《So I guess this is a Video Game World.》Chapter 22: The Battlefield

I was riding a dragon! Woo! That seems so unreal even compared to all the things I have done and seen so far in this world but that is so cool! Who wouldn't want to ride a dragon? Not you? You're lying! I know it!
Well, even if riding a dragon was awesome, it wasn't comfortable at all. Between the scales and the fact that we are flying at a really high speed, and it hurt my ears. Both because of the sound and of the speed.
After some times, we could see the battleground. It was devastated, thousands of human bodies and also lots of monsters bodies scattered everywhere... Only corpses and pool of blood recovering the snow. That was war. And I can do nothing but support this for everyone to have a peaceful life... Well, if we don't count non-sentient monsters. But that's a problem that probably doesn't have a solution...
Dramence deposited me, and now, we were two more troops in this bloody battle. I ready my fists and my spells. I will use my sword only if necessary. My fists are already deadly weapons on their own in this world.
The blue dragon stepped back and concentrated his mana in his mouth. The famous dragon's breath. The breath was of a white, slightly blue in appearance and was covering an enormous portion of the battlefield, hitting both enemies and allies. I then screamed
- You stupid winged lizard! There were also our soldiers in it!
-No need to insult me. Now, look.
Enemies were completely frozen but allies were fine... How is this possible?! It touched them! It... It... That's cheating! The friendly fire is off?!
-How did you do that!
-Ohohoh. Pure mana control my friend. I spent years practicing it before it attained this stage were none of our brave soldiers will even sense any damage.
-That's... Completely unfair.
-But isn't war unfair in is own way?
The dragon got a good point right there. War is unfair. And if we can abuse something, everyone who can will abuse it to the maximum. I'm more of a fair fight guy myself, but, if there is one things game learn to me. If there is a way to break the game to your advantage, then do it. I am the Game Breaker, that what my friends call me. And if I can abuse the system, I will do it!

I charged towards the enemy, filled with good memories and nostalgy, even if it was really not the moment to remember those... Now, this is my badass moment, no way I must miss this instant to call it!
-I am the Breaker of my Game.
I did an uppercut to a soldier, concentrating mana in my hands.
-Nolife is my body and games are my blood.
I killed everyone who was an enemy in my path. I was sorry for them.
-I have Breaked over a thousand Games
I attacked them, killed them. But never it was without regret.
-Unknown to Death, Nor Known to Life.
I was beginning to be surrounded, but they were all below the level 25, so I could do it.
-Have withstood Grinding to break many Games.
-The fuck is he saying? Is that an incantation?
A soldier didn't understand, it was logic, but... Reference is Unbreakable.
-Yet those hands will never complete any games. So, as I Play...
-Unlimited Games Works.
I finally deployed a powerful shockwave, killing every enemies who surrounded me. My badass moment was here. At the prices of many lives... Was it worth it? I Wonder... Not. It was totally worth it! Hell yeah!
Back to the normal character. The battle was harsh and difficult for both sides. We had the advantages in technology but not in numbers or raw power except a few really strong soldiers like me or Dramence, but this dragon was of an another level, he could almost do this battle alone but the sheer number of soldiers was probably too much, even for him.
Enemies were shooted down, friends were sliced to nothing. We could see an immense mana ball forming above mages, they were all concentrating mana and seemed to aim for Dramence. That was bad! I sprinted towards the mages, punching everyone trying to stop me and then thrown a beam with the remaining mana that I have to the mages. It wasn't really big. But at least not small enough to only hit one wizard. When they saw the beam who was approaching them at a super fast speed, they quickly decided to throw the mana ball before it was completely done against Dramence. Only fatal flaw in their plan. He was fast. Like, lighting fast. And the mana ball due to his massive size was really slow. But... Why don't he moves out of the way? He really is gonna take it! He used is ice breath to try to destroy the enormous mana ball. But there was too much mana in it to completely destroy it. So he took the albeit weakened still powerful mana ball in his face, this provoked a devastating explosion, even though I was far away, I could feel the rudeness of the shock from here. But why didn't he dodged this?

