This is not fair! If my ice won’t kill you what will!?
The frog struggles but is unable to move from being covered in ice.
I don’t get it, my magic is a laser of pure ice, yet you still live?
…
Of course you won't say anything, your mouth is frozen… and you're a frog. At least your survival instinct is stronger than your one to kill or we both would’ve died from your smoke thing… well it’s covered with ice so you can’t use it anymore.
The frog struggles even harder causing the ice to crack.
Oh, I could probably just sting you.
I crawl up to the frog and angle my stinger to one of its frozen eyes.
This is uncomfortable, but it’s really the only way to kill you without the tongue getting in the way. Wish I had eyelids.
I plunge my stinger in the eye of the frog, ending it in an instant.
[you have killed an monster, gained 5 physical points]
Physical points? Oh right! The board said something about magic points when I ate snow… what do I do with them?… Can I even see my status? Uh, status, board, me, apprasile? No? Ok.
I barely give an attempt at seeing my status for I don’t really care, and I’m not sure if one even exists, but what do I do with points then? Ugh… I’ll try later, and I wanna get my stinger out the frog's eye, it’s disgusting.
I pull out my stinger then turn towards the frog, I grab it tube because it is the only point I can latch on to then start pulling it away from the tunnel's only pathway out. Once there’s enough space for me to fit through I let go of the frog.
After crawling out of the tunnel I see it's halfway till day from the moon's position. I start flapping my wings to fly off, trying to balance with the extra weight from the frog's tongue which is still stuck to my stinger.

Okay! Which way do I go? I think the moon is going that way, right? It is the middle of the night so it's hard to tell.
I start flapping off into the distance, observing the beautiful night that would be prettier with flowers and a nest full of honey and pollen… Why am I so interested in honey?
I haven't realized it before but all this time I've been so infatuated with honey, this is strange… I mean it is absolutely amazing and sweet… again!? What is this!? No. Forget it. It's probably because I'm a bee, so I'll accept it…
I shake my bee head as much as my neckless body can and remove these thoughts to focus on flying and hope my mind goes into autopilot, a great skill that is easy to learn when you go to school…
How'd I die? I was only 13! So young! An amazing future… or not, wasn't all that good, had two friends, never talked to them… MY XBOX ACCOUNT! NO! WHAT HAPPENED TO IT!? no… my Xbox friends… I'll miss you. Oh, my parents too, and my sister I guess… bee life is better.
But how I died, gotta think about that… I can barely remember my old life at all, just basic stuff. I most likely died on the bus, it would be the quickest death… that would mean my sister died too… could've been a school shooter… getting shot would probably hurt, so best not to remember.
Oh, I'm a bit sad for some reason, I should forget this session of thoughts, focus on now, not before. Maybe everyone else reincarnated, can only hope they reincarnated as bees too, being a human twice would suck… are there even humans here?
Ow! My stomach… I'm hungry. Why are there no flowers in this place!? And I have none left because I ate it all before the frog fight, and I don't wanna go back and eat the frog… not even sure if I'm even able to eat meat.

Could I eat snow again? I can apparently get magic points and level up my ice magic by doing it, don't know if I can do it forever though, be a bit overpowered.
I stop my wings and let myself fall into the snow.
Hope there's no stone, or shallow snow, maybe I should've flown down carefully.
I crash into the snow, luckily without crashing into a hidden stone or landing in shallow snow.
I open my mandibles and start devouring the snow in a swirling pattern until I cleared out a giant area of snow.
[You have eaten snow! Ice magic went up to lv3!]
[You have eaten snow! Ice magic went up to lv4!]
[You have eaten snow! Ice magic went up to lv5!]
[You now gain less magic points for fully leveling a skill!]
[You have gained 3 magic points!]
I clean my mandibles with my legs, I then use my tongue to wet my legs and clean myself to prevent any bacteria from collecting and causing the hive to get infected… Now that I think about it, pollen doesn't just turn to honey in your stomach does it? It's a magical world, so anything goes I guess. Why am I even cleaning myself? I won't be going to the nest any time soon, sadly.
Hmm, what do I do now? I'm lost, I have to eat snow, there's no pollen, can't go to any civilization or I might get killed… maybe I could make my own nest? I'm not a queen, but maybe I could aphid it and clone myself… somehow, I'm really lonely…
Maybe I should kidnap other insect larvae, ants did it on earth… not sure that the children will be of any use, and they might be smart enough to tell where not the same species… What if they can't eat honey? And there probably aren't any insects here in a frozen hell.

Nine-to-Five Villainy
Once upon a time, a man that flew through the skies as easily as any bird changed everything. Decades have passed since then, yet life remains depressingly normal for most. For Timothy Lewis and Amanda Collins, there's parties, high-school, family trouble, high-school, awkward crushes, high school, and, of course, their rising careers as supervillains. Perfectly normal stuff.
8 117Fantasia
Arwyn has just bought Fantasia, the first fantasy-based VRMMORPG, with 99% realism that you can play while you sleep. In the game, she becomes Fey, a moon elf starting in the magical Elvenwood. Join her (and her snarky narrator who likes to interject sarcastic comments in parentheses) on her exciting, often hilarious adventures inside this magical world full of every fantasy creature you've ever encountered in books, games, and movies, and a few that you haven't. Oh, and there's something strange about the NPCs in this game... See if you can figure it out before Fey does. (No, they are not self-aware AIs.) -Cover art credit goes to A. Noviant
8 151Dear Human
Nial of Grennport needs to get out of town because he just killed someone. In his own words, it was "a self defense thing." So he embarks on a pilgrimage to a mysterious magical shrine across the desert with ten other pilgrims. When the murders begin to happen, everyone suspects everyone else, and it becomes immediately clear that no one is who they claim to be. Who's the killer? Is it the pompous wizard? Is it the strange creature who's always invisible? Is it the girl Nial has a crush on? And who's next? NOTE: This work of high fantasy is complete at 120,000 words, and I'll be releasing a chapter every day or so, including weekends, unless something prevents me.
8 214Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.
8 420Junkyard Scavenger
Junkyard does not discriminate. This place where rejects gather is impartial to your past. Almost completely cut off from the Overworld, its limited resources put the residents at odds, as they struggle for each scrap they can get their hands on. You can decide to live in peace, but poverty, or try for a chance to leave. If you choose to leave, then be prepared to steal, plunder, fight, cripple, and kill if necessary. Gather items and become stronger. Crush your opponents as you take theirs for your own, and roll the weighted dice. Marco has watched for years how humans treat their lives like gambling chips. He saw delusion, confused with hope, and warnings falling on deaf ears. A million believing they are the one. Because don't you just need a few rare items to be unstoppable? Some EXP to dominate? Just a little luck? Surely, if you keep trying, fate will work out in your favor, no? Marco knows better than that. He's learned that patience is a virtue. He hopes others will listen; that they would learn. In time, things could be better. He plans to see to that himself. But when he meets Jeanne, their values clash. They both desire the same, yet their means differ. One would risk it all on a hunch, the other waits until the perfect moment. Does either understand the consequences of their methods? How does patience fare when time is not your ally? Do not hesitate. Doubt will drag you down. Beware of friend and foe. Because Junkyard does not forgive mistakes. A grimdark LitRPG story that's not just LitRPG, and not just grimdark. Updates about twice a week. Please feel free to leave some feedback. I'll appreciate it very much!
