Chapter 15: It's a scam.

Walking out of the alleyway unto the market, Ben view of vision expanded because of the increase of light, showing the brilliant of the sand market. Most of the store in the market has a straw for the roof but other than that, they used some type of harden sand to make their counter and plate.

Walking through the large expanse of the market, Ben enjoy some of the food here and there, picking up a chicken and a sticky rice on the way. Eating and walking, Ben came to found an empty spot where there is a potential to set up his very own store.

Walking around the market, Ben understood some of the mechanics of how to make the shop popular. He saw that the more the customer there are, the more elegance or more expensive looking the store is. So with that in mind, he understood that the crowd here is attracted to shiny stuff, just like a thieving cat. Talking about a thieving cat, Ben notice that he got pickpocket a lot when he went through the crowded market, not that he has any valuable possession in his body. But is irritating nonetheless.

Coming to this perfect place and an empty area to set up a store, Ben used the skill [ CREATE ]. Making his very own diamond store, a store made of the hardest substance on earth. Siting back and relax, on his self-create golden chair, Ben noticed that many people are attracted to his store and is coming his way.

’ Time for some scamming, ” We have a discount for an amazing coal pot! The pot made of pure coal and is more valuable than gold itself! Right now, we are just selling it for two copper a piece! If you miss out then you miss out your lifetime of riches! ”’ said Ben, finding it incredibly stupid and not confident if people will even fall for it. But of course there are many type of people in the world, and luckily people didn’t have internet, leaving them venerable to this type of scam. There in the crowd once Ben shouted out came a surge of people, vying for the ten vase that was just made of ordinary coal really.

However, the crowd not realizing this flock onto Ben, trying to buy a pot of cheap quality and because they don’t want to miss the opportunity of becoming rich or gaining some silver. Now people will say that was because the pot of coal was too cheap, even if it was made of coal it would be even more expensive than two copper, but worry not. This is exactly what Ben wanted the crowd to think, actually the price of the pot is just a pothole for the next sale method.

” Don’t rush don’t rush. I am a fair sales person so don’t worry since everyone will have the opportunity to vie for the riches. Now I don’t want to say this before someone buys it because supposedly it is the secret origin of the pot, but now with this many competition, I will just tell you that the pot background is extraordinary! It was said that the previous owner of the pot has found many treasures during his 100 years of lifetime, and successfully amass a mountain of fortune to upgrade his status as a peasant into a nobility! It also was said that the pot was made by a very popular blacksmith, Dwarfed lord. Who in his 1000 year reign create the pot in his very last breath before passing it down to his family to keep them safe from harm, then finally the pot was passed down again until it comes into my hand, who with this pot alone amass a lot of gold and diamond as you can see here and being a selfless person. I feel that a lot of people in this world deserve an opportunity such as this more than I do, and decided to sell it. ” Ben said, acting like the man who saw a lot in life.

Hearing this, the crowd was riled up even more, even going to the extent of knocking people out of the way with brute force and started a brawl. ” Now now, calm down. Like I said, everyone will have an equal opportunity. There is exactly ten pot here for ten lucky people. So with that said I am auctioning one of each pot to the highest bidder, so be ready. ” Ben said finally revealing his scheme. Some in the crowded even rush to their home to bring all their fortune to bid in the fake coal pot.

’ Amaze me how greedy these people are, feel kinda bad for doing this and I don’t really need the money anyway so maybe I could return the money to the highest bidder and give them the coal pot for free. ’ thought Ben, but thinking back to his pickpocketing experience he decided against it.

Anyway, the auction in the middle of the street start!

Time skip.. 2 hours later.

” So we come to our last pot, our previous pot sales price being ten gold! Who can beat this? With no further ado, we start the bidding NOW! ” announced Ben. Instantly everyone in the crowd raises their voice to the highest, making a cacophony of sound. ” I bet for one platinum. ” However not even a second after the start of the auction, a ridiculous price was put on the table, making the crowd silence up. ” I bet for ten platinum. ” however when the crowd thought that the gentleman who said ten platinum is going to win, they were prove wrong by an even more ridiculous price.

” I bet for hundreds platinum ”

” I bet for two hundred ”

”I bet for.. ”

Not having the time to break from the constant surprised, the crowd almost fall over to their bottom. One of the people in the crowd even manages to shout, albeit shakily, ” Ther… There will always be someo.. Someone… ” not even getting to finish his sentence, the man falls unconscious from the shock he felt.

Ben watching all of this couldn’t help but muttered, ” I swear, something is wrong with this world. I even felt affected by it, by being more emotional than usual. Maybe there is some type of law in this world that directly intensifies people emotion?”

Coming back to the scene of the auction, someone finally wins with the high price of 10 Magi crystal. Bringing the hammer down to conclude the winner, Ben gave the rich person his pot, getting 10 Magi crystal in return. The Magi crystal sport the size of 7 inches long and 4 inches wide and emit some type of energy that Ben conclude as magielectroc nucleic energy or (MNG) for short.

With the mysterious crystal on his hand and in his pocket, Ben abolish the store with a flick of his fingered, and in turn, shocking everyone present. Before teleporting away, Ben made a final announcement to the dumfound crowd, ” the auction for ordinary coal pot is now concluded, enjoy your patronage. Don’t forget to regret and learn! Thank you. ”

With that, Ben teleport away, feeling proud that he fixes the greed issue of the people in this city and effectively help the city for the better.
