《Solitude's Requiem》An Unsettling Duel

Having successfully calmed down Eli, we started watching the duel again. Servants are bringing us all the drinks and snacks we could ask for, so I'm pretty stoked at the moment. The duel between the fallen angel and the old man has been going on for about 5 minutes now, and they seem rather evenly matched. The fallen angel is using his superior mobility to attack the old man and is using his unholy aura to kill all insects that the old man sends his way. The old man hasn't managed to land a hit yet, but he also doesn't seem to have taken a lot of damage. Even though he's been getting repeatedly slashed by the steel arm sword of the fallen angel.
'Is he resistant to slashing attacks?' I wonder still looking intently at the duel.
The old man has a creepy smile on his face compared to the fallen angel who looks rather annoyed and frustrated. Clearly, neither of the fighters has gone all out, they are gauging each other's strength.
“Come on youngling hit me with all your might!” the old voice yells, his breath unstable and heavy as he talks.
The fallen angel does not look impressed by the insistent taunting as he gives his opponent a questioning look.
“Come on, I won't even dodge it or do anything.” The old man announces whilst starting to pant.
The fallen angel looks confused and to be honest I am too. That old creep doesn't seem to be lying, but it's a rather suspicious offer.
“Don't you believe in yourself? That fulfilled potential, that gaze of superiority, those scars of your previous battles, ARE THEY ALL FOR SHOW!!! STRIKE ME WITH ALL YOU GOT!!!” The old man yells clearly getting way too excited. His body is shaking as if he's having a seizure as black blood begins to drool out of his mouth. His breathing is still irregular as he widens his arm, almost looking like he's asking for a hug.

The fallen angel sweeps his long white hair back, clearly thinking about the suggestion of that old weirdo. His body gets engulfed by a light red light, showing the unholy divine power coursing through its veins.
“It seems he's getting serious now.” Idrilth, the experienced headless knight says.
“I wonder what tricks that undead one has.” Ashmodai, the resident expert of underhanded tricks says whilst snickering.
The fallen angel's unholy power emanates from his every move. The unholy divine power is expertly concentrated around his body.
'That fallen angel is clearly quite the experienced duelist, none of his power is being wasted and his strikes and stances have been impeccable. He's clearly far stronger than Argillis, that fallen angel I used to duel with.' I think to myself my full attention on the duel seeing the demonstrated battle prowess.
The fallen angel makes his way slowly toward the old man. Shield raised as he's clearly going for a cautious approach. A sudden flash of red light comes forth blinding all that watch. Only the sound of a loud bang could be heard.
“What happened?” Eli asks confused.
“I don't know.” I answer her honestly, still looking intently at the duel.
The light dissipates as we can finally see the duel once more. The old man is stabbed through the chest by the fallen angel, the smile on his face gone. The fallen angel sees that his attack failed to finish the old man off and quickly pulls back.
“Was that it?” The old man asks in a voice poised with rage and ridicule.
The fallen angel does not respond, he simply resumes his stance.
“No…no….no..... NOOO!!! HOW DARE YOU!!” The old man yells, his breath getting irregular once more.
In his rage, the old man rushes toward the angel, who does not look impressed by the reckless charge. The fallen angel quickly sidesteps him before stabbing the old man through one of his eye sockets. The old man goes limp, the stab has clearly done a lot of damage.

“Is it over?” Eli asks, showing her innocence when it comes to battle. I don't even have to respond as Ashmodai begins to laugh.
The old man who went completely limp suddenly starts to move again. He manages to grab the fallen angel by the throat as he ignores the steel arm sword through his head.
“Yes, that's better. Fight more… Struggle more. SHOW ME YOUR POTENTIAL, SHOW ME YOUR CONFIDENCE!! SHOW ME IT!!!” The old man yells clearly going mad. His breathing becomes even more irregular as the old man begins to pant once more.
“Show me it… So that I can break it.” He says in an unnaturally deep voice, his smile widening to that of one that shouldn't be physically possible. It's honestly disgusting to look at, the unnatural smile combined with the lack of teeth and the insects crawling in it is capable of fueling nightmares.
The fallen angel tries to break free from the grip of the old man but is unable to with just raw strength, quite surprising considering the muscle difference between the 2 individuals. The fallen angel thus decides to use his arm sword to try to cut the arm of the old man. A powerful downward strike combined with unholy power hits the arm of the old man. The arm snaps from the impact as thousands of tiny insects fly towards the fallen angel. They begin biting into his flesh, quickly devouring the skin of the fallen angel.
“It's over.” Idrilth says whilst I cover Eli's eyes.
The sight before us is absolutely brutal, the fallen angel tries to kill as many insects as possible using unholy magic, but alas there are too many. The feasting insects have already made their way past the muscle tissue in the chest whilst even the neck has almost been completely devoured. The Adam's apple of the fallen angel is completely exposed.
The fallen angel is completely terrified as it meets its impending death. His eyes are shaken whilst desperately trying to get rid of the insects, wailing his arms as if it's going to do something.
The old man laughs, amused by the desperate struggle of his opponent.
“Quite good, you have served as a worthy appetizer.” He says his breathing getting regular again and finally calming down from the ecstasy he felt during the fight.
“However, I cannot wait for the main dish.” He says whilst licking his dried rotten lips, looking towards one of the runic eyes.
