*BAM*
His bedroom door being slammed close by that perverted girl. Well damn, what kind of servant whose enter his master bedroom without knocking?
Yoro: 'Didn't she being taught to have some manner?' thought Yoro while he doesn't want to admit his own fault too for not locking the door
Yoro: "How shameful" murmur Yoro to himself as he hurriedly pulls his pants back up while his face still red from embarrassment.
Finished examining his body, he finally alone in this room. He looks around to the room he was in until he realizes how fancy the room is. The wall is white clean with golden linings. The bed is big... way too big for people of his age. No, it's even bigger than what people have in the modern world of the 21st century and unexpectedly soft too.
On the left side of the room, a window to the outside can be seen. He takes a glimpse to the outside of this room and colourful scenery can be seen, there is very vast green yard adorned with flower with many variants here and there with a fountain in the centre of it. Whoever design this scenery, he sure put a lot of thought and effort to make it be like this.
Back to the room, there are shelves on the right side of the room, filled with books whether it is an old or new one, written in unfamiliar and yet, familiar word at the same time. Walking there, he takes one of the books randomly and opens it.
*Knock knock*
???: "Excuse me young master, have you done?" Came a muffled sound from behind the door. Without taking off his eyes from the book, he said
Yoro: "You can enter now" and as he expected, from behind the door, appeared a girl with age not exceed 13, with the brown hair which falls to her hips and round lovely eyes. Her posture is firm and elegant at the same time. Her lips are red as a cherry and baby fat still can be seen from her cheeks. Overall, she is cute and it can be predicted that she will be a fine lady in the future.
Yoro: "What do you want from me, Cecilia?" After searching in his memory about the identity about the girl in front of him, he takes a glimpse of her face, which is still red from shame, for a seconds before his eyes went back to the book in his hand as he starts to flip the pages on the book.

The girl whose the name is Cecilia, seeing her young master that was screaming like a girl before, and the one who reading books in his hand while keeping cool facial expression right now, it feels like seeing a coin from a different side. It's confusing but a wonderous experience at the same time.
Regaining her cool, she opens up her mouth to begin explaining her reason to come here, just to see her young master throwing the book in his hand to the wall with a crumped face.
Realizing he has done something rude, he apologizing before she can ask what is wrong with the book.
Yoro: "I am sorry Cecilia, please continue," he said with bitter an expression as he picks up the book from the floor to put it back in the shelf where it belongs.
Cecilia: "You sure you okay, young master?" Cecilia said with concern. Hearing that Yoro just nods his head as a sign. Then like a cue, she begins explaining why she is here while Yoro's hearing her attentively.
========================
Yoro: "A dinner?" Yoro inquiries with a confused expression.
Cecilia nods as a response and starts detailing the event which will be held at this mansion. "Yes, Lord Ehren will arrive tonight from his duty on the eastern territory"
Yoro: "Hmm... so, my father will come home soon..." He murmurs as he searching in his memories about the person he called father in this world.
In his memories, Yoro's father, Arnold Ehren, is a man with a good disposition. He is a man with honourable nature in the exterior, who always help his subject who in need. But his nature in the inside? He never knows.
It is because the previous owner of this body is a boy with an abnormally weak body. Even if he can do activities, all the same, he can't stay awake for too long, or he will faint abruptly. He has this disease since he was born and both of his parents have a headache because of that. They have tried all means but no results coming. That is until finally, someone gives a suggestion to them.
This person said to them there is maybe a cure for their kid. It's a pill which is produced at the domain of the demon to cure the demon who has this disease. And while both of his parents know this thing really exists and worked, they doubt it will have worked for a human, a first human at that, who has this disease.

But, while they don't believe it, they don't have a choice but to try. The first reason is while the pill is expensive for a normal peasant, Arnold is noble, and a high one at that. As a marquis, Arnold can easily pay the price plus the shipment fee they need to pay. While the second reason is they racing against time. It's calculated the previous owner of this body will die at the age of ten, so when the previous owner just has 2 years to live, they don't have a choice but to try.
And guess what? he got well! His parents elated with this news and throw a party. It's not big, but it shows how happy they were with this development.
The previous owner lives happily after that, he tries many things he can't do when he is sick. And one of the hobbies he likes the most is swordsmanship. That is until one night ago.
The pill may seem to work at first, but the incompatibility of the user make the pill turn from the cure into a poison. The people around, including the doctor who check him, didn't realize it because it started to played the effect nine months later. While the poison effect is slow, but it surely brings him closer to death, all while the poison didn't affect him in any way possible. So the previous owner didn't realize this until the second he died.
After that, the poison mysteriously disappears like cancer with a died host. So when the morning comes and days has changed, the people in this mansion didn't realize that this the owner of this body has died.
Yoro: 'well, at least he died without remorse after living happily for more or less one year' he murmured to himself.
Cecilia: "Hmm? You said something young master?" Cecilia inquiries.
Yoro: "No, I am just talking to myself" he denies. After thinking for himself for quite a while, he realizes Cecilia still standing there waiting patiently for him until he is done.
Yoro: "I will be coming there Cecilia, sorry for left you hanging there in a while" he apologizes. Cecilia who hears his word just shakes her head.
Cecilia: "Young Master, you shouldn't apologize too much, it is a normal thing for me. Because as your vassal, it is my duty to serving you wholeheartedly" Cecilia said with a smile while she tilted her head to the side.
Hearing that for the first time didn't make Yoro feel shame, no, not at all. And his face definitely didn't go red because of that mere word from a cute girl. Definitely not at all...
Yoro: "You can leave now Cecilia," Yoro said as he turns his head to the side.
Cecilia who see a tinge of pink in his face, just smile sweetly before bowing her head "Then, excuse me young master" then she back down to the door and close it.
Yoro, seeing she has gone, slumped to his bed while covering his face with his hands. "What I am gonna do around her now, that things have gone like this..." as he stares at the ceiling, he reminiscing thing that happened in the last hour.
He sighs as he thinking of that. "With an adorable girl like that around, how can I reach my goal as a villain...?" Realizing thinking to himself like this is useless, he raises his body to picks the book which he threw before to the ground.
And while all that is happening, Yoro doesn't know, behind the door to his bedroom, lean a brown haired girl with cute facial features that overheard his monologue. When she heard the word 'villain' from her young master, her eyes widen for a second before she smiling sweetly but creepy at the same time.
Cecilia: 'don't worry young master, even if you declare a war to the whole universe, I will be there to watch your back fufufu...' she then left happily with humming can be heard from her mouth

Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.

Monsters roam wastelands and dungeons, subsisting off unfortunate travelers, local fauna, and sometimes even entire towns! What magical wonders will its adventurous citizens find? This Summoning Japan inspired work will follow the United States as it is summoned to a New World.
