《Waiting for the Sun》String pulled

The nine individuals are frightened to death. They did not expect to witness such a thing. However, the youth who murdered the young man is standing leisurely and relaxedly, as if he did not just commit any murder.
Cayden was aware of the stares he’d been receiving. But he brushed it all off and said,
"Let’s go." He did not let down his vigilance. He was always careful of his surroundings. His eyes kept searching for any signs of movement. For any zombies launching surprise attacks or for the men who just left.
"Where are we going?" The shrill voice of the middle aged man echoed. It was probably a bit higher since the zombies on the other side reacted. Cayden coldly glared at the middle aged man, who shrank back by taking a few steps away.
"Right now I don’t have time to be a hero and rescue you all." Cayden was met with suspicious eyes above the fear.
Cayden shrug. "I won’t ask you to trust me, and I won’t need trust you either. But let me get something straight. " The way he threw the gun and sent cold daggers to each of the nine individuals completely intimidated them.
"I will kill all those guys." He boldly announced. "They sabotaged me and my friends and left us to be eaten by the zombies. I swear I will get back to them, " he paused. The strong force he exerted to grit his teeth was so strong he could taste blood from his gums.
Cayden is the type to bear grudges. And he won’t stop until that grudge is paid back.
"You better stay out of my way if you don’t want me to kill you just like what I did to him."
The extreme killing intent made all nine individuals shiver. The young man in front of them is obviously young – his face has a hint of immaturity to it – but the way he looked at them felt like a heavy gun was pointed in their temples. The fear of offending this youth is greater than what they felt from the rough men earlier.

The nine individuals did not voice any objection and nodded fervently. Cayden eased his face.
He walked ahead first, saying "Follow me." The others look at each other, hesitant about whether they should follow or not. But after he threatened them and the fact that he had just saved the two high school girls earlier, they realized this youth was not out to kill them.
Or else he wouldn’t have wasted an effort to save the two girls and killed them on the spot.
They walked deeper into the forest and arrived at a place where a small factory company is located. The building is relatively small, but the fence is sturdy and high, built to keep outsiders away. Cayden easily found an opening and let all nine enter before he himself came inside.
When they got inside, a strong odor came into their nose. It was gasoline accompanied with strong smell of liquer and lumber. The gasoline is from the machinery and large equipment inside the factory. Piles of lumber are seen in every corner. There are also copper, steel, and large saw mills. The factory is quite dark, so it was hard to see the entirety of the area.
"You guys stay here." Cayden paused. He was searching for the food storage of the factory.
Right beside the contractual office, there was a small storage where stacks of cans, bread, noodles, and water were packed. It was actually meant to be given to the contractual workers of the factory. However, not one human is present in the area. All nine people see the supplies of food and hurriedly grab their own sandwiches, bread, cans, and other things.
"I think this is enough to last you for ten days."
Sometimes, desperate people are so easily swayed. They were hungry, tired, and thirsty. After Cayden gave them food and water, they were instantly overjoyed and thanked him from the bottom of their hearts.

"Don’t ever try to peek outside or venture out. If you hear someone coming, hide in whatever place is suitable for you. Make sure to carry your supplies of food with you at all times. If zombies come in, you can shut yourself in that cargo. "
Cayden pointed to the green metal cargo right opposite them. "Just search this place upside down if you have to when you want to find some sleeping bags or tents. Remember, don’t get out. Wait for me to come back. "
All nine of them are huddled together. Their mouths are full just from munching sandwiches and drinking water. Cayden took one bottle of water and drowned its contents.
He was about to leave them when a soft voice called out to him.
"Where are you going?" This question is self evident. Cayden gave the high school girl a cold stare. It dawned on her what he said to them earlier, and she understood. She lowered her head and continued to eat the sandwich in her hands.
"Will you come back in ten days?"
Cayden shrug. "Yes and no. I will come back probably five to six days later to check on you. If you valued your lives, stay here." That last sentence is filled with cold malice that everyone detects. They did not ask another question and just nodded.
Cayden did not say anything else either and trotted out of the factory. He went back to the forest after ensuring no one was following him. He scans the surroundings for any possible movements.
Nothing. The forest was quiet. Too quiet.
When he reach the end of the forest, that’s when he detects movement in the distance. There was a faint sounf of shuffling garments before the figure hid cleverly behind the building.
Cayden lowered his head to let out a small smile.
Good.
He was seen.
Now all it needs to do is walk towards the café and be captured.
Repeat the whole process, but this time – those guys will die, not him. He was excited to execute the plan formulated in his mind.
He walked straight to the café and noticed tiny details he wasn’t able to detect when he walked here with Pete. The figure that he saw watching him is now tailing him a few meters in front.
Cayden pretended not to notice him and gazed intently at the café.
The figure must have understood that he was going inside since he darted behind the bushes and turned a corner to get into the café first.
