***Bloodrose Kingdom***
***Kimura***
“Then let us begin” the King said as he reaches towards his pocket and pulls out a small book. He opens it and starts a chant as purple lights emit from the small book.
I watch with a blank face as the king becomes paler with each word. “Is this bad?” I thought to myself. Then, the king finishes chanting as he falls down limp. I was about to run over to help him, but not before the purple lights swirling around the room flows into my body.
The moment the purple light comes into contact with my skin, I feel as if thousands of needles are pricking my body, each one more painful than the last, Then it ends. Or so I thought, this time black substance oozes from the pattern on the floor, it slowly creeps up to my body, as its cold slimy texture rubs on me. Then it stops where my heart is.
The king regains his composure as he stands up and waits for me while saying that it’ll be fine and let the magic do its… well magic…
The black substance from before forms a cone shape and drills into my heart, making me leak a scream of agony.
“Aaaughh!”
I shout as the light escapes my eyes and everything grows dim.
***king Lyon Pov switch***
“Hehehehe, Everything went smoothly, now then..” said the king while he reaches into his robe and pulls out a ring from it. At first glance, it may look like a normal silver ring, it actually has an “enslavement curse” enchantment in the interior of the ring.

The king walks up to the boy as he slips the ring onto his finger.
“Now… we have to get rid of that Theo guy, he is definitely suspicious, being able to use magic the moment they were summoned.”
***Theo POV***
Right now, we are following the servant that the king ordered to lead us to the treasury. He is walking a few paces in front me, wearing a butler uniform.
He stops in front of an old looking blue door with gold linings. The door has a hole in it, almost the size of a fist. The butler puts his hand in the hole as I feel mana being used. Activating mana sense, I can see him filling the door with mana.
With a load creak, the door opens as a room filled with weapons that emanate a weak pressure is revealed, Arcien’s voice was heard as I was admiring the collection.
“-These weapons… have spirits sealed in them, just like grandark-“
“Well.. then this is interesting… just like Grandark you say? Then, lets look for another Greatsword so we can become the universe’s first Greatsword dual wielder. I think…”
While I was talking, some of the boys immediately ran inside in search for a weapon that fits them. Though I can sense something more powerful deeper inside.
The butler speaks as I start walking in the direction of the strong energy. “Young Hero, I advise stopping there, going any further would turn you into meat paste”
Or so he said… but I ignored him and kept walking. I don’t feel any kind of overbearing pressure, but I do feel the presence deeper in there.
Reaching the end of the hallway, a slab of stone with a longsword embedded into it shows itself. The longsword is a sword with a black cross guard and a purple grip, around the sword, are a bunch of transparent, gold chains. Looking closer at it, I feel the mana emanating from it in great quantities.

‘If it’s a seal this strong, the weapon itself must be a strong one.’ I thought as my hand moved to touch the grip. Then, as soon as I placed my hand around it, the chains made a breaking sound as white smoke oozes from the stone. The white smoke circles around me and enters my body.
I feel some pain, though it isn’t enough to make me faint, it still hurts, but even if I could’ve withstood the pain, my vision grew dimmer with each second passing.
*Groan*
“Aaagh, what now”
I said as I realized I’m not in the room with the sword anymore. Where I am in, is just like the place where Father meets me. A white space, completely devoid of life.
While I was comparing, another presence lets itself be known.
“Welcome, master… No, I shouldn’t call you that yet. Not unless you have passed my test”
Turning around, a female with long flowing red hair and snow white skin wearing… Nothing? Reveals herself… Literally.
Her piercing red eyes stare at me as she put up a grin. “like what you see?” she said.
Leaking a sigh, I answered.
“So, about this so called Test of yours. How do we go about it?” Yes, I evaded her question but now isn’t the time for that. I still have to make my guns later.
Her eyebrows twitch as she finds that I’m not interested and literally gives ZERO shits. She says “Fight me, beat me, and be acknowledged as my new master”
I knew it. Heh, this’ll be easy. What can a spirit do to someone like me? Who almost has power equal to that of a god. I’ll end this quickly. Though I wanted a greatsword... I wonder how we’ll go about this… meh… I’ll just take a second one.
While I was thinking, she already changed into her armor. Wearing a crimson red set of armor, on her waist is the sword from earlier.
She pulls the sword out of the sheathe as she gets ready and takes up a stance. “May I know the name of the next fool who dares challenge me?”
‘This Cocky BITCH…’ I know I shouldn’t be offended but I really can’t let her go unscathed with such words of mockery.
Okay then, lets see if we could summon Grandark. Though I never mentioned it before, I can keep Grandark in my body as a sort of tattoo. He doesn’t seem to like it in the pocket dimension, he says that it’s lonely there.
Anyways, feeling Grandark on my back, I summon him, from other’s point of view, a big purple Greatsword would protrude from my back and hit the ground blade first.
Taking Grandark in my hand, I swing it in front of me to show my strength as the girl braces herself for the impact. The wind generated by my swing sends her flying into an imaginary wall, I speak.
“The name’s Theo, and I am a deusphage!”

Maker Of Power

Stories sang time and time again. Tales of magic powerful enough to rival whole kingdoms. And the people that wield that magic. Everyone knows them. The tale of Velacinir, the Great. The song of Alek, the Skilful. The Legend of Waner, the Lost Smith. The Myth of Kaveli, the Unifier. All people know these things. These Storys, Legends, Myths, Tales, Songs. And mostly everyone thinks they never happened. But they did. And I was part of them. All of them. I was there. I might not have been the one to kill the dragon. The one that found the skill of resurrection. The one that fought whole armies for their family. I might have not been those people but I was there. Because although I may have not done those things, the people that did it weren't created from night to day. They did not just appear. They were taught like everyone else. They were just better at the things that people taught them. That I taught them. Yes. I am not the one that songs are being written about. I may not be the one whose legends perdures even until today. But one thing I am. I am their teacher, their instructor. I am the one that made them what they became. I am... Who am I? I had many names through the ages, but there was one that stuck to me the most. I am the Maker of Power. But like the ones that I thought. I was also a normal person before everything that happened. Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
