《Demon Contractor Unknowingly Becomes Less Of A Jerk》Chapter 6:Sudden Contract

The little hut I made for the kid and me is a little too close to that village, so I have to move before the idiots from the village decide to investigate this place. For now, the best option is to make a small carrying bag out of some loose branches and carry the kid somewhere safer. While I have the time, I should also grab my suit since I already have a proper meat shield people will love to hate. I go ahead and lower myself so that I can quickly kill the Canenanes. Twenty beast currently rests on the treetops below me, some of them are standing, though struggling due to injuries related to the fall, and some of them are unable to move as their weight caused them to break past the leaf cushioning and be pierced by several branches, adding to their broken bones.
Since Canenanes have thick skin and high fat to muscle ratio I likely will only be able to kill one as despite they're injuries they can be quite a feisty beast. Their bodies are abnormally large for a species originated from the common wolf as on average they grow to be half as tall as an ancient bear, and despite their thick fore and hind legs, their movement speed is rather fast. They also have small patches of fur on their lower legs, tail, waist, back, and neck protecting and warming spots on their body that lack fat or have thin skin. Because of the locations of their fur they are often hunted and raised as once the skin is removed they will have a low effort and inexpensive source of clothing.
I move to the largest one and stab its head with an ice knife I made from the flying sheet killing it instantly, moving onto the rest after making sure it is absolutely positively dead, after half an hour every beast has been killed. After confirming every single beast is dead I once again move to the largest one and begin processing it first collecting its skin, separating the skin without fur and the skin with fur, making two small bags to hold the high-quality meat and fat I plan to store. While collecting what I can I begin to think about whether I should collect its bones or not. "Hmm, should I make a helmet out of its skull?" It's said that Canenanes are close descendants of the ancient boar, giving them abnormally thick and durable skulls and strange spines making it difficult to process their bones. The effort is worth it but I'm lacking in time at the moment so It's best I just leave it alone and kill another one when I have the time.
As soon as I confirm the quality of the fat and skin, I grab the large fat-filled sack I made and move back to the small hut. In under ten minutes, I make it back, first checking on the child, making sure it's alive and sort of well ignoring the bad smell coming from her butt. "How much cloth will I have to waste on her. So annoying!" I could use some of the demon kings mana to help her recovery but a stupid, violent, tiny, weak, useless human like her isn't worthy. If she had no use I would've just let those crazy humans keep her but as the writer of the world's play I need a useful tool, whether it be another actor or a set director doesn't matter. And so I remove the coat and wipe her down once again, placing the thick furless portion of the skin on top of her and using the soiled coat for the already weak fire in the center of our small tree hut and begin to examine her once again. Her pale white skin has gained some color, her face has relaxed a small bit, and her body appears to be responsive to touch. Her breath is weak but stable, and the muscles throughout her body have loosened a bit, and her mouth has to some extent recovered with the heavy discoloration around the roof and back beginning to fade.

"She likely won't be able to maintain consciousness for more than a few hours a day and it will take several months to make a full recovery but if I rush and use some of my debts, I can probably convince Draumr to feed her some more of his blood." But that'll mean using up most of the debts I have painstakingly given him...Okay so, for now, I should think about how much I would lose and how I can benefit. At the moment I am his only source of demon blood and am the only one that can offer him the other gods grace so my value is immeasurable and while he won't be too happy, if I frame it right I can make it as making him pay his debts in excess is a favor. I would also gain a loyal follower and meat shield... but if things go wrong there's a good chance he'll lower my sanity.
"Alright then, to sleep I go!"
And so I bash my head against the floor as hard as I can, instantly knocking me out.
-DreamLand-
I open my eyes once and find myself in a familiar place, though it does look quite different compared to last night's visit. The golden columns appear to have lost their bright shine, and the black void that seemingly ended at the top of the columns, has dropped, swallowing and dripping down the many columns, suddenly the sky above us has switched from a bright galaxy filled with seemingly endless stars to an endless shadow trying its hardest to consume the bright lights that keep it still, trying its hardest to consume everything in sight. A strong fear suddenly overtakes me, temporarily shutting my mind down. Thankfully Draumr appears before me and gifts me some of his mana, causing the strange energy overtaking my body to disappear.
"...What the hell is this?" I look into Draumr's eyes, pointing upwards with clear hesitation as that thing above me unnerves me, why it does I have no Idea. "My incarnation has passed." Hearing his words I fall forwards, a clear silence filling the endless landscape, trying my hardest to understand how and what is going on. What could possibly kill an incarnate of one of the four gods, why would something choose to kill one of the four gods incarnates, what the hell happens when the incarnation of the greatest god dies? I can accept someone killing the incarnation of one of the deities but I cannot possibly accept this as while the incarnation of one of the four gods isn't as powerful as the main body they still have access to the absolute law of the world. To put it simply it's like trying to kill the force that keeps us on the ground, like trying to kill death, like trying to kill an unkillable god. "The hidden church has been discovered and raided by those pesky dragon newts reducing the number of offerings and prayers I can receive."

