《Living in my Own World!》Chapter 9 - The Adventurer's Guild Registration & Status Reveal?!

For the first time in 6 months or so, I woke up from my inn room's soft and comfortable bed to only the bustling noises and the brightness of the sun, and not some loud noise coming from a crack in the wall.
With a contempt look on my face, I began my day with a casual stretch and walked out the door, yearning for monster hunting. That was my goal today: monster hunting.
I walked through the ever-busy streets looking for the Adventurer's Guild. I was told by the Headmaster that it would be on the main road, but the main road is so long that it's impossible to find it! Until I did, and then I thought I was an idiot for not seeing the single largest building on the entire street. Smacking myself on the head, I walked in, and everyone inside gave me a weird look.
"Hey, kid, are you lost?" A burly man looked at me and asked, less than politely. I ignored him and kept walking forward towards the reception desk, where several receptionists work at once. The man didn't take it kindly, yet he only smirked but said nothing else.
The entire building was similar to the Academy, marble floors and wooden walls with a wooden roof on top. North of the reception desk was the entrance and some tables for people to sit down and chat after a long day of adventuring, I presumed.
Walking up to the desk, being a head or so taller than the desk itself, I had no trouble looking at the receptionist, a brunette girl in a 'dress'-like clothing that didn't go past the knees.
"Hello! I'm here to register!" I said to the receptionist. She looked at me with a face that had concern but confusion mostly written all over it.

"Oh, okay then. Uh, do your parents know about this?" The receptionist asked.
"They do, and they don't mind. I graduated from the academy, after all." I replied happily.
"Right, please enter that room over there. You'll be tested before you join the Guild like everyone else, in order to put you into a placement rank. This placement rank is your starting rank, and the person you'll be fighting is an S rank, so try your best. Your goal is to last at least 5 seconds or do any sort of damage when they start attacking you," She stated and then pointed to a hallway that had a room with 'Examination Room 1' on it. I nodded and headed towards it.
Once I went in front of it, I opened the door and it had a gym just like the Academy's but it had something in the middle that looked like a stage, but it was in the very center of the gym. Confused, I walked over to the woman that was in the middle of it, and she looked up with a weird look on his face. Paying it no mind, I headed towards the center with a grin on my face.
"Hello. My name is Fran, the person testing you today and also the vice guild master. Your goal, as you may know, is to either harm me or last 5 seconds or more. It will not be easy, but as always you can have the first attempt. Usually, it wouldn't be me doing this, but the person usually doing it is gone, so it's me today, another S rank," Fran explained. I already knew how I was going to win this, but I outlined it in my head once more.
First, I put some mana in my feet to increase my speed, and then, when I am behind them, I will put that mana to my hands instead, outputting a spell with Wind element, pushing her away. Then, I'd hope, she'd fall. As I learned in the Academy, the more mana you put in, the more powerful it is.

With a smile, Fran said go and immediately I put my plan into action. Putting a hundred thousand mana into my feet, I leaped forward before she had a chance to react. With a grin, the next thing I knew I was behind her, and, with the wind spell finished, I put more mana into it, and then it pushed her into the wall, making her go through the gym's wall.
I think I put too much mana into the spell. I thought to myself, wincing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The guild master was watching the entire time, without Kas' knowledge. Once he saw Kas' execution, he was sweating. Could the prophecy...?
He shook his head, it wasn't possible. Continuing the paperwork he had to do, he ordered that Kas become an immediate A rank adventurer, and only S rank if he wants to, because S rank means you'll be on the front lines of monster hunting at all times, therefore it was up to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Within an hour, he had the A rank and was offered S rank but he declined it because of how much work it was, being on the front lines. The entire premise of him becoming an adventurer was to have fun, and he couldn't do that if he was S rank, so he was left as A rank. Within another week, everyone in the entire Kingdom knew about his results from people hearing the noise in the gym, and at first, thought the instructor went overboard, but it was in fact Kas. After he walked out of the examination room, he was given several questioning looks, but he ignored them and went back to his room.
I guess it's nothing to worry about, for now. I sighed and thought to myself. The number of people that knew about him was growing steadily, so it won't be long until some not-so-friendly people take notice of me and begin to try to annoy me.
With a thought, he tried the [Status] spell on a hunch from his memories, which was a spell he randomly unlocked recently. And, it worked, so he was happy.
