《Demon Contractor Unknowingly Becomes Less Of A Jerk》Chapter 12:Dancin Is What You Do

I move to the Quali and slap him a few times, filling my hand with a pinch of Draumr's mana with the command to wake up. Because of his mana resistance and the fact that I feel like slapping someone to deal with the annoyance of having to cook for the brat, I end up having to slap over twenty times because I possibly accidentally used too little mana. In response, he leaps up preparing to attack the handsome me but stops mid-jump as our contract acts up causing his body to feel a paralyzing pain.

"Come on, I need you to make a table for me. Go punch that tree."

Since he can resist Draumr's pure mana he definitely has the strength to send a tree flying with a punch. He stands up and moves to the tree I pointed at, entering a striking stance, bending his knees and leaning body forward with a slight slant, his right leg in front of his left creating a strange sight as his legs, like his head, are more animal than human.

"Iompróidh a dó."

The golem cores on his wrist glow, the sound of something piercing flesh accompanying the small balls momentary glow. The crystal gauntlets begin to shine and grow, rising above his wrists and increasing in thickness, switching from a seemingly paper-thin sheet to a human thumb thick layer. Within seconds the crystal gauntlets cover his arms, stopping at his shoulders. The sides of the crystal wraps began to thin, creating a blades edge starting at his pointed elbow and ending on his wrist, the fingertips are pointed and sharp with tiny sharp teeth covering their bottoms and tops. The moment his gauntlets finish transforming he attacks, twisting his ankle and relaxing his waist, he spins slashing the tree with the sharp sides of his left arm. The crisp sound of wood being cut sounds out but tree appears fine, at least until he digs his fingers into its bark and lifts it, tossing it to reveal a cleanly cut stump.

"Condensed glass right?"

"No answer."

"Okay then, that's fine. Now can you look after the brat, I don't think it'll run but it's better to be safe."

She's sitting with her head in her knees and her arms around her legs, trying her hardest to fill the area around us with Draumr's mana, slightly shivering every now and then. It seems she's a completely different person from to girl who smiled when that human committed suicide by ramming his head into the ground. It's entirely possible that when I came along, an honest person who sees her as human and was willing to treat and hunt for her, the stress and confusion felt when presented with someone who doesn't want her dead and actively cares for her likely caused her to regress mentally or create a second personality to cope with the sudden change, especially considering that someone was a demon, something as hated as those stupid Draumr worshippers.

"What's your name, I don't want to just keep calling you Quali."

"...You can call me Attie."

"Thanks, now get back to watching the brat."

I gather the fruits and vegetables and toss them on the stump, summoning a ball of water a human head wide and use it to rinse them, making sure to properly rinse the cabbage and begin preparing a pleasant looking and tasting salad. Of course, I create another ice knife by melting, freezing, condensing, and molding the snow on the ground.

"So many spells...Demons truly are amazing."

"Yes, yes we are."

Hearing his words the brat looks up right at me. In response, I spread my wings a bit and angle my head so I can flash my beautiful horns and fangs, unwrapping my tail from my waist and swing it around. Seeing my smile she once again rest her head on her legs, shivering several times harder. There's a chance her trauma can be associated with Sylvia it's best to make something different from the traditional stuffed cabbage flower. I wonder if she's scared because we're in the forest, does she remember that this is Sylvia's forest and can she be considered a reliable source of information considering her previous treatment and current state.

"Probably not."

"Huh?"

"It's nothing."

I ignore the confused dog and decide to make a stuffed cabbage snake. First I remove the cabbages leaves slowly and carefully, placing them on the stump so that I can prepare them after making the stuffing. I grab the Adhom Tehme, a red, palm-sized fruit similar in shape to an average apple but slimmer and covered in round, white, mana filled, equally spaced lumps. First I remove the mana spots from the fruit and place them aside, peeling the fruit and removing its base, placing the fruits remains in the bowl for mashing. Despite its appearance, it's a sour fruit slightly weaker than a lemon with its acidity but because of its mana, it's also somewhat sweet with a calming effect on the mind. The Adhom Tehme is also called red innocence because of its red flesh, white dots, and the fact that pure-blooded crows, an ancient but relatively common species simply love it.

I mash the fruit and move onto the Fleisch Verlet, a human hand-sized tear-shaped purple fruit with thick skin and plenty of juice. I create a small hole in the stump to place the juice I plan to extract using a minor regenerative spell, testing the brat and seeing how she'll react. Unfortunately, she doesn't and continues to shiver with her head in her legs so I collect the juice, snipping the pointed end and gently massaging the fruit so I can get the juice without damaging it. As soon as I finish I place it on the table and begin peeling it with difficulty as without its juice it's gone soft. I move the blue skin aside and toss the red insides in another hole I made. The skin is blue and the flesh is red but because of the mana filled veins inside it the flesh emits a red glow with the juice as a filter and distorted gives its skin a purple appearance. Its also called injured meat as the mana inside its weak flesh causes it to quickly rot while giving it an extremely bitter taste as well as the deep red color of its flesh and savory juice

Finally, I dice the olives and collect the oils, finishing the preparation. After making sure everything is in order, I begin to cut the cabbage leaves, removing the hard white part for later use and cut the remains into equally long and wide rectangles for the body. I scoop some of the Adhom Tehme and place it in one of the cabbage rectangles adding a pinch of Fleish Verlet flesh and diced olive and mix and form them into a white block of cold fruit covered in green dots, rolling the cabbage to wrap around it. I then cut the hard part of the cabbage leaves and roll them into several small cylinders to use as the snakes bone, placing them in the center of the fruit mush, after I use some magic to control the juice and have it cover its top, freezing it. I do this for the rest of the cabbages and make five human thumb thick snake bodies, freezing the sides of the separate rolls with the juice making sure not a single roll separates making the cabbage snakes body safe. For the heads, because I'm lazy I just roll cabbage balls and coat them in juice and for the accompanying dip, I mix the juice, olive oil, and two fruits flesh adding in plenty of juice and Adhom Tehme and a majority of the remaining Fleish Verlet, making a pulpy and mushy sweet and bitter dip with a sour tinge.

[Here brat, its some food from my home, though it is a little different.]

I place the complete snakes in the bowl, shaping them like a clover and because I deserve a reward and because I just want to spite the human I eat a snake. The head has a nice crunchy feel with the juice and cabbage's natural water creating a nice cooling sensation in my mouth, the bland and refreshing taste of the cabbage perfectly melding with the sweet juice, the savory undertone added by the oil further enhancing the delectably refreshing feeling. I move onto the body taking a big bite, hearing a crisp crunch as the cold cabbage and hard center break, the frozen juice melts in an instant soaking the sour-sweet fruit mush giving it a sweet taste and bitter undertone with a hint of sour, the cabbage releasing cold water the moment it breaks tweaking its taste but adding a certain level of refreshing. It's on odd blend of flavors but it is simply delectable. The brat looks at me, wondering where that crunching is coming from. She sees my wonderful smile and seems to remember something, still shivering she places her head against her legs once again, this time hesitating.

[Try it brat, I can safely say us demons make the best meals.]
