In the darkness of the dawn, can be heard a clashing sound from two swords, colliding with each other. In this vast green of the mansion yard on the Ehren household, two people can be seen sparring with a wooden sword in the respective hand.

One of them is Chad, equipped fully with body mass, and packed with muscles. Holding a wooden sword, his stance is firm, even when he is attacked from all side, his defence cannot be pierced even for once.

On the opposite of him, is Yoro. A nine years old kid with a healthy body, which can be seen from his height that exceeds others in his age. His face full of sweat while his hair position changed in every attack he did, showing how much power he put in the sword on his hand.

Yoro knows, that he can't outleague Chad in term of fighting, especially using strength. So he uses his speed into maximum and uses his agile body to move in a different direction in every second.

It seems to work at first, but he is outright wrong in the next minute. As he slowed down a bit from exhaustion, Chad strikes him in the stomach with his sword, making him fly backwards by some meters.

Yoro holds his stomach in pain while he tried to get up, seeing that, Chad approach him and said commandingly: "stand up in hurry! Enemies won't wait for you to regain your strength, they will strike you in your weakest state!

And so, Chad grabs his arm and pull him to stand up before entering the stance again. Then chad said: " if you want to attack, conserve your stamina and wait for an opening. Learn your enemies movement and find a weakness in their stance. Here, watch me"

And Chad raised his sword and attack, Yoro with sudden reflex, want to parry it with his own just to meet nothing but pain again in his stomach.

Chad: "don't defence! If you lose in term of strength with your enemies, you must dodge it! If your enemies ever attack you, then wait until last second to defence or dodge. Nor they will have a chance to change their angle of attack!"

And afterwards, Chad attacks Yoro again from the upper head. Seeing that, Yoro already enters the stance while he learned his lesson in a hard way. Want to train his ability too, he activated his cheat.

Yoro: 'Clairvoyance!' He shouts in his head while his eyes can be seen glisten a bit in the dark.

When he looks at the attack, he can see it. He can see that the attack will change again in the next second. So he waits patiently and-

He succeeds to blocked it! But as soon as he rejoices in his heart, another attack is coming. So with clairvoyance still activated, he parried it again, again and again.

He can't help but make a smug grin when he sees a surprised expression on Chad's face. His heart is now jumping in the happiness for his accomplishments to use his ability properly in the mid of battles.

Chad: "what...what the hell is that," Chad said with tone indicate he can't believe for what he just saw with both of his eyes

Yoro: "it's just that I am a genius in the sword. Don't mind it too much" Yoro said with smugness before adding: "let's continue again" it is not that Yoro wants to show his abilities clearly to Chad. His ability can be said quite overpowered, but it comes to strain when he used it.

Back to Ad's green domain

Ad: "you sure you want to choose Clairvoyance?" Ad said with confusion. Ad knows that abilities are overpowered, but the cost of using it also huge.

Clairvoyance is an ability to see far in the future, for what will be happening, and prediction with little to no mistakes. But it's can strain your eyes too much and if you used it constantly, blind is the only outcome you will get.

Yoro: "I think you misunderstand here. While I technically want clairvoyance, what I really wanted is the only lesser ability of the real one" when he places his eyes on the ability, he immediately chooses it for his cheat. Yoro believes he doesn't need to see far in the future, it is ineffective and hard to use.

Yoro: "I just need to see some second to a half minute for what I need," Yoro said with a sly smile that he used when he planning something for his advantage.

Seeing that sly smile, Ad can't help but feel that Yoro wanted compensation for giving him the lesser one of the real ability. And he regrets he is right.

Yoro: "but as an alternate, I want the strain in the ability lowered until it won't harm my eyes in the long run" and before Ad can response, Yoro shamelessly adding: "oh, and I want it so the ability can grow with the training I do with it" with a grin, he stares at Ad for his reply.

Ad: "sigh... while you can lower the strain to a minimum, you can't add growth properties in-" before he can finish, Yoro interrupt him

Yoro: "and for that, I assumed you can take it from my available points right?" Yoro said with his grin grow wider when he sees Ad gritting his teeth in an annoyed fashion

But now, Ad is really confused. Inwardly, he thinks to himself: "is he really never read an isekai story before? Or he is just outright smart when comes to make a deal like this?..."

