We slowly approached the gryphon from behind this time would be different from all the other times we had hunted. Sakura would be joining us in the attack our goal was to do as much damage to the beast before he noticed what was happening it was our best chance of taking him down.

“ Sakura once we are close enough I want you to try to take out one of his eyes I'm counting on you. “

She nodded her head and we continued forward just looking at the beast it was magnificent its golden fur looked just beautiful next to its white fur that covered the head.

We were coming into range now I had a plan and I was hoping it would work I'm counting on dumb luck really as I know nothing of the anatomy of these creatures.

“ Nox once Sakura starts the assult me and you will attack one of its wings well try to injure it as much as possible so it cannot take flight. “

“ Yesss massster thisss one will inject itsss poissson into the beassst. “

Nox's poison paralyzed whichever part of the body it was injected into it acted quickly but it doesn't last long 5 minutes at most.

Coming into range now Sakura took off pouncing at the best as its head was picking at one of the humans.

“ GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA “

The gryphon's roar was deafening as sakura sunk one of her claws into its eyes.

“ Now Nox lets go “

Making sure to use the confusion of the beast me and Nox both pounced onto the gryphons right wing. Covering my hand in as much mana as possible I use a large chopping motion on the gryphon I could feel some of the flesh sever as my hand came down.

Nox sank her fangs into the beast injecting her poison I was thrilled we had done it or so I thought. Never ever underestimate a beast this powerful it had gone through more that enough battles like this. Swinging its powerful tail it hit me straight in the chest knocking the wind out of me.

“ Guhhhh “

I flew backwards a couple of feet until I hit a rock feeling like I got hit by a truck and coughing up some blood.

Some of my ribs were broken there was no way around that I could feel it I definitely am in no condition to keep going but, I have to or we could all very well die here. Gritting my teeth and picking myself up I looked towards the others.

“ Nox Sakura don't worry about me just keep going do not let the gryphon recover “

“ But master we must retreat you are seriously injured “

“ Do not worry Sssakura massster will be ok I trussst his judgement asss should you. “

Sakura didn't look convinced but in the end she gave in and continued her assault on the gryphon. The gryphon by no means had given up either it was constantly flailing it tail around hoping to hit Nox while it constantly slashed at Sakura in its frenzy. They both were doing a good job of dodging until the gryphon had had enough it let out another deafening roar.

“ GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA “

This time however it also pounced onto Sakura it had her pinned down under one of its paws.

Shit I wasn't expecting this I thought it was starting to die I had no choice but to help again.

“ Nox can you inject your poison into it again? “

“ Yesss massster but it will only lassst a couple of sssecondsss “

“ That's fine do it “

Nox lunged forward sinking her fangs into the gryphon's arm its eyes darted around looking for the culprit. Using its confusion I saw my chance I ran as fast as I could infusing my legs with mana. Once I was in front of the beast I kicked its paw off of Sakura and yelled.

“ RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNN! “

As Sakura darted off I filled my left and right hands with as much mana as I could until I felt as if my hands would be blown off. Once I was finished I plunged both of my hands as deep into the chest of the gryphon as I could. Feeling some resistance from its ribs I applied more strength until they finally gave in. Feeling for its heart I grabbed it and squeezed as hard as I could. By now the poison Nox injected started to wear off and I saw the gryphon realizing what was happening now it let out another roar before opening its mouth and trying to swallow me whole.

I could feel its breath on my back the moment its life gave out pushing the gryphon off me I was exhausted. A few ribs broken and I'm pretty sure I broke some of my fingers. I called out to the other two looking for them.

“ Sakura Nox where are you! “

“ We are here massster we are fine “

“ Master you are an idiot I was fine there was no need to endanger yourself please promise me you wont do something so dangerous again. “

Seeing the tears in Sakura's eyes I was confused never had I seen someone display this much emotion to me.

Slowly reaching towards her head I started to stroke her fur.

“ Sakura I am sorry I won't do something so dangerous again forgive me “

Sakura looked up towards me and gave me a nudge with her snout.

“ You better not because next time whatever monster we are fighting will be the least of your worries “

Haha her threat was actually kind of worrying I have no idea what I was in for.

“ Let us go back home you two I need to rest some of my ribs and fingers are broken I won't be able to do much for a while. “

Nox looked at me strange for a bit before saying.

“ Massster me and Sssakura can heal you asss you do usss “

Well that solves some of my worries I really didn't know how I was going to take care of my daily needs with these injuries thankfully they won't last too long. As I picked myself up I gave Sakura and Nox a little nudge it was time for us to go back home.

“ You two did well I'm proud of both of you “

Smiling at the two of them I could feel there happiness through our connection we have grown close these few years. Were just like a real family one that I had always dreamed of.

Once we had gotten back to our cave and were starting to doze off something strange happened. A box popped up in front of me I was quite confused at first until I read it.

Closing my eyes I thought about it after all this was a big decision. Finally settling on one I clicked on Eastern Shadow were in store for a surprise I guess. Soon after I clicked on that box another popped up.

Once again I asked Sakura which one she would like she only responded with.
