The whole world around me changed into a room that had many beds lined up on either side of the room with me sitting on the bed and I was looking towards the hooded figure. “Don’t worry young one, you will be safe in our orphanage.” She told me. “If you’re okay with it, could you tell me where you came from?” She then ask me.

“From the south!” I unwillingly told her, confused why I was talking without me meaning to.

“Oh really? What happened to your parents?”.

I shake my head as tears start forming “I don’t know, I’ve been alone for as long as I know.”.

Before I began crying, the hooded figure hugged me, causing a warm sensation to spread through my body, quelling my tears. “Don’t you worry child, we will make sure you never feel alone here!” She told me, gently reassuring my racing mind. They stay hugging me for several more seconds before breaking away and asking “Do you have a name, little one?”.

“Un,” I nod my head “The only thing I remember from my parents is the name they gave me.” I tell her.

“Oh really? What may that be?” she asked as a gentle smile spread across their face.

“My name is [ ]!” For some reason I couldn’t hear the name I said.

“Oh [ ], what a lovely name you have!” She said in a warm tone.

After hearing them say those words, the whole world began changing around me once more.

I found myself behind the building I was just in, playing around in the field as someone that looked like a guard began approaching me. “Good afternoon [ ]! Are you ready to help me out today?” the man asks me.

I nod to him while having a feeling of warmth from this person. I saw him start smiling towards me while he ushered me to follow him. As I began following him, the whole world started changing around me once more.

We were walking along many different run down looking houses and many different people wearing tattered clothing until we reached a gate. After passing through the gate, the houses were noticeably a lot more presentable while the people walking by us dressed a lot better.

I followed the guard looking person for a while until we started approaching a tall building with glass windows beside the door that showed off different types of books and trinkets. “Umm, where are we going? I thought I was helping you with cleaning the barracks today!” I asked him, confused where we were.

He then turned around to me with a smile on his face “I actually have a surprise for you! It’s been one year since you arrived at the orphanage, think of it as your birthday present.”. I tilt my head to his words, shortly after the whole world started shifting again.

When the whole world settled down, I found myself in a room, standing in front of a crystal ball, sitting upon a podium. “You see [ ], when a child turns six, it’s then when they have a chance to awaken their magic powers.” The man beside me tells me while I stare at the crystal ball.

“Your caretaker at the orphanage and I decided since you have been such a good boy during the year you’ve been around, we will give you a chance to see if you can use magic.” He says in a gentle tone.

When I heard that, I started to feel anxious about seeing if I can use magic. “Don’t you worry, [ ]. If you can’t use any magic, I’ll personally train you with the sword if you want!” The man tells me, as if he knew I was anxious.

The old man across from me, behind the crystal ball then begins talking “We will now conduct the ceremony! If you could little one, place your hand on the crystal ball and focus all your energy on it.”.

Listening to what I’m being told, I place my hand upon the crystal ball and close my eyes. “Don’t worry [ ]. I believe in you.” I heard from my side, reassuring me.

Several moments passed of complete silence so I worriedly opened my eyes. I see the old man in front of me with wide eyes staring at my hand “This can’t be real!”.

Confused on what's happening, all of a sudden the man beside me asks “What's wrong? Can he use magic?”. It felt like he knew what I was thinking and voiced it out.

“Can he use magic, you ask?” The old man starts laughing like a maniac. “HAHAHA! All my years of being alive I never thought I’d meet a dual wielder, let alone be the one to discover it!” He says while staring at me with a huge grin on his face.

Both the man beside me and I were confused. When the old man saw our expression, he then told me to take my hand off. Following his order, when I took my hand off I saw the crystal sphere being a mix of grey and yellow color strains scattering about inside of it.

Not understanding what it ment, I found myself looking towards the man beside me. He didn’t really understan what it meant either so he asked the old man “What do these colors mean, professor? He can use magic, yeah?”.

The old man places his forehead in his hand while laughing again “Not only can he use magic, he can use two attributes perfectly.”. “Normally if a person has their magic powers awakened, they can use all magic but not nearly as well as the one they are attuned to.”. He then looks up to me from his hands “You, child. You are not only blessed with two attributes but the combination couldn’t have been any more perfect.”.

The man beside me started becoming impatient “Professor, out with it. What magic is he attuned to.”.

The old man starts laughing again before speaking “You better train him well, he can become your star pupil.”.

“What do you mean? I can’t use magic, I can only use the sword.” He says, uncertain on what he's being told.

“The magic he can use may be the most basic ones but together, this child will become feared by monsters!” The old man keeps beating around the bush, building suspense. “He can use both body enhancement types of magic, reinforcement and speed!" He said, finally letting the cat out of the bag.

After finally hearing the answer, I looked towards the man beside me to see his face full of astonishment “If what you say is true, [ ] can become the world's best swordsman.”. The man's face was full of joy as he turned to me “[ ], I’ll be training you the way of the sword right away! I’ll even teach you my family’s renown style!”. “If the professor trains you in your magic while I train your swordsmanship, it won’t be long before you are a force to be recon with!”.