Then I realized. There were soldiers behind him. Soldiers who were fighting. So this is why he decided to tank it.
Stupid. That what I told to myself. I told it to myself for being stupid enough to not understand sooner that he was protecting the people of Angeluna. I who sought peace for them... That was stupid of me to think that he would dodge. He preferred to make himself in danger to protect great numbers of lives... I don't seek to be the protector of the world, nor I would be selfless enough to do what he just did. But he still did it. The protagonist of this battle, it was him. So, if he is the protagonist, then I will support him like I can. And the only way I can do it, is to win this battle with everyone else. Healing? I unfortunately can't. Potions you say? I know it is selfish, but I need them too. And i don't know if they would do anything useful to him with his probably monstrous HP. And there is already people healing him. I certainly aim to be a jack of all trades, but for now, I cannot heal injuries. And I should better do what I do the best. Fighting.
The war continues, and the victims on both sides only keep getting worse. I'm getting really tired of battling without getting one second of rest. And I'm out of potions... Gah! This is bad! Suddenly, I could sense someone's magic... It was not from the direction of Dramence, who was almost completely healed due to the constant healing he received of mages dressed in white. The term "White Mage" was a bit literal here...
Back at the magic. It was frightening. I could see someone far away in the opponent sides... It seems the magic was coming from it... I widen my eyes to see better from that far. It was somebody in a full blue armor, the magic who was coming from this person seemed to melt all the snow in a ten meters radius. Even vaporizing the water just after that. Impossible to see it's face, the armor covered every part of its body, like Wrath. The enemies who were beside it seemed to bow. So it must be a pretty important person.
[Anteros, Lvl:475]
...We need to retreat, now. This... thing, will kill us all! Even Dramence! It is even stronger than Nell somehow!
Dramence did see the figure and cringed when he did see it approaching. He then roared in with a lot of urge.
-EVERYONE! RETREAT NOW! IT IS ANTEROS! I WILL HOLD HER BACK!
Everyone then started to run like their life depended on it, which was probably true.
And then, a little blue screen popped up.
New quest received!
Survive against Anteros. Help Dramence or Flee.
⚠ Warning! Your level is too low for this quest! You will probably die if you try it!
Reward: Besides being alive. Helping Dramence will reward you of the "Map" menu.
Dude. This is suicide. I will absolutely die against her. Even with Dramence helping. No way I shall do it. The reward isn't even worth it. Why even bothering to give me this quest.
Spoilers: If you don't help him. He will die. And probably lots of people too. But if you help him, then, you maybe have a chance to at least repel her. You're level 99. That's not given to everyone. Even though you completely cheated your way through it... I'll leave you with this ethical dilemma : P
Are you serious?! This is not the time for jokes now!
...At least answer me... What should I do? I will probably die if I fight against her but... I also don't want to act like a selfish bastard, knowing what would happen. But... I... I don't want to die!
I was almost in tears. This choice was horrible. There were no good answers. I... I don't know anymore...

8 199The Magitons
Book 3 of the Universe Series This novel continues the adventure from the previous novel, Ocean of Dreams. Each novel is meant to stand alone. Widhbo ( pronounced "wee bow") is a MC who will be in each of the six novels in the main series. The starship Sora had been hurtling through space using its FTL propulsion system toward the Dezba star system for over a decade since leaving the planet Beldora of the Hellsaxe system. The Sora had crash landed on Beldora over a century earlier carrying a couple of aliens from another dimension. The ship came from the Borrugal Realm, a band world associated with what was known as the Tor Galaxy, what we call the Milky Way. Human life on Beldora was never the same. Under the influence of the alien known as Widhbo, Beldora was catapulted from the steam age to the space age. The majority of the scientific advances on Beldora were attributed to the leadership of a brilliant man, Jejliard Castonea, who was secretly manipulated by the alien, Widhbo. When rapid advances in technology inadvertently led to a nuclear war, Jejliard decided to evacuate his family, friends and co-workers on the Sora. The plan was to find a new habitable planet and rebuild civilization until they could safely return home. Much to his despair, Jejliard’s family and friends opted to stay on Beldora to ride out the war underground. Even the other alien, Gengor, stayed behind. Borrowing technology stored in the archives of the Sora, Widhbo managed to transfer the personalities of those staying on the planet into digital storage units known as magitons which could survive indefinitely in cold, sterile space. Living crew members who elected to stay on board the Sora were also uploaded to ensure immortality for everyone in case their life support systems failed en route. Widhbo sought to design a cyber paradise for everyone inside their virtual worlds, but things never go as planned where Widhbo is concerned.
