《HoneyComb》Trapping and napping!

"Something got trapped in my poorly hidden trap, I'm not sure whether it's a retarded winter slime or I'm actually skilled at this trapping thing." Though I'm not confident that I caught something yummy or point-filled, I still get slightly excited as I approach the trap that set off.
"This has me thinking, could I just be God like by trapping things?... Well, no. Eventually I'm gonna get less points and will run out of powerful creatures. But if I do get powerful, then what? World domination? No, that would waste my time."
I land next to the pit and stare down it, though it's dark, I can see almost perfectly with my compound eyes. In the pit was another frog thing, this sets a damper on my mood. Though I noticed something else which did, he had a giant fly in its mouth. "The frog is slimy, but the fly isn't, so I'll just eat the fly. Hmm, why does a fly seem so appetizing? I know there are carnivore bees like those vultur ones, but I'm not sure about myself… I could be the pinnacle of bees, after all, who knows how many years and what the effect of magic had on my species evolution. I guess I'm an omnivore, if not, I'll be a deadevore."
The frog was killed by one of the spikes, but the fly is still alive, although it's stuck on the frog's tongues."Oh, I feel you mate. Anyways, I'll put you out of your misery" I fly down and carefully land on a spike next to the fly. The fly is exhausted but still struggles, I use my magic to freeze the frog's tongue and break it to free the fly, though the fly is too exhausted to escape, so instead it causes itself to tumble down the base of the pit.

"I should've thought that through. It could've escaped."
I carefully crawl down and grab one of the fly's wings and tear it off, this causes the fly to struggle more despite its exhaustion. "Stop complaining, I can't have you fly away my little snack. And you lose your leg privilege" I tear off the limbs of the fly then grab and fly out the pit and hide it on the tree in my base. I then fly back towards the frog and pull it out of the pit and reset it, I bring the frog back towards the base and set it next to the fly.
"Don't worry fly, you won't die, instead you're a test subject. I'll use the frog as compost for the flower." I say to myself. I push the frog off the edge and it makes a thud when it hits the ground."I'll bury it later for the flower" I focus on the fly for now. I waddle towards the front of the fly so it can see me, when it spots me it starts wobbling to escape.
"This feels like torture, but I need you to bite me" I freeze my own leg with my ice shield magic and shove it in the Flys mandibles, causing it to bite down. Utsav mandibles peirces the ice like butter before slicing part of my leg off.
"Eh? Hey! I didn't say disable me! Your luckly I only put the tip of my leg in… though your luck ends here" I push the fly off the tree onto a lower branch below then bounce off into the snow. I fly down and cut between the flys head and thorax, killing it."I hope that part grows back… its kinda awkward feeling and I'm slightly unbalanced even though only a part on my leg came off."

[You have killed an insect. You gained 2 physical points]
"Huh? Insect, not monster? I guess this system thinks of certain creatures differently." I start munching on the flys body and start things."I gotta learn more about… mmm, this fly is good… anyways, the system is strange, it counts collect pollen for the quest, but ignores the nectar… oh well, the point and… category system is interesting. What's the difference between an insect and a monster? I'm an insect, definitely, so does that change anything?"
"Ooh, this is slightly confusing… ugh… how does the system affect my body and evolution? I'm a normal bee, I got the three head eyes and everything, which does slightly confuse me. I can use magic which means my species can too, would that affect my biological structure? My stomach is different from regular bees, definitely…" I start grooming my tongue as I get full from the fly, removing any possibility of spreading a disease… not that I need to prevent it. I'm all alone.
I hide the rest of the fly in the snow to prevent it from rotting, then bury the frog's corpse next time the flower.
"How do I use the points I get?... this really confuses me… huh, this is a weird feeling… I got the sudden edge to return to the nest… but why!? I don't even know where it is…" I start pondering the reason as I fly up towards a tree branch before getting shot out of the air by falling snow."ow! Or not now… man, that's just mean tree… hold on, is it getting warmer? When did I get such a perception of temperature… oh f- everythings coming together"
I quickly start digging a hole in the snow and bury myself."It's hibernation! My species must be built for cool environments so the heat slows them, so they hibernate… reverse hibernation? I have to be safe… I don't know how long I'll sleep for… I'm tired… why now all of a sudden, why would I be born… so close to the warmer season?..."
My consciences fades as the feeling of-

An Unbound Soul
When Peter suffers a too-close encounter with a truck, he finds himself reborn in another world. At first glance it is a perfect fantasy land. There's magic to play with, elves singing in the forest and a hyperactive catgirl neighbour. There's even a System that lets him earn skills and level up. But it isn't long before he notices that the world is far too perfect. Just why is everyone so nice? Can Peter accept the alien morality of this world's self-proclaimed protector, or will he seek to overthrow her? Steps of the Immortal Tree
Evan stood on a hill, staring calmly at the gate of his former clan. A crowd waited behind him, some eyeing the clan in an unresigned manner, others looking at their spiritual support. Some of the young children shivered at the gnawing cold. Wind howled in his ears, seemingly deploring his fate. A silvery cloud drifted over the mountains surrounding the compound. The roar of a river could be heard from underneath its frozen surface. He had reincarnated many years ago. Hailed as a prodigy from his youngest age, Evan had seemingly tread on a path to invincibility. He had gotten married with his childhood sweetheart and had cultivated with a group of friends, forming a considerable power of his own. Yet now, here he was, devoid of any path to move forward, with his energy locus destroyed. His wife was dead and his branch had been kicked out of the clan. He looked at his progeny that had been entrusted to him. The baby seemed content in his father’s strong arms, too young to understand anything but the warmth of the father’s beating heart. Signaling to the people behind him, he turned around and the procession gradually disappeared in the distance, as the sun gradually set and the stars acted as a guide. --- Author-san here. I originally started this novel on another account, but lost the login information for it, so I'll be restarting this story here. Thanks for understanding! This is my first fiction, so I appreciate any and all feedback! (^^) The cover picture is by Yuji Himukai (as pointed out by Truis). I found it on the internet. Please contact me if you want to have it taken down. If anyone is interested in drawing a cover, send it to me. I'll put it up if I feel it represents the book well, with your name in the credits.