And so, the cheat for Yoro is chosen

Yoro asked Chad to spar is actually for two reasons.

While one is to sharpen and familiarize his swordsmanship that the original Yoro had trained at and store in his memories, the second reason is to train his cheat, clairvoyance.

The cheat he got is modified, it is so he can master it slowly but surely to the next level available. He knows he is going to be transmigrated as a human in the Eus. So he thinks having more power when you just transmigrated is tend to bring more harm than good.

Someone he hates is once said to him that: "something you get on your own tends last longer than the one that is given for granted" and regrettably, he agrees to it even until now.

Right now, Yoro is sitting with Chad by his side. Yoro's face full of sweat while his eyes redden from strain because using clairvoyance consecutively without stopping.

Different from Yoro, Chad beside him is still as vigorous as ever. If Yoro didn't fall to the ground in the mid-battle without being able to stand up again, maybe Chad would ask him to continue until sun right on top of their head.

That is just showing how much bigger Chad stamina is.

Holding a bottle of water, Yoro opens the lid and drink it without restraining himself as a noble or whatsoever. When the water is reaching half of the original volume, Yoro exhaling a breath of relief as he feels his stamina slowly coming back to him.

With a sudden thought pop out in his head, he turns to face Chad beside him. And then he asks with interest: "Hey Chad, how are my father, an aristocrat in the upper level, can befriending someone with peasant born like you?"

Taking reference in his past life, Yoro can expect at least discrimination and such can be happening in this world, Eus. If the social structure in a world is graded like this, an upper society will directly or indirectly degrade the lower one. So with that is happening, how can a peasant live peacefully in the academy without constant alert if he offended some big shot or not?

Chad, seeing the interesting glint in Yoro's eyes involuntarily let out a smile. He too when is young interested in how the world, Eus, was worked, so right now, seeing Yoro asking him about this is like seeing his younger self, making his heart filled with nostalgia

Chad: "no one knows when it is started..it is just...happening..." Raised his head to look up to the sky which now turning blue, he let out a happy smile. Look back at confused Yoro, he detailed "you know there is just one academy in this world, no?

Yoro who is being asked, nodded at him after he checked in his memories the fact about the academy.

Chad: "no one knows who built it, but the academy is sure is a place full of rivalry and friendship. Someone wise has said this: 'if you haven't attended the academy, then your youth isn't complete' that is" seeing Yoro even more confused by what he said, he can't help but let out an amused chuckle.

Yoro: "Ch, you are talking crap, Chad. I just want to know why did you aren't discriminated to befriended a noble and the otherwise of it" Feels annoyed, he narrows his eye to show how impatient he is right now.

Chad: "alright alright. Well, it is just we respect each other, that is all" taking off his eyes at Yoro, he looks at the massive mansion in the distance. "Your status won't mean a thing in front of pure power in the academy. "

Chuckling as remember something amusing, he added: "if you can't abandon your pride in there, you will just be ganged out by the one who can, and without true friends to be trusted, you will just be a sitting duck in front of hungry wolf pack" after that, he takes off his eyes from the mansion to stare back at Yoro who sitting beside him.

"And even if I am not as wise as your father or maybe even as smart as you, you must remember my word" stopping a while, he said with seriousness: "Money or status can't buy friendship, but even if it can, it won't last long and eventually destroyed when a true ordeal coming right to you..."

Smiling, Chad stretches out his hand to help Yoro stand up. "We will continue tomorrow, the morning has come, as well as my duty as a guard" Then he walked away with the back facing Yoro, who is standing still in there. Watching him as Chad wave his hand while didn't stop walking.

Yoro raised his head up to look at the rising sun. Without building or whatsoever in the vision, it somehow looks so fascinating.

Smiling happily, he walks away from that place.

All while he doesn't know, that someday, this happiness will be taken away from him. That he will be forcefully being faced with ordeal he doesn't want nor expected.
