what type of crappy rng is this?

“Hey, old fart, can I summon another spirit, this one’s super lame!”

As Hitora said that, the cat became furious

“I suppose not, since you can only summon once… I guess you were unlucky enough to only be able to summon once, and only a common spirit, anyway, why don’t you make a pact with him, he’ll make a good pet.” “What’d you call me?!” shouted the even furious fur-ball.

“A pet,” the two said.

“I’m not a goddamn pet! I’m high level combat spirit –“ “You’re only rank 2,” interrupted Lord Oscaster.

“Whatever, I guess I’ll make a pact with him, what a bore, this spirit super useless, it probably can’t even give me any buffs!”

Hitora made pact with the spirit and called him, ‘Cat spirit’.

“Why don’t you name something else, this names horrible,” complained the cat.

“Because, I spent my all my F~~ mana on one summon, and I summoned you! Hey, old fart, how do I cultivate more mana, and what do I do with it?”

The Old man, was busy reading some book written in some foreign script, he glanced towards Hitora, and thought to himself, “Hmm… To cultivate mana, you’d have to, go around killing beast, than you’ll be blessed some mana from some divine being, than you can use that mana to… activate spells, but you’ll need a spell book first, anyway, you’ll learn this when you go to the warlock arts school…”

“Why’d do I have to attend school?”

“Because all nobles need some sort of education, and to also draw attention away from you… Anyhow, let’s get on with you martial art training!”

Lord Oscaster taught Hitora some forms, the style he was learning, was a hard and linear northern style, than the old man taught the application of the form, some of them were grappling moves, disarms, kicks, strikes, punches, joint locks and body manipulation. The style was made for commoners to effectively attack magic users from a close distance. It strived on disabling the hands, which is where magic was emitted from.

The style originated in the Northern provinces, where the Nobles weren’t so nice, thus the commoners needed a style that could help them in combat against them in the civil war.

After that, the two practiced some breathing techniques which could help soothe pain. Than the old man taught Hitora some weapon training, this time they were using a common farming tool called the Biksai, some of the farmers in the eastern provinces made martial arts which specialised on using legal tools as weapons, as weapons were banned there.

As you may have noticed, depending on the province and its characteristics, Martials arts were made accordingly. For example, in the southern provinces, the styles there were very flowery and soft and often very aesthetic, with an emphasis on avoiding an attacks by stepping back or laterally, and conditioning of the body was a must, this was because people in those areas were very short and timid, and thus body conditioning and minimalizing damage was prevalent in all the styles from that province.

After they’re training, the three, (don’t forget Cat spirit!) went back into the palace.

“Didn’t you say that you had some other daughters? Where are they?”

“I can’t seem to find them… They’ve been gone for over a week… anyway I’ll find them soon enough.” Bonus!
