Chapter 2

THERE’S BEEN A MISTAKE

[START OF ARC 1]

Hirota, a youth in his teens could easily be described as…. Blatantly below average, everything about him was below average, his looks, his grades, his social life, his life in general. You’re probably thinking, that’s quite harsh, but to be honest, I would consider my description of him to be… well a little, inaccurate, as in, I was kind enough to not rate him: ‘completely useless.’

Anyway, Hirota , was quite happy, because, he had just finished school, and he was dumb enough to believe that was the end of his miserable and stressful education, he was completely oblivious on what was yet to come… university (although it is a mystery on how he got accepted) … And to celebrate him finishing school, he went to by himself to go buy the third sequel to his favourite game series, ‘Demon Hunter: Genesis’, oh, did I mention he’s also a rather useless otaku?

And as he went to his favourite store, in his favourite Demon Hunter jumper. But as he opened the store’s door he was immediately transported, not into the store but into a rather dark room, and in this room was by lit green candles which situated into every corner of the room of the square room, and he was surrounded by mysterious figures who were covered in robes. And when he looked at them, there hoods hid most of their faces’ features from recognition, apart from their eyes which glared at Hirota.

Where the hell am I? This has to be some sort of joke he thought. He scanned across the room, immediately recognising what this was, a summoning chamber. But why would I be here, this has to be some sort of mistake.

*BANG*, the door 90 degrees to him, opened, revealing a very odd being, it was definitely human like, but it gave of an aura of malice, its’ clothing was also has strange, it wore a purple robe, and his face was covered in white make up, and there was a strange emblem in carved on his head.

His eyes were unnaturally circular, and he had teeth but no lips… ‘Oh my dear friends, have we summoned the, great dragon of the southern provinces, Otocrin – he tilted his head upwards, and raised his arms as if he was doing a strange dance, his eye’s twitched as he saw Hitora – oh, what do we have here, no! What have you done, you have not summoned him, and you have summoned nothing but a mere human! O… how utterly impudent of you… haha,’ the figure raises his hands in an odd gesture, and the red energy hovers above his hands. ‘Die!’

The summoners, groan in pain, blood seeps out of their clothing as their bodies swing wildly and fly across the room. The man moves towards Hitora, who in the midst of this madness, is surprisingly, amused. What the hell is this, normally fantasy anime plots don’t go like this? ‘My dear! We have summoned a man from a different realm! Tis a pity – his peculiar eyes, turned to Hitora – but don’t worry dear sir, I will make use of your life!’ Hitora was, now, genuinely worried. He was stuck with mentally unstable man, who in one gesture of a hand had killed his servants.

‘Oh but first, please touch this coin – it had some ancient writing carved on it

– if it lights, up, tell me? If it doesn’t, guess I’ll have to kill you…’

“What’s it for?”

“The divine selection, scum, you will learn more about if you are positive from the coin, but for now keep your mouth shut...”

He thought to himself very intensely. He decided to struck a deal with the maniac in front of him, ‘Hello there, I am a wealthy noble of Realm IV, I possess many riches such as this – he pulls out his smartphone out of his pocket – this is a magnificent device which can access the universal knowledge database, with this you can get recipes to make legendary weapons,’ Hitora was buying time, he was thinking on an escape route and on how to buy some time. The man was obviously confused at what Hitora had said. Boom!

The building is about to collapse, but an unknown force prevents the bricks from falling and are thrown far away.

About a dozen soldiers look down upon the scene of brutality, floating above. They all wore metal plate Armour with the emblem of the Zaketick dynasty en-carved on their chest piece, they drew there long swords and pointed it at the maniac. A grand figure in the middle of the knights, who were formed in a spiral, completely surrounding the men within in the chamber, preventing them from leaving, took of his helmet revealing his pretty boy face, and striking green eyes, he unlike the other knights, hadn’t drawn his sword, but when he did, the maniac gasped in fear. He revealed his blade, which gave of demeanour of strength and power.

‘It can’t be – the maniac, scratched his face, and blood poured out – lord Alein, of the kingsmen,’ spitted the maniac. ‘Oh this is simply marvellous! Now I may play!’

Spears, which had suddenly appeared, pierced the knights. And they all dropped, except the Lord Alein, who simply pulled the spear out of his body, as he finally jerked it out, the hole in his body simply regenerated.

Lord Alein, threw the spear back at the maniac, at speeds which Hitora had never seen, and the victim dropped dead. “Are you okay, sir? You wear different attire to what I’m used to, you must be a traveller, not from this country, I suppose,” Lord Alein said in a rather soft voice.

Hitora was lost for words… ‘Please, take me, uh, away from here, sir, if that is, uh, okay with you?’ pleaded Hitora.

Ah, yes, Hitora’s social awkwardness has just kicked in. Anyway, I guess it is acceptable in this situation…

Suddenly, the bodies that were meant to be dead, rose, ‘Hehe, I can never die, you vermin, Authority of Vinmar, allows me to resurrect myself and incarnate in another’s body!’ shouted Vinmar.

One of the many bodies, Vinmar incarnated into, was situated behind the

Lord Alein, and in a moment’s notice, a spear pierced through Aleins’ chest.

But, despite the shear size of the wound, all Alein did was laugh…

‘You’re getting ahead of yourself Vinmar….’

Alein disappeared into tiny pieces of flakes which flew away due to the wind.

‘It can’t be,’ gasped Vinmar.

A massive explosion took place inside of the chamber. And everything was blown to bits.
