《One can only laugh in the face of destiny》10 - Sound Isolation Spells Suck Sometimes

“Dalnur do you think the summoning is actually going to work?” Asked Finn.
“ I mean they literally just pulled that scroll from an old castle. It might just be some crazy person's scribbles or mage's recipe for bread for all we know.”
“There were only 5 people that knew of the scroll's existence when Dave the Priest came to the king with knowledge of it. 2 of those people never left the North and the other 3 were the messenger Gordon the Arch Mage, the King's personal guard Sam, and The King. Dave the Priest is cunning but not that cunning. I am not sure if it will work but there must be something to it for a God to deliver a message” Replied Dalnur “You should remember the story of Edgar the Brave and his Hammer that was given by the Lugh God of Smithing, the Gods do not reach out on a whim but always with purpose.”
“I agree with Dalnur, there must be something to this ritual business otherwise the King would not have called for Frank to be present. We did not speak of this before as we were not sure and I am sorry to have kept this from you all” Spoke Lily apologetic, “but… we have passed down an ancient tale of a summoned one. We all thought it was just a child's story we were all told but when we saw the scroll I had Faye look into the story's origin. What we found was unexpected. The story was actually written into the walls of the world tree close to our home land in the Andal Forest to the West. Any story worthy of being written into a World Tree is without a doubt the truth. The elves may be gone but they would never desecrate that which they loved with falsehood.”

Alvin, Dalnur, Eiki, and Finn all looked at each other each having their own thoughts but all were certain that there must be more to this ritual business than they initially thought.
Right then they heard something from the large entry hall
~Clop Clop Clop Clop Clop Clop~
A Donkey had just ran in and no one saw it when it first entered but they all saw it arrive at the table. No one in the Feast hall knew what was going on but right after the Donkey got to the Table they saw The King enter with Frank behind him.
Everyone made a bow towards the king who gestured to them to relax. As Clive was eyeing the food Fred noticed what was going on and was about to run up and chase the donkey away but when he saw Frank by the Donkey wasn’t stopping it from ruining the feast then something was going on.
A guard started towards Clive ready to run him out. Frank spotted the guard and approached him to let him know it was okay and that none of the guards were to make a move against Clive.
King Anthor made a B line straight to Dalnur and Lily’s Group. Hoping to fill them in as quickly as possible and announce to the others that Clive was their Hero.
The reason Dalnur and Lily’s groups were first is they were heads of the city in almost equal standing to the king, they needed to be filled in immediately.. The King in reality had more power but as Vera welcomed the two races in with open arms the leaders of the races became like prime ministers. They had equal say in what went on in the kingdom. The other nobles, artists, and invited guests were of little consequence as they could be excused or they would just have to listen to the king. Dalnur and Lily’s group needed to be filled in on the exact situation or things could get really messy really quickly, I mean really who would readily accept that a donkey was the world's Hero?

King Anthor reached the Group whispering,
“Faye cast a sound isolation spell quickly.”
Faye quickly casted the spell as discretely as she could. The group stepped closer to the King to hear what he was going to say as everyone else in the room were discussing the arrival of a Donkey at the table.
“Did it work? Where’s the summoned Hero?” Asked Dalnur
“The ritual worked but we rain into uh some complications but everything is fine for the moment.” Replied the king ..... How the hell do I say this he thought.
“I am sure you guys noticed the donkey that ran in before I got here he is over there by Frank”
Said the King looked towards Clive.
“Yeah we were wondering what that was about. Looks like Frank is talking to the guard to get it to lead it out so the feast will be fine. Now where is the hero? What happened and what do you mean by complications exactly?” Asked Finn
“You guys trust me right?” Asked the King
“Of course we trust you Anthon you welcomed us with open arms and gave us positions almost the same as your own we trust you with our lives.” Everyone nodded their heads in agreement
“I need you to believe me when I say this then……”
The group listened intently ready for the worst.
“That Donkey.. It’s name is Clive.”
“AHAHAHA What kind of name is Clive? AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA Clive the Donkey HAHAHAHA.” Laughed Dalnur the rest of the group doubled over with laughter.
King Anthor was really glad he had Faye put that Sound Isolation spell right now. Who knows how the hero Clive would have reacted to them laughing at his name. Remembering what happened to Quin King Anthor shivered at the thought of what kind of damage Clive could do if he was angry.
“Please stop laughing and listen” Anthon spoke Hurridly , “Clive is not just any donkey… he.. Well he is the summoned hero…..” Anthon said it with the most serious face he could muster.
“AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH good one King, now come on don’t joke with us King Anthon” Alvin said, “Where are you hiding the hero?”
“I am being serious”, replied the King , “Various things happened after the summoning but both Dave the Priest Frank spoke to the God of Destiny after the summoning. THE God of Destiny confirmed Clive is our Summoned Hero, he is the Savior of our world.”
“Wait you can't be serious” Eiki said, “After everything we have to rely on a donkey to save us? We have a donkey hero named Clive?”
“That's what I am trying to tell you Clive is our Hero Donkey and we need to treat him with respect.” Replied King Anthon
“So your saying, the Hero, the one meant to save us from the Demons and bring peace to our land is that Donkey? The one that twerp David is walking towards and his name is Clive?”
“Yes thats our Hero… wait David?!” King Anthor quickly turned around and saw David Approaching Clive. David was pulling out his sword. “David Noo!” Yelled the King but Faye's sound isolation spell was still active so no one but the Group in the spell heard him.
