《Reincarnator’s Road to World Domination》Breakfast and Tea

The smell of morning dew, and the feeling of a summer breeze, the delightful rays of sunshine, is the perfect recipe for an ideal morning. If only....explosions weren't reverberating through the mansion.
I rub my forehead to at least alleviate a bit of the headache as another explosion reverberates through the mansion.
I think to myself, how did this happen? And is reminded of Timothy's arrival, a blush goes through my face and is removed as quickly as it appeared. I shake my head. Such thoughts are detrimental to my duty.
I can rest once their security is ensured. I continue my walk, pushing the tray containing milady's breakfast. Ann's work is now intensifying due to the recent events around the city. I shake my head in sadness. Enemies are moving already, and when House Caedebrad is at its weakest.
Another explosion reverberates, this time with a peal of laughter, and I smile. Perhaps the explosions are bearable. Charles would undoubtedly need every bit of happiness for what's to come.
The various gadgets Timothy brought with him instantly captured the master's imagination. Though I do worry for his safety, I believe Tim will be attentive enough to ensure it.
I stop in front of a door and knock. "Come in, Faye." a reply comes. And as the door opens, I notice milady, watching from the window, with a dopey smile. I palm my face, and I cough, "Milady, your work has been piling. It would be best to start now so that you may have some time with Prince Charles."
She looks at me, shocked, and returns to her work with vigor. I smile in success as I push the cart next to her desk.
"Milady, I have brought you your breakfast." She immediately gorges herself on breakfast, reminding me of similarities with Prince Charles, chuckling at the thought.

Milady looks at me. "What's so funny?" I reply, "The way you eat, MIlady. It reminded me of Prince Charles." Her face brightens as she starts speaking.
"Of course, My baby is so cute he obviously got everything from me." She proudly looks out. And I scold myself for my mistake in changing the topic.
I try to move her attention back to her work and ask, "What happened during the raid? Milady" She looks back at me, annoyed. "Ugh, those little pests were being supported."
She opens the drawer and takes out Caellum bracelets. "I took these from them, Caellum this size could cost a small fortune."
I look and inspect the bracelets and nod. "I see. I don't think they could, even a rich merchant would be hard-pressed to afford a bracelet of this size, and they brought how many?"
She grimly replies, "11, Only one of the four families could afford to waste money like this." I grimly nod. "That, or a foreign power." Milady stops as she reaches for her tea, "A foreign power? What could they possibly gain from that?"
"Access to Caellum? Access to His Highness? They might think that enough ruckus could make you desperate enough to sell your stock of Caellum." I analyzed the hypothetical situation, trying to help this way at least.
She nods back at me and replies, "I see. Thanks, Faye, I'll consider it." She proceeded to continue sipping her tea, and a thought runs through me, and I ask "How did you win against them anyways."
She laughs. "Hahaha, they give these powerful weapons to men that didn't even know how to use them. Easy picking, I say."
An explosion reverberates through the mansion again, and she worriedly looks at the window. Trying to grab her attention, I ask her, "So you captured one then?"

She continued to look at the window, worried, "I did, but like the last one, he had no direct contact." She looked seemingly reminded, "Uh, can you also put him in the cell with people he fucked over?"
I nod. "I see, then what are your plans? For the last one as well," She looked at me and continued with the tea, "I'll be ambushing both their contacts, though let's hope it would be of any use."
She pushed her teacup towards me, asking for more. I ask, worried, "Is it essential for you to participate?"
She looks at my worried face and smiles, "I'll be fine. I need to make sure no mishap occurs, A spy might appear and destroy my plans, and besides, I'm so bored."
I palm my face and ask her, "I understand, Milady, then shall I accompany you for this?", She waves her hands dismissively, "I need you here Faye, you're the next best mage after me, so I'll feel safe knowing Charles is by your side." She proceeded to eat again and drink her tea.
"Then I shall take my leave. I'll return for your plates and cup." As I tried to leave the room. A hand shoots out, "Well, since you're already here, how about we talk some more?" She grins, and a feeling of anxiety washes over. I know that face. I try to make an excuse to leave.
"I have something to do, milady. I'll have to get those done first." She grips me harder, "Nonsense, I'm your boss, so I'll be ordering you to stay here. We haven't gossiped for so long. I'll need something to get me through this." She gestured at the paperwork at the side table.
I drily gulp, "Then what it is you wish to hear." I smile stiffly. She grins evilly and spoke, "Well, have you talked to Timothy yet? I mean, it's been a few years since you last talked" I freeze and blush, "Milady, that is not your concern" I try to reason with her.
But my reaction gave way for a wider grin. "OOOOh, it seems you haven't forgotten then. Did you know he excitedly accepted when he found out you were here?" I blush deeper as I bow my head hoping to hide my embarrassment.
Ann cackles, "C'mon Faye, It's been years. This is a good opportunity." Ann stands up with her grip on my arm as she brings me to a hug. And I am reminded of the times we had as children when everything was simple. And just like before, she tries to get out of work which makes me chuckle. I guess some things never change.

Is Lucas Destined to Die in the New World?
Lucas imagined himself doing grander things in life; after all, he put in his own blood, sweat, and tears, and got himself a master's degree in English. Maybe he'd be the next best-selling author, or maybe the most popular late night TV show host. However, life didn't give him anything more than a management position at the local burger joint. Day in and day out, he flipped burgers, swept floors, and made weekly schedules that his employees ignored. All he had known for the past five years of his life was pure misery. Then after one night of drunken revelry, he found himself in an unfamiliar world, but he knew all the gimmicks. He knew these stories had quirks he could manipulate- he could put all his stats into magic and become the best wizard in the world, or he could dump all his stats into strength and become a veritable warrior. But once again, just like Earth, this new world seemed to have different plans for him. Instead, he was given a luck stat of 0 and a skill that forced him into danger where there should have been none. Why is this nerdy, magical paradise trying to kill him? Content warnings are there to give me some creative legroom later. There's not an excess of any gruesome content in the story, and what is there is tastefully sprinkled in. This is a LitRPG. Updates are twice a week on Mon/Fri plus some extras here and there.
