I was back in Ohio , when I was still studying in 8th grade , unknown of what was about to happen. When I still loved that person who later gave me nightmares , who snatched my smile , my everything . I was so blind in love with that person that I couldn't see what his real personality was. It was the day when I finally found what he really was , I shivered and trembled .Was this a nightmare , because if it was then I want to get out . That person appeared in front of me smiling .I stepped back and ran , I could hear laughter from behind where that person was standing . Please save me someone , anyone Alex , Bess, Mason. Suddenly that person appeared in front of me

"Where are you running to my sweet Katie , the main fun is still left " That person said . My vision turned suddenly I was not standing in the school ground but I was in that person's home . Tears fell down my cheeks . I screamed on top of my voice , struggled to get out of here . Alex , save me please . Alex , Alex , but I couldn't ask for Alex's help anymore , I hurt him so much. My nightmare broke and I was back in reality Alex hovering over me , I hugged him hard . I didn't want him to let go , I felt as if I let him go then he will disappear.

I didn't want him to disappear . I looked at his face taking everything in . I wanted to confirm that the dream was over , tears fell down my eyes , and it was not a dream but a nightmare . I kissed Alex , he was real . The hell was over , I hugged him crying on his chest .

"I am not lying please believe me ." I said sobbing

"I believe you Kate , I know that you didn't lie" Alex said politely , I cried more and more . After crying for I don't know hours, I finally got tired and fell asleep , still hugging Alex . This time I didn't return to that place which I hated so much.

The sunlight filled my room . I opened my eyes slowly , rubbing my eyes . I felt a heavy thing was put on my arm and stomach. I elevated a little to see what it was , there was a hand on my stomach . I looked to my left Alex was lying there still sleeping adorably . I tried to get my arm under him , but ended leaning closer to him . When I finally gotten my arm out under him I slowly moved his arm and got out under him to find that Bess was lying on my right . I slowly wiggled my way out of bed and put down one of my foot because of the unbearable pain , I let out a small but high voice

"Ouch!!!!!" which woke both Alex and Bess

"Kate , what happened ?" Alex asked in a worried tone but was rubbing his eyes

"Nothing , nothing much I just forgot that my foot was injured." I said , he looked angry all of a sudden and grabbed me by my wrist and made me lay down on bed , very roughly

"Ouch ! What are you doing Alex it hurts " I said to Alex his eyes were glimmering with anger

"Oh! It hurts does it , but how come it didn't hurt when you put your foot down on pieces of glass with force . Why didn't it hurt then ?" He asked harshly , tears threatened to come in my eyes .

"It did hurt Alex , it hurt like hell but it was better than what had happened , I will take this kind of pain thousand times over that thing " I said my voice trembling

"What thing are you talking about Kate , tell me . I am always here for you ." He said softly this time, maybe he feared that I am going crazy that is why he asked politely

"I am not lying please believe me, he is lying not me, weren't you all supposed to be my best friends. He is the bad guy not me." I blabbered not making any sense to Alex. Bess put a hand on my forehead trying to sooth me

"We believe you, I know you are telling the truth. I know that he is the bad person in this . We are your best friend so we believe you , we do right Alex" Bess said looking at Alex

"Yes Kate I believe you , I know you are not lying so please tell me what happened ." He said and let me go I sat up and looked at Alex , Bess squeezed my hand

"He knows you are not lying , nothing will change after you tell him about that. I promise you Kate , trust me ." Bess said I looked at Bess, I shook my head as in for a no

"I trust all of you , its not matter of trust -" Alex cut me off

"Then what is it Kate " He asked his anger returning

"Let me complete , I want to tell you everything and believe me I want to do but if I do now when he is coming here ,then what I suffered for, to become who I am now would be in vain . I know I am not exactly trustworthy as I am supposed to be, thanks to the breakdown I had yesterday but please will you wait till tomorrow . I promise I will tell you everything as soon as we reach home tomorrow ." I said collecting myself, which was very difficult

"This has something to do with Thomas Melrose doesn't it , will you please tell me already " He asked

"I promise Alex tomorrow , I won't lie and I will be the one to approach you so please , ask Bess whenever I promise to tell something I always tell." I looked at Bess for confirmation and she nodded

"I trust you Kate , I know you won't back down on a promise so I don't need Bess's confirmation ." He said holding both of my hands

"Just promise me something Alex you will listen to everything patiently and won't leave me ." I asked

"What the hell is this secret Kate , you look scared to death?" He asked

"I am scared to death Alex that is why the question , you would not leave me not matter what will you ?" I asked again

"No I will not leave you no matter what ." He answered , I immediately hugged him

"Thank you , Alex" I said and backed up

"Let's have fun today shall we."I said suddenly

"What do you mean by that ?" Bess asked , I stood up with very difficult and said

"We are going to an amazing and exotic place today , so come on get up" I said suddenly cheerfully , this may be the last time I can enjoy with him .

