When we got back to the inn we found that Vaero had already started getting the carriage ready. As he noticed us he turned to Chelsey asking her “Where were you? You didn’t mention where you were going.”.

She brings a finger to her lip while saying “Well I would have told you but how could I if you stomped off like that?”.

“Ah- I just went to check our supplies before we left, you still should have let me know where you were heading. How can I protect you if I don’t know where you are?” Vaero claims in a worrisome tone.

Chelsey then pats my shoulder and I start to glare at her but she wasn’t fazed and mentions “I had Crim with me, I was safe with him!”.

He shoots a glare my way while saying “Chelsey! You can’t easily trust him like that!”.

“Vaero please! You are going to be with him for a while, it will take a few weeks at most to get to Trennent Village.” She says while wearing a worrisome expression and pauses for a moment before continuing “And I know he doesn’t have his memories right now but I just know that he's a good person!”.

He sighs before announcing “Fine I’ll put up with him.”. He then turns to me and says in a rude tone “But that doesn’t mean I trust you.”. After he turns around and continues to get the carriage ready.

I think to myself the faster we get to Trennent Village, the faster I can leave these two and so I turn to Chelsey and ask her “Is there anything I can help with before we leave?”.

She places a finger to her lip while thinking before answering “No, I don’t think so. All there should be to do is get the necessary supplies for the trip and pick up the monster essence from the shop.”. She pauses for a moment before continuing “Yeah, there isn’t anything, if you want you can just relax for now.”.

Not upset by the answer she gave I accepted her suggestion and headed into the inn. As I got to my room I took out my sword and laid it against the nightstand and intently looked at it. I don’t feel like I owned this sword but why does it give such a familiar feeling. I also didn’t expect the blade to be so red, was it dyed with the blood from the countless monsters I killed with it? And why did the cloth disintegrate when I fought with that wolf, I tried countless times to take it off but never could. The more I thought about the sword, the more questions I had.

I didn’t sit for long before getting restless and picking up my sword heading out to do the one thing I know; to swing a sword. I told Chelsey to find me after they’re ready before I made my way to a secluded area near the inn where no one would bother me and started swinging.

As I swing my blade down it gives me a warm familiar feeling but doesn’t stir up any memories, even though I don’t have memories of it, I felt like this is something I used to do for hours on end. With every swing the more it emptied my mind and before you know it I lost track.

While I was swinging I thought I heard something but brushed it off and kept my mind clear, continuing on for another one hundred swings. After the last swing, I catch my breath for a moment before turning around and heading back. As I turned around I saw Chelsey standing there watching me.

“You know, I really thought you were so focused that you wouldn’t stop till night.” she says with a slight smile.

“You should have called out to me or tapped my shoulder.” I mention while wiping the sweat off my forehead.

She raises a finger to her lip while claiming “I did call out to you but you didn’t stop.” she pauses before continuing “And I don’t think tapping your shoulder would be a good idea.”. I did hear something while I was swinging so that would explain that. While I was thinking about it Chelsey asks “Are you ready to go? We’re all ready on our side.”.

I nodded to her and then I started to wonder how long I’ve been out here and ask “Wait, how long has it been and how long have you been waiting?”.

She lets out a light giggle before answering “I’ve been here for a little while now, I really thought you would be out here until dark!”. “It’s a little bit past noon so we will still have a good amount of daylight if we leave right away.” she says while turning around and walking away and I follow shortly behind.

After we get back to the inn, the carriage is upfront ready to leave and Chelsey asks both Vaero and I if we are ready to go and with both of us saying yes we start boarding the carriage with Vaero in the coach seat and both Chelsey and I in the back.

I stare out the back of the carriage between the crack of the cloth door as we make our way out of the village. While gazing out back as the village entrance grew farther away Chelsey interrupted it “Already grew attached to that place?” she says teasingly.

My gaze fixes to her while answering “No, not at all.”.

She smiles while saying “I wouldn’t be surprised if you did, it was the first village after losing your memories.”.

I don’t say anymore but just turn to look back while thinking “It feels like I just started a long journey.”. By the time I thought that, Last Haven was far out of sight now.
