Have you ever watched The Great Dictator, in which Charlie Chaplin starred in? In the movie, he makes a speech. "The misery that is upon us is but the passing of greed," he states.

The ones before us have done well. They have paved the way for us. They have shown us which way is correct, and which way is wrong. They have made history. They have done great deeds, and they have also done great mistakes. We learn from them.

We should not let them always make the choices for us.

Time has passed. The world has shifted - nay, it is constantly shifting. It is changing, revolving continously. What was deemed acceptable or an easy solution to a problem 10 years ago may no longer work nowadays - due to resources being used up, due to cultures changing, due to what society deems acceptable twisting - but remember this. There are now new solutions. Perhaps better solutions, perhaps worse solutions. But there are now new solutions, Don't be a stick in the mud. The world has changed, and we need to change with it. We need to adapt.

We need to evolve.

The recent (not really) state elections has uprooted a substantial part of the old generation, filling it with new blood. Filling it with people with different ideals.

Factor One: The New Blood.

It is morning as Rob M. Spel walks down the corridor towards his office. Having been nominated as a new member of the Senate, there is another long day of debating and long arguements with others ahead of him.

It's annoying.

The Road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions.

He had campiagned to join the Senate because he wanted to change this country of his. By introducing new laws, or by using his influence as a member of the Senate, he would be able to slowly change his country from the inside. That was the dream.

But there is no progress. A foot through the door, yet the occupants will never let you in.

And oh, there is always a little chink in something good that will be exploited, or a what-if scenario is expounded and seeded into the hearts of humanity, etc, etc...

Or even ad hominem or bulverism, and in the heat of the moment no one realises it, or it is "simply someone you can't afford to offend", and in fact-

Hindsight is a natural 20. He knows that he has been guilty of using it once or twice by accident. Reputation. Appearance. FIrst Impressions.

Has he always been so tired?

He rests a hand against the door handle and enters his office.