"But where ?" They both asked in unison

"Come on get up and get ready we are leaving in 30 minutes , Bess get James ready ." I ordered Bess , I tried to step forward but due to my wound I couldn't was going to fall when Alex saved me

"How are you going to walk Kate when you can't even take a step ?" Alex asked

"That isn't a problem Alex , I will walk properly even if it hurts." I said

"Why are you going this far ?" Alex asked . I looked at him seriously and said

"Because this may be the last time we will go out like this , so just get ready." I stood up straight even though it hurt like hell I still walked properly

"Let me heal you then?" Alex asked

"No, please don't Alex the scars that will come out of this wound will be a remember of what I had gained." I replied , he didn't understand but the truth is he won't understand till I tell him what happened .

"Come on !!!! Stop wasting time and get ready already ." I said breaking the tension , they both got up .Alex said goodbye to go home and change , Bess waited for him to leave.

"Kate , are you feeling alright ?" She asked her tone tense , I smiled sadly

"No , Bess I am not I am really torn right now but , I need to do this or I won't get a chance in the future ." I answered

"Kate whatever happens I am always here for you ." She assured me , I felt like crying why wasn't she there when I was in Ohio , I thought.

"Thanks Bess , now get James ready and yourself ready too and come back then we are leaving ." I said and pushed her with no strength out of the room . She smiled and went out . When I turned around I saw mom standing around.

"Kate are you alright " Mom asked , I wanted to scream NO , but instead I chose to answer

"Yes , of course mom I am alright never feeling better ." I said

"When you hurt yourself and then lost consciousness you kept repeating two names ." She said mysteriously , I broke into cold sweat .

"What are they ?" I dared to ask

"Alex but I am not worried about that , I am worried about the other name you took ,……………Thomas ." She said , I looked away

"I don't have control over whose name I would take in my dreams."I said

"But something must have happened that you took the other name ?" Asked mom

"Thomas is transferring to my class ."I told the truth her eyes widened

"What ! We need to change your school then , why did you not tell me earlier?" She asked

"Mom we are not changing school and that's final." I said with a defied look

"Are you sure you will be able to handle it?"She asked worried

"Mom , I am sure of it ." I answered

"How is your foot wound ?" She asked

"Not good." I answered

"Let me take a look at it." She said and supported me to the room .She lifted one of the legs and unwrapped the bandages , there was dried blood on the bandage .She examined it for a while and declared

"If we bandaged very carefully and properly than it won't be a problem , if you were to walk for hours." She said

"Mom please then bandage it properly I need to walk for hours today ." I requested

"So , where are you taking them?" She asked while she got cotton , antiseptic , medicine and bandage .

"To the amusement park ." I answered

"Amusement park but why ?" She asked

" To enjoy of course " I answered

"But with your wound you won't be able to enjoy , Why not change it for other day? " She asked

"I can't change it to any other day ." I replied by this time she already had finished bandaging me up.

"Why ?" She asked, before I could answer bell rung . Saved by the bell as people call it. I was ready now . I had wore shoes as to minimize the exposure or pain . I perfectly and normally walked and opened the door . All three of them were standing there. I moved forward and asked

"Shall we go?" And I met my answers with three nods. As I was preparing myself to walk down the stairs slowly , Alex suddenly carried me like a princess and put me down when we got down.

"Why did you do that ?" I asked

"Because I know that , that wound should be hurting like hell and something tells me we have to walk all day so save your energy for the rest ." He said , I nodded and hailed us a cab . I gave directions to the driver while the rest were settling inside the cab. James sat in front while us three had to accommodate in the back. I was sitting at the end with Alex beside me and then Bess. The ride to the amusement park took 45 minutes . Throughout the journey silence remained in the car , no one can tell by looking at us that we all are friends. Many different things haunted us all.
