《Is this really luck?》Chapter 17 a goddess’s decision

Rachel POV
It’s official Rei has gone mental, well then again a child locked up and has to fight beasts with her life hanging on a thread. Wait don’t answer me on that one. I don’t want to jinx myself and end up with my new best friend as a zombie in seconds. Why do you say Rei gone mental I asked myself this. Because she’s smirking while watching the window. (If those of you don’t get why she’s grinning she’s thinking they deserve it since students are like this wouldn’t that mean she could help spread it to her tribe. She’s not being evil, she thinks they deserve as much for making her suffer all those years ago.)
Ack another incoming zombie....heck did it just regenerate the chest part I crushed my chair into it. Why the hell is this happening? Who in their bloody right mind wants the otome to turn into this. Can I even joke Bloody Mary... okay very bad joke at this time. I mean two more zombie came through the door. I curled my fingers in a palm and used mana. Well good news I learned this from one of the Valkyries. It left a palm print in the hallway blowing a hole into the other side of the hallway into someone else’s room. But not that she’d mind right, it’s that Tina and she’s fighting outside the hallway.
Does anyone but me think it strange that she can turn her body into dragon scales. Rei seems to be giving a weird vibe of don’t touch my savior. If no one knew they thought I was a owner of a vicious wolf. Yea no one mentioned it right. Mental note to self this 13 year old girl looks 17 years old. Right today was her birthday how do I even know. She’s the yuri route that’s opposite of the prince, of course I mean her annoying brother who’s meek. Her story is a freaking sob story. No one taught her how to speak or read. Which annoyed me in the in game route too. So when I saw her in person I couldn’t help it and also might’ve promised her what I could.
Oh right her tribe is the tiger beastmen, yet she ended up as a wolf beastmen. Geez I wonder what that means, not if you played the story you actually found out their father is the king of the beastmen. Whom of which their mother accidentally saved and fell in love with him. Her traits are from him and her brother’s is from the tribe. If you don’t get it long story short she got knocked up by two people, her lover and then the jealous clansman head. It’s also why the twins don’t look anything a like aside from their eyes. It’s not her fault her mother got with the king, he’s actually more decent than their tribe who’s all men is everything and women are lower than beasts found in the wild. Which reminds me I still love the feel of her white soft fluffy ears. Ehem...... no one heard that. I don’t love fluffy things it’s all in your mind.
Why am I even ranting while dodging these crazy zombies. Okay, thoughts of helping her later, I so need to solve this problem of how to get out of the hall way. Because I don’t even want to go into how she and her twins are half blood siblings. This is weird logic of this world, questioning it is utter headaching problems. Don’t make me think about it. It’s like asking a 10 year old to define the works of science and how old do you think this planet is along with its history. Translation is a freaking migraine.

Tina just swept through them with her arm without getting bitten. Which earned my respecting looks, what I maybe a assassin but I don’t have the strength of a full dragon and my divine power is sealed no thanks to a certain someone. But seems like my race won’t change. I kicked another zombie coming at me. Wow Rei, your crazier than I thought. It’s cool how her nails grew into like hand claws. She’s shredding through them like a crazed angered beast. Yet they aren’t regenerating why is that. (Mana doesn’t work only advanced technology but Luna never mentioned about other forms of energies.)
My eyes widen as her hands were dripping of blood as the zombies were now in a complete mess. Who the heck says she was a nice, caring and cool character. They have it wrong seeing her golden glowing eyes, her long white hair and pale skin look makes it seem like we let loose a beast into a zombie apocalypse world. Actually I feel a need to kick the person who made this mess.
Luna felt a sneeze but she didn’t find it strange after all she was sure a lot of people were cursing at the person who let loose such unreasonable zombies.
(Back to Rachel)
Yet why do I get the feeling that me saying that feels like a ant picking a fight with a titan. Oh and I was surprised when Rin appeared out of no where. But he seemed unfazed by all these.
“Being a immortal means I don’t get ill like normal people. Nor can I turn by a virus into a zombie.” (Rin)
I gave him a stare as if to say you cheap bastard have it easy. Like we’re getting crowded by zombies and your relaxingly too calm.
