《Is this really luck?》Chapter 4 protecting

"She's got to be somewhere close by.... my older sister." (Rin)
(Flashback)
Sei stood at the door with his suit and holding a flower banquet in his hand. His younger half sister was 10 years old. It had been 18 years since his older sister's death. His dad and mom divorced, his father had taken him along separating him and his other sister who was just born not too long after his older sister's death. Sei is now 25 years old. Rin his half younger was born when he was, 15 years old.
"Brother why don't you attend the school today." (Rin)
"I don't need to go to work today. It's her death anniversary. Why the hell cant you be the same as her." (Sei)
Rin clutched her face as she stared at Sei in confusion at his slap. He'd always compare her to his late sister. He also complained about never being able to see his real little sister. She cooked, clean and did the house chores to help ease his problems yet she'd always get compared to her late older sister.
"You were but only 7 when she died." (Rin)
"No matter what you can't replace or nor can you try to take her place." (Sei)
Even now she was stunned he hated her for coming into his life. He lost his sisters at a young age and her half brother wouldn't accept her.
"Fine! I'm not coming home." (Rin)
Ray stretched out his arm trying to stop Rin from leaving but she had ran out of the house into the ran. Her run was very hazy one where she was unaware of her surroundings as she went. Yet she was surprised she stood in front of Ray's grave. There was a flower at the side of her grave.
"He never looks at me. Sei compares me to the kind, responsible sister you were to him. He'd say how you cooked for him when your parents weren't home. How you'd knit for him in the fall to keep him warm. Whenever his shirt or clothes were torn you'd be there to fix it. When he'd have a crush on a girl you'd help him cook chocolate (handmade) for him to give. With you around you'd pick him up daily after school and always protect him from dogs in the neighborhood or other kids." (Rin)
In the rain she cried out her words of wanting Ray to be there instead of her.
"Yet for me, he'd complain because my cooking is barely passable. (Normal) He'd say that his older sister's cooking was better." (Rin)
Yet she felt surprise hit her as her vision blackened. Though she could hear a voice that spoke to her in that darkness.

"Really such a pity for this child to die so young." (God)
"Who are you." (Rin)
"You died of heart attack." (God)
"Eh I died." (Rin)
"Such a sad thing too. You finally got the nerves to tell your heart out at her grave too." (God)
Yet she didn't retort to the voice she heard.
"So I might've made her end up in a impossible situation. You know you're older sister. I put her up as the villainess of a otome game that could end up dead at any dead end with maximum luck." (God)
"Are you crazy." (Rin)
"So I was thinking of how to help her. But I think I'll use one of the girl's ideas. I'll send you in as a male spellcastor. A spellcastor as she explained in her notebook is made of all magical bloodlines, witches, wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, mages, magicians, and royals. And other bloodlines all mixed it. They can bend the law because they have excessive amount of mana that can never run out. Rules can easily be bent by them to just use magic. They don't need a staff as a catalyst, nor do they need to recharge like wizards with a book." (God)
"Wait a moment are you insane." (Rin)
"No I'm sending you as a boy that's immortal spellcastor at the age of 15 years old." (God)
"Not that I'm a 10 year old girl." (Rin)
"I'll also give you a mental image of what Ray currently looks like when she's gonna attend school at age 15 and her name." (God)
"Hey insane voice! Are you freaking listening to me." (Rin)
"No worries I'll send you somewhere close by to protect her." (God)
(I might've raised the hurdle too high for her own survival- God's thoughts)
"I just said I'm a girl to begin with I have no clue how to be a guy." (Rin)
"But don't you suck at cooking. Good at laundry, and cleaning only." (God)
Even those simple things men could do yet to say her cooking was close to a disaster isn't wrong it's barely passable. Rin groaned at the fact that he just said it even she's aware she's not that girly in that front.
(End of flashback)
Rin checked his body just in case. Short light green hair, well toned body and he (former her in crisis over her gender) was wearing a black robe.
"Idiot guy. Yep he's insane sending a girl as a guy. And what does he say protect her. If I see him again I'm gonna beat the crap out of him." (Rin)
A alarm went off in her head making her groan. Something told her that Rachel was still a baby at the moment. (Remember she's a girl in a guy's body so it goes weird for her since she can't completely refer to herself as a boy completely) But she had information sent to her head saying someone's trying to kill the baby.

