《Living in my Own World!》Chapter 1

I woke up about 10 minutes ago, feeling dizzy and nauseous. I don't know why, but I can feel some memories grasping at me to come back, but whenever I try to grab them, they elude my grasp. Such is life, I guess.

After another 20 minutes, my nausea subsides and I start to stand when I hear a voice in my head.

Hello, User. I am the user assistant, AXIOM. You may already know about me because of your very few kept memories. As you have requested me to assist you, I will help you along your journey so do ask me any questions you may have.

I stared blankly into the open air. There was nothing to stare at but there was a random voice inside my head, but instantly I remembered who it was from a random memory. AXIOM, the user assistant that was created to answer any queries about anything in this world. I sighed, not knowing what is happening or where I am.

I was obviously in a house, however. The roof looked wooden, and, taking a random guess, it was my parents' house. A young girl walked into the room in a maid outfit, then turned her head to look at me. Her eyes went wide as she ran out of the room screaming something I didn't understand.

> Skill acquired, "Universal Language"

What is this? I thought to myself, a hundred times more confused than before. I decided to shrug it off, but realized immediately that I'm a very tiny person.

I started crying for some reason, even though that's not even close to what I wanted to do. While crying, I decided to observe my surroundings and put everything together.

Okay so, I'm very tiny, I cry a lot apparently, and this is a random house that I've never seen before. I seem to be very small, so I'd guess that I'm pretty young, but not too young. I don't even know how I'm speaking to myself, but I guess I'll figure it out later. For now, I need to find something to do.

You could always try to increase your power. Power can be increased in a multitude of ways. The main way people do it is by clearing dungeons, but I understand that a child shouldn't be doing that quite yet. For now, attempt to learn more about your surroundings.

Again, I was confused and scared that there was something in my head. I was less scared than before because of the memory of what this specific... thing is, but I still didn't know what it was or how to use it.

I can answer any question you give me, except for a select few things which I cannot tell you. Other than that, I have everything else.

So before, you asked me to learn more about my environment. Does that mean ask you? I asked while still worried about whether or not I'll ever be alone.

You can ask me anything, or you can learn on your own. Also, if you ask me to 'shut down' I can do so easily, with a similar 'start AXIOM' command. You can do commands by just thinking them.

Wait, if I can ask you anything, then why am I missing a majority of memories? I can feel the memories, I just can't access them.

I cannot answer your question in specific detail, however, your memories were taken by yourself, in order to 'live a good life.' If you knew about the things in those memories, you would only erase your memory yet again.

Scratching my head, I sighed internally as my crying finally came to a stop as a woman walked into what I assume is my room. The woman looked down at me with caring and kind eyes, and I assumed at that point she was my mother or someone close to it. Then, she started crying for some reason.

"I thought you were going to die, Kas!" she said as she hugged me tightly, to the point where breathing was just impossible. Confused, I stare at her with a tilted head.

The woman didn't even react to my confused face!

"M-mama?" I said to try to get her attention. I was never good at baby impressions, so I might just stop them soon and talk normally, even if the shock is too great for her.

"Y-you can speak? But you also don't remember me?" She smiled weakly, obviously wanting to cry even more because I didn't recognize her. The questioning tone in my voice probably gave it away. "Yes, I am your mother. I guess memory loss is a small price to pay for you surviving."

She looked a bit hurt, but other than that she was hopefully fine. Sighing, I decided to drop the act because I wanted to talk to my mother like a normal person. The memories I kept should help me survive but I do want to know where I am and what I'm doing here from my own parents.

"Sorry, what? Can you please explain where I am and what's going on?" I asked, preparing for the biggest gasp of a lifetime.

Spoiler alert: it was the longest gasp of all time.

"H-how can you speak so fluently? What happened to my child?!" She asked rhetorically. I can only hope whoever else lived here wasn't woken up if they were sleeping, but I can bet they were.

"I just can for some reason. My only memories are on this language and some other random stuff." Obviously, I couldn't tell her about my ability to know every language and the user assistant, so I didn't. I decided to just try to get some other information instead.

"I-I... A genius child?" She said shakily. Sighing, she continued, still shaky, "Okay, so, this is the Kingdom of Fos, and you live in an ex-noble family, the Ravenwoods. This world is called Terra, and it has magic and such."

Quite obviously shaking with excitement and also fear, she explained some other basics, while leaving the rest to the teachers. She told me about an academy of magic, academy for knights, and the guild. I was told about the basics of the world, the kingdoms she knew of, and everyone that I should know.

In the end, I learned a lot from my mother. One day I'll help them somehow, too. One day.