“Did you also forget the basics. Magic for summoning other worldly beings or summoning items from a different world.” (Rin)
“Screw you! How is that supposed to help us.” (Rachel)
“I heard from two people that these zombies came from advanced technology world. A intergalactic world to be correct that too can kill them besides the young girl’s claws.” (Rin)
Hearing him I was trembling, does anyone else feel the need to strangle the idiot for leaving us in suspense. I mean who wouldn’t feel the need to pummel a idiotic person who acts so nonchalant about it. Like heck your the fool not me. This is disaster if you can’t even summon those things plus he doesn’t even know the exact coordinates of the place.
“Practice makes perfect right.” (Rin)
Ah the damn idiot, yes his new name shall be idiot. Why do I say such things summoning circle for both process is the same but the intention is different then it will succeed. It’s like having luck and chance rolled into one.
“Pfft if he can make it happen I’ll call him older brother.” (Tina)
“Mistress I think this fool can’t do so.” (Rei)
Where did I go wrong, she went from savior to boss to mistress. Is it just me or her names are getting more grand by the minute. And Tina please don’t joke your a dragon reincarnated how can you say that. Your damn older than all three of us combined.
3rd person POV
Luna blinked as she stood there watching Sylvia on the cliff of the valley. She was on the cliff above the valley below, which was next to Rachel’s school. This was the goddess of the moon Luna facing the goddess of light Sylvia. Her eyes were a cold glint as if she blamed Luna for the whole mess.

“Your not exactly wrong. But it’s the only way to get her to grow. Either that or when that jerk sends something at her you will be unable to protect her with even your life. She can only learn from this. Rachel needs this chance to hone her abilities and powers. The girl also needs to learn how to hone her instincts and reflexes. To have a sense of danger before it even comes. Cause without it she will just be like everyone else.” (Luna)
“You dare threaten me after you cause my husband’s death indirectly.” (Sylvia)
“Oh so your saying your ok with this timeline being altered too and she gets wiped like the rest of the fools.” (Luna)
“I will not allow you to lay a hand on my child.”
“Sorry wrong person you should be saying that too. I’m from the upper world, though this maybe on death ears by that thing will come to here too. Much like it did to my beloved home.” (Luna)
Rachel POV
I stared at the magic circle at our feet as we are now in the courtyard that students eat out in. Oh did I mention that Rin through up a magic barrier. But the thing that popped out was a small kitten. Which made me laugh. I’m sorry but when we’re so tense and the thing you first call out is a kitten. It doesn’t match our situation.
“Oh are you going to sic’ them with a cute kitten.” (Rachel)
“This will not do.” (Rei)
Your actions are contradicting Rei, stop hugging it to death. Tina your eyes are shinning scarily but seriously aren’t you a dragon too. I never knew dragons love cute things. (Rachel your also a half dragon) Rin just gave me a blank questioning look as if to ask is this supposed to happen.
“I didn’t know the two love cute things.”
“It’s not like I like this thing.” (Tina)
Don’t try to act tough in front of me, even if your a dragon reincarnated none of your people would believe it even if I said so. How did I know that she’s the former dragon queen she has a title on top of her head in white glowing letters. Let’s not ask her about her life. I feel the gap would be too big for me so I stared at Rin’s pale white skin. Actually I nearly forgot he was a devilish beauty in appearance. That clean white skin that doesn’t seem to be tainted by soil even if you tossed it on him. I tried once, it just comes off like a barrier is pealing it off of him.
“I don’t even want to know how your skin works since it’s been like this since forever.” (Rachel)
“Thank you for. The praise Rachel.” (Rin)
Woah, I can hear your sarcasm there Rin. Are you like mad at me. Then again he went back to summoning but I laughed at what I saw next. It’s a small water sprite the size of a apple.
“What are you going to do with that splash our enemies faces.” (Rei)
“That’s pretty much all the little one here can do.” (Tina)
Speaking of the water sprite it hid behind Tina as soon as she was summoned. Though I’m sure Rin took a critical hit there. First the kitten now this, Eh why does it seem like his soul is leaving him. I think we just made him lose a bit of confidence.
3rd person POV
“The highly regarded eccentric information goddess Luna why have you done this.” (Kana)
Sylvia saw the black haired lady wearing a purple kimono with red camellias on it. But her scythe was a dead give away this was the goddess of death before her.
“Lovely to see you too. Are you here to detain me, or is it the fact that you brought Yu Mei here. Then again she’s got a better temper than the old man Zeus. Ah right the old foggy died in your hands.” (Luna)
“Don’t mock me.” (Kana)
Hearing the two have the conversation made Sylvia tremble, how can she not know the gods of the old age that was spoken like myths from the upper worlds. Yet here was two of them from the old age yet they weren’t dead.