Rin groaned as he held his head and jumped off the tree he was in as he landed close to the baby's window.
"Petrify my enemies." (Rin)
The snake coiling the baby as the assassin held her was turned to stone. Sighing Rin went through the window and held the small Rachel in her arms.
"Grow up strong and learn how to protect yourself." (Rin)
Instead Rin was stunned by the bright eyes that looked back at her as Rachel laughed and her tiny hands extended out towards Rin's fingers (left hand) as he held her. Sylvia walked in stunned to see the mage playing with her daughter instead of killing her daughter.
'Weren't they supposed to kill my daughter.' (Sylvia)
Rachel tightly gripped Rin's fingers not wanting to let go. This made even Rin panick cause he couldn't make her let go.
"Seriously you use your dragon strength to grip me now! Are you insane." (Rin)
Baby Rachel laughed happily at Rin's struggle to get free.
"How am I supposed to protect you from a far if your like this." (Rin)
Confused Rachel tilted her head. Hearing those words Sylvia understood the situation and came to save the savior of her baby girl.
"Thank you young mage." (Sylvia)
Rin didn't say anything more but just smiled bitterly as Sylvia held the baby Rachel in her arms.
"So what brought a mage like you here." (Sylvia)
After Rin explained her situation and why she was here Sylvia couldn't help but groan. Baby Rachel was sleeping after being breastfeed.
"Ugh so that God sent you here. Father has been very careless indeed after creating us, he even sent two other people here on a whim. Ah sorry the God you so hate is the one who created this planet along with us gods and goddesses." (Sylvia)
"But aren't dragons genderless until they mate then they turn into a complete female. (This is only if they're born female from birth.)" (Rin)
"That is true but I'm a goddess meaning my daughter is also part goddess making her a demigod. But if she inherits her godhood she becomes a complete goddess. Which would mean trials and errors as well a bloody path. There is a prophecy but I don't think she wants to go that far for her godhood either. Rachel probably wants to just live out her life." (Sylvia)
Rin nodded in agreement as he watched the baby sleeping next to his side.
"But you said 'he' made you into a new race based on what my daughter's idea." (Sylvia)
"Ah that..... older sister had tones of notes written down. A race made by human greed to have endless magic and overwrite the laws existing." (Rin)
"Hm, you seem to know much about this topic." (Sylvia)
"Not at all." (Rin)
He took out a old worn out notebook from his item box that the God had stashed inside for him. It was Ray's old notebooks about knowledge she'd get but didn't understand from where. So she'd write them all down in her notes. From mythical beasts to newly created races to those of the olden days that existed in fairytales. There was another book that was written by Ray laying in Rin's item box but it was just a mere copy of its former glory that Ray wrote about in her notes.
Grimoires, spell books that can turn into people but choose their owner. This books are dangerous existences that could topple kingdoms by coming into being, these spell books were once powerful individuals that existed as a hero and later unable to reincarnate became trapped as a existence later known as grimoires.
Sylvia's eyes shined as she turned one page to the next reading about the things written from historical events that were unknown to even her or items not known by them. These things were unheard of on this planet much less these races that Ray's notebook wrote about.
"These theories and this book seems odd. As if the person herself saw these but she doesn't know where. But I can say this these things do exist just not in the scientific world you live in. As for how this girl had contact with these things or was influenced by these I don't know. It goes into such details that it shocks me as a goddess. Because it goes into the origins of how these races also came to being." (Sylvia)
Rin didn't say anything but looked at the goddess before making a decision.
"I'll keep myself at a distance and watch as she grows up. Can you just make the procedures for when I enter the same school as her when she turns 15." (Rin)
Sylvia couldn't help but sigh, this person was but a 10 year old girl in her mind. She handed the notebook back then watched her daughter silently sleeping as the other person disappeared into the night but she could sense that he was nearby watching their mansion.

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!
