Chapter 4
The Noble
Why am I being taken to the capital, it must be pretty cool, hopefully I won’t be sent to jail.
‘Alein, what’s going to happen now, will you send me to jail or something.’
‘This may be a lot to take in, but being eligible for the divine selection, pretty much guarantees you have demon blood, and you may even have the blood of the Ravana, so I can technically take you to jail, since you might be Ravana, but that won’t be necessary… You’re going to live with my cousins and attend my old magic school, you’ll live the life of spoilt noble brat. This is so that you are kept safely away from the cult.’
Nooo! Why am I going to school!! But on the bright side, it’s a magic school.
‘We’re here,’ says Alein.
‘Finally, sigh,’ replies Hitora
‘I don’t know your name, what is it?’
‘Hitora Natsuki.’
‘Strange name.’
As they were exited the carriage, an elegant grand palace greeted them, around the palace was trees and other aesthetically pleasing plants – only a master landscaper could make such a beautiful garden. The pleasant smell of the trees, sand and ocean was overwhelming. A man, in military uniform, which had the same emblem that Alein had on his chest piece, approached them, “Lord Alein, my Lord Oscaster, is here.”
Huh what, I’m going to be noble!? Woah, so this means I’ll be super rich...
As they entered the house, the man in the military uniform told them he was the son of the great General Shoji, and his job was to manage the security of Oscaster household.
As they continued into the house, Lord Oscaster greeted them, he was an old frail man, with long white hair and long ungroomed beard. But despite his physical state, he was one of the most powerful mages throughout the Sixthar Empire.

Near the lord were two of his many daughters, who were waiting for their guest and lord Alein. One of them looked as if she were forced to come, she had very pale skin and had long straight purple hair, and she was around 5 foot 4 she was wearing a frilly dress, which was dark red and her younger sister was shorter and unlike her sister she was eager to meet her new ‘guest’.
“Hello, Hitora, I am Lord Oscaster, these are my daughters, in order for you to stay here you’ll have to marry either one of them, but of course, I have many more daughter, I have some sons if you wish!” shouted the Lord, he continued laughing at his own joke, unlike their father, the girls were not amused – especially the older sister, the younger one, was, rather embarrassed and her face flushed red.
“I don’t want to marry yet… I mean I’m only 16…” replies Hitora.
Although it was unlike Hitora, he was actually quite scared of marriage, he’d much rather marry in his mid-20’s, It was too much hard a decision for him to choose someone to be a lifelong partner. And it was also Illegal to marry if you younger than 20.
“Huh, you’re 16, you must marry! It’s the proper age for a noble to marry!” replied the Lord
“Father! I want to marry a proper Noble, not a potential incarnation of Ravana himself! Our offspring will be the stuff of nightmares! And he’ll ruin the reputation of our family!’ shouted the now rebellious older daughter.
I should probably explain, in Sixthar (ruled by the Zarthick dynasty), marriage was greatly influenced by the quality of the offspring, the quality of offspring was usually measured in physical appearance, magical aptitudes which were responsible for what element could be manipulate such as fire, water and light, the more aptitudes the greater, and the power that the man could inherit, and another one was racial purity in marriages, it was a sad but true reality, that halfies were often looked down upon by the nobles.

And in Hitora’s case, he had no aptitudes, literally no power, as far as we know and he is a demon so, he was greatly behind on the marriage card.
Of course, the oldest daughter, Chandrelle was rightfully worried of demon and sylph children, as they were often dangerously powerful, so powerful that they could be considered gods among men, and they’re power was often uncontrollable – and once they reached age 16, they would die as they’re power was too much for their mortal bodies to hold, only celestial bodies could hold that much power.
But the father, wasn’t worried at all, not that he was ignorant, but he knew of breathing techniques and management of one’s ‘qi’ and chakras could easily control a sylphs and demon mix (Hydranads) power.
The lord had once travelled to the far eastern provinces where Hydranads live peacefully thanks to their management of their qi and chakras. It was once said that even mere humans could attain godly powers if they could attain control of there qi and chakras. If they could attain management of their qi, they could heal themselves in combat and if they could control there chakras, which is where the portal to heaven resides, they could manipulate holy energy, emulating that of a god’s power.
Thus, he wasn’t worried about the offspring, and he knew, that if Hitora was really Ravana, the only way to rid his danger to the world without killing him was to mix his blood with a noble family, therefore, Ravana can’t reincarnate. There was no reason why this occurred, but he was told by his teacher, and he regarded his word as that of a gospel, and so he blindly believed his teacher words.
As the lord awakened from his thoughts, he was greeted by the sight of Chandrelle arguing with Hitora.
‘Silence!’ the lord said.
And immediately, the two stopped.
‘Hitora will find a suitable bride, and will attend the magic school, you will act his guide, now, you two take him to his room and then do whatever you want for the next two hours and after that we will have training!’
The two nodded and proceeded to take Hitora to his room, and Lord Alein exited the house and security manager walked with the lord to discuss plans.