“Besides me your now the 2nd eldest Kana. Though I got to say it’s a good thing you don’t have any followers under you. Say if someone tramples the image of your only family who loved and cared for you. Should you not retaliate back, well here’s my answer here. In this small world, this is me unleashing my pain and hell outwards towards those who abuse her dead figure and make others suffer the same way. Say is our home really worth it if 1 life was exchanged for the whole realm. I understand that the realms is millions or more worlds coexisting into one place. But is my sister’s life and will to keep it alive worth it. Yet these in the lower world repeat the damn same mistakes.” (Luna)
“Luna do not be driven by your anger, even you know the consequences. You do not want to turn into a corrupt goddess who runs on a certain emotion of anger only. Even you know that corrupt goddesses run on one emotion only for power do not degrade yourself. It’s not like you.” (Kana)
“Right I don’t really need to go that low. Especially since my race isn’t just a goddess anymore. Chaos fuels life. Without destruction where would we who are alive today exist.” (Luna)
“Luna your not making sense especially with this mess you made.”
“Without wars, conflicts we wouldn’t be who we are today. Say it annoys me about the Bible your sister teaches Sylvia.” (Luna)
“The traitor is not my sister.” (Sylvia)
“It says throw away your earthly desires and believe blindly in your god. Say if this is not a puppet then what else can it be. I mean without desires can you be said to be a human. An angel without desires is nothing more than a empty husk.”
Sylvia glared at Luna’s soft baby face that can drive any men crazy but her eyes were void of any emotions. As if she was hiding her own emotions from her face, only her voice contained anger and disappointment. Even Kana was confused by why her old friend had showed no emotions on her face. This wasn’t like the Luna she knew at all.
“Say Kana how much anger would you have after centuries and centuries of not remembering your only relative to find out that she sacrificed everything for you and left her will to the people in our worlds to protect their life as well as their home. I hate that she too kept her promise but at what cost. Does her life not count among the zillions, trillions or more life among our world. After this you two should thank me for helping the girl have a fighting chance at least against that monster who’s the personification of time.” (Luna)
Luna waved at the two as she started walking as if it wasn’t her concern anymore. But both goddesses were confused at her actions. Kana was surprised when her magic scroll glowed brightly. Magic scroll similar to what we use as phones the only difference is it sends the recipient’s thoughts to the other person. It was the same as a phone where you could reply back, the huge difference being you can never lose a magic scroll. It’d always come back to you.
“If you think she’d last due to training with Valkyries by some goddess from the lower worlds your wrong to think so. She actually needs to hone her instincts into her bones as well as her powers. Oh and do know that I tweaked with the summoning circles in case some idiots wants to use it. There’s no point for her if there’s a easy way out she needs to look for another way besides magic. Also do know that it’s her fault for being so weak that the asshole can send rank S adventurers against her that can kill her. Right this is also to clean up his spies and trash. ~ Luna.” (Kana)
“What the hell does that mean.” (Sylvia)
“It means she put the assassin queen Elena or higher as standard for someone from the lower world here.” (Kana)
Kana felt a headache when she saw the words, it was also a warning to her. When she realized something she felt annoyed, it meant that Rachel was on her own to develop herself. She couldn’t depend on even her guardian. This made Kana groan in annoyance, which idiot pissed off her so much that she let loose some zombies. Yes she knew Luna for so long that she knew the goddess wouldn’t do things without reasoning yet her words today made zero sense.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

Guy dies, transmigrates and then dies some more. Contrary to what you might think, this is actually a story about an OP protagonist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to keep in mind before reading: - I have never written a story before so this will most likely end up being pretty bad. - I have done zero planning for this story. - This is mostly something i wanted to try out in my freetime so updates are going to be sporadic at best. - Chapter length will fluctuate until i figure out this whole writing thing. - I have no idea if there will be romance. Might add it in the future if this story somehow doesn't end up as a failure. - There will be some stuff from the Star Wars Universe but this is NOT a Star Wars fanfiction. - The story will be pretty explicit in the gore department so if your squeamish, beware. - This story will be a slow burn. - If any of the above changes, i'll update the synopsis and i might make a seperate chapter just detailing these points. - Last point, English isn't my native language so have some mercy on my poor soul, ok? If none of the above has scared you away then i invite you to join me on this catastrophic ride. It'll probably be kinda fun.....hopefully... This story is also on Scribblehub and Webnovel.