“Wait, what do you mean? I’m too busy to train a child!” The old man cries out.

“What do you mean? If you are someone that studies magic, how can you not pass up the opportunity to train a dual user.” He then rebuttals with.

The old man lets out a sigh “That may be true but I’m just too busy having to deal with the school as well.”.

“Please, professor. [ ] just might be the savior to our world if we properly train him.” The man told him, not backing down on letting him weasel out of it.

“Ughh, fine. My only free time I have is every second night. I’ll free up some time during those nights so I can train him for an hour.” He said, finally agreeing with the man beside me.

After a short moment, the whole world started shifting around me once again. I then find myself holding a wooden sword, facing the man from earlier. I charged towards him, raising my sword. Right before I swung down at him, the whole world shifted again.

When things settled down, I found myself in a room filled with books everywhere. I looked down at the table I was sitting at to see the words in a book “The first step to accessing your magic is to first learn how to control the flow of mana through your body. Once one learns to control their mana, they then learn to control their magic.”. Afterwards, I looked up from the book. I saw the old man from earlier in front of me speaking words I couldn’t hear.

The world started shifting around me once again and I found myself in the room with beds spread across either wall. I was standing in front of the hooded figure that I originally met, they looked like they were getting shorter as I was now half way up their arm. “You’ve made us all so proud, [ ]. I hope that you find purpose in your life, now unfortunately I know I told you that you will always be safe here but you need to go with ( ), he will take you somewhere that will be easier for you to practice at.” she tells me in a shaky voice.

Not understanding what was happening, she suddenly embraced me, crying softly into my shoulder. “Goodbye, [ ].” When I heard those words I felt my chest tighten as the whole world started shifting around me once again.

When things settled down, I was following behind the guard man. While we walked through the dirty streets, behind me I heard flames crackling about. I had an urge to look behind me but then the man in front of me spoke out “Don’t look behind you, [ ]. Keep looking forward, they are just having a campfire.” his voice was audibly shaking.

The world began changing again and once more after settling down, I found myself in a different area. This time I was sitting at a table, looking at a book while I heard two men behind me audibly talking out behind a wall.

“Why did you come here! If they find out that I helped out, my whole life is over!” The old man voiced out.

“What do you mean? He's just a child! None of this is his fault anyways! Those guys are the evil ones here. They didn’t even care that they attacked and destroyed the orphanage run by her of all people! Please, I just need you to keep him here until night so I can secure a way out for him!” the man told him, sounding frantic and on the verge of tears.

The old man lets out a sigh “Okay, you’re right. I’d be worse than them if I abandon him.”.

“Thank you. I’ll be back for [ ] tonight.”.

Once again, the world started shifting around me. This time I found myself still in the room I was in before but I was standing up, looking at the different spines of books along the shelf. One caught my eye and I began reaching for it. Right before my hand touched it, I heard a voice behind me as a hand reached out for it as well “The Dark Mysteries of Marawa, you just might be right [ ]. Just maybe this places dark mysteries are real.” He says while pulling the book out from the shelf.

After the book left the shelf, the whole world shifted around me once again, finding myself being carried over the guard man's shoulder who was running. “Don’t worry [ ]! I’ll bring you to a safe place, you will be able to live a normal life there and go to school.” the man says.

The whole world starts changing again and I find myself sitting in a carriage with the guard man beside me, sleeping. A voice from the front of the carriage, behind some cloth was heard “Are you awake back there? It’s almost time for you to get off.”.

The man beside me woke up to the words and looks to me “[ ], I know there's a lot going on right now that you don’t understand but I want you to know that your caretaker loved you very much and she wants you to live your life to the fullest, can you do that for her?”. I didn’t really understand why he was telling me this but I nodded my head to him. Once he saw me nod, he gave me a gentle smile “Now [ ], after you get in town, go straight to the school and tell them that old man referred you. You remember his name, right?”.

When I nodded to him, the whole world changed again. Just as things stabilized, I found myself standing in front of a gate that led into a large building before the world around me started to disintegrate and darken around me, sinking me into a black abyss.

I jolt out of a bed frantically panting for air. It took me a little bit to calm down my breathing before I looked around me. The room I was in felt familiar but I couldn’t tell where I was right now, if I was still in the weird world or if I was back to normal. What confirmed that things were back to normal was when the door opened and entered in a familiar face holding a bowl filled with something.

“Oh my god, Crim! You’re awake!” Chelsey suddenly blurts out while running towards me and hugged me while she tried not spilling the bowl in her hand. She held on for a few moments before letting go, giving me space.

“What happened?” I asked her, confused on what was happening.

“You’ve been passed out for a whole week!” She tells me. She then places the bowl on the nightstand that was supporting my sword. “The guild wouldn’t tell me what happened in the castle and just gave you to Vaero and I to look after.” she says while placing a finger upon her lower lip.