"...is that why you stole Sylvia's target."
"SHE STOLE MY TARGET FIRST!"
Suddenly he screams causing my body to go into a state of absolute chaos. My soul shivers and my mind recedes as he expresses his full rage. I underestimated Draumr, since enslaving Sylvia, one of the four gods my wariness towards the other three has weakened. Suddenly I remember, I am his servant and he is my master, one of the four great gods who rule the world. "...I'm willing to make a deal with you." I go silent once again, my mind going into further chaos. "I will give you everything I have and join Sylvia's ranks, in exchange to raise the girl well and protect my followers." As Draumr speaks mana begins to flow out from him, filling my body and restoring my mind.
"...We need to be as clear as possible. Please explain in more detail."
"I am willing to provide over half my mana and become your slave, completely unable to disobey you in exchange you must protect my believers and restore the old church."
"...how long will this last?"
"As long as you wish."
"Even if I say forever?"
"Yes."
".....okay then can you tell me why the sky is falling."
I point to the falling void and dim columns hoping to get an explanation as to what exactly happened. "I guide the mind and bring about a creature's self, Sylvia nourishes the earth and strengthens all living things around her, Alban guides the beast and protect the creatures of the planet, and Chizlas ensures magic's, survival, spread, and improvement. Figure out the rest and hurry!"
...What the hell driving this greedy, favoristic, stubborn idiot so far...shit I need to make more deals. "I can't protect every single one of your followers, but the ones I find I can, and if you give me the ability I can bless a few people with your mana and brainwash them speeding up the recovery process." Worship is worship, whether it be through conditioning or not. "Fine."
"Alright, let's begin."
I activate my eyes, using all of Sylvia's mana, I reach a level where I can see the souls and weaknesses of even the four great gods. A familiar paper appears between me and Draumr, multicolored strings explode from it, piercing through Draumrs body, wrapping around his joints, spine, neck, heart, lungs, and wings and break apart, forming even smaller strings, filling his body and wrapping around and piercing his towering soul. "In exchange for the protection of your followers and restoration of your cult, you will become my slave, offering me almost everything you possess." The strings begin to collect and compress even further as my voice grows louder and louder. "I wouldn't say cult, but yes I accept and will become your slave, giving you my blessing as well as giving you complete access to my mana."
"I'll take the mana but not the blessing."
"Okay then. I accept, fully submitting myself to you until my church has been revived."
The endless mana strings, in response to Draumr's words, begin to combine and change, slowly filling his body with the ever familiar binding spell. In an instant countless miniature magic circles fill his body, leaving no room as if his existence has become the collection of magic circles filling him and nothing else. The moment Draumr absorbs all the strings, the paper begins to ball up and shrink, floating into my head as soon as it reaches a thumbs width. "Alright, I'll do my best, but don't think I will stop working towards the human's demise." Going around and using my new mana supply to force the city's of humans to commit suicide just wouldn't be as fun would it. After all, nothing can beat watching the gradual collapse of a kingdom, wait for me little humans soon enough you will end up just like the harpies, all thanks to my new toy, Draumr.

Ren has a skill as well, or at least he was told he did, but he had no inkling of how to use it. He was disheartened at first but his goal wasn't the path to power, all he wanted from this world was to continue the peaceful life, but the world didn't even provide him with that. A luminous pillar descended upon him and one of his classmates. Goddess Helastia, one of the most revered goddess, called them to herself, probably not a good news. However, there, he finds that a group of heroes has been summoned from his past world to confront the Devils that will be rising soon. But contrary to his assumption of being a hero himself, she referred to him as a reincarnated imposter. She labeled both of them as Humanity's Traitors and sends them into a dungeon where they were supposed to live. That is, with their masters and comrades, the Devils and their minions. The monsters in the dungeon were not likely to accept them as allies, instead, they were out to devour the delicacies that appeared in their home.
