《The fight for freedom》Epilogue - Where everything starts

There is a minor edit on the first part, as I made an epic fail. Sorry for the people that had been confused.
“Were they safe?”
The boy juggled a few knives and nodded, “The nobles are furious. They lost most of their best assassins and they couldn’t kill a single target. They targeted the wrong person with the wrong people though. A few anti-time mages would have screwed him up so badly.”
“Well, most of them are stupid as hell anyways. The only one dangerous is the mastermind.”
“The mastermind, a person who gives suggestions to nobles making their plans insanely effective. He even gave them 50 assassins, but even I have only 6 assassins stronger than them individually.” The boy frowned. "Well, Dusk ended up murdering most of them anyways."
“A scary man indeed. He basically has enough favors that he might as well be the one controlling the nobles. Doesn’t help that our king is a kid.”
“I’m a kid. Well, he’s still far younger than me. He has good ideals, but he has no force. Everything is under the duke and the general, but they’re already busy as hell.”
“And with those screwed nobles just below them, you might as well say that they have direct control over the city. Well, except for your part.”
The boy groaned, before speaking, “It took me 3 years of planning and so many murders and my father’s life to even get this spot. Well, he was never reported dead though, so thank god one of his shadows is taking his form to deal with the noble crap. And guess what? He had been assassinated at least 19 times in the last year!”
“That’s harsh. Speaking of shadows, how are the three that Dusk entrusted with you?”

“Two of them are okay, the pyromanic is hard to deal with. She changes when she’s on the staff, so it’s hard to train both personalities. I’m thinking of training her as a solo strike force. She has potential.”
“Well their choice is good. So, now that we cleared this step, what’s next?”
He smiled, “It’ll be a long fight. That’s next.”
The devil nodded, and left the room.
But then the boy turned towards me.
And the last thing I saw was a knife flying towards me at an impossible speed.

“We’re here.”
“Wow. I’m surprised that it’s so clean after so long.”
“Well, Elanor knows how to stop unwanted stuff from settling. Just take one of the rooms.”
“Well, I’ll be taking this room.”
“I’ll take this room then.”
“Could I set up the teleportation pads now?”
“Settle down first. I need to make you a new arm. Not to mention, we’re wanted in the whole world. You can’t even go anywhere until I complete my illusion device.”
“Dang it.”
“Well, there is a bunker here. And I’m sure Elanor would be able to send in some cards for you to blow yourself up. Also, I need you to train Alferdo to fight.”
“He’s already quite good.”
“You’re still better.”
“True.”
“In return I could teach you, maybe some engineering, and stuff. Even if you use mainly swords and cards, having a pistol on hand would save your life.”
“And being able to use that mega weapon would be useful at times.”
“It’s a sniper rifle.”
“Insignificant info.”
“Hmph.”
“…”
“…”
“It seems that we’ll be together alone for quite some time.”

“Yeah… regarding that... you know what.”
“?”
“I found a large bed.”
“Yes? Wait, what are you doing to Alferdo?”
“Hm… Ah. Turned off. Now we ARE truly alone.”
“Wait. What are you doing! It isn’t night yet! At least wait till then! I still have things to do!”
“Come on...let's not waste this perfect chance~”
Dusk muttered and started stripping Shiina as he pushed her onto the bed.

Author notes
And this is the end of the first part! The dark side has not been dealt with. The monsters are still going strong.
The next story arc would be a few years later in the storyline. Featuring new, and old, characters!
Truthfully I hadn’t thought of an actual map. While I AM using Dragon Nest as a base, there is no full map of the game, hence the initial village was left unnamed.
I’m sure that there are waves of complaints coming in, so throw it all out! Feed me!
Thanks to my girlfriend, who had gone by the name Shiina when I first met her in DN, this story is for you!
Thanks to a person named JoyJoy415 from CherryCredits forum, and all of his (or her) friends that made a fun, although short, event. This person unknowingly opened my passion for writing!
Thanks to this community (RoyalRoadL) for flooding me with wonderful stories, a new chapter for a story I’m following every few hours means much to me!
And thanks to all of you who are about to throw me quite a lot of crap, and maybe stuff that doesn’t include crap, or maybe flowers. All gifts are appreciated!
I feel like starting the new story already.
But I’ll have a short break before that.

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.

Again
Most villains, no matter how terrifying, are defeated by a hero on the first try. The hero may be forced to flee or otherwise delay the real confrontation, but it’s still certain that he will win when it occurs. But some villains simply defeat all comers. Against an opponent like that, the only options are to give up or to try again. --- This story is a participant of the WriTEr's pledge. In short, I promise to finish it, and may I be Hall of Shamed if I don't.
