《The Intelligent Ogre (Dropped for remake)》Chapter 12 - 'Demonic Creatures', 'Elder Spike', Return, and Muddy the Teacher?

While Jake was walking with the ‘plant’, he saw some interesting things in the ‘village’. One of which was they were selling some butchered creatures, most likely monster meat.
Jake was somewhat confused weren’t the monsters united why are they selling their meat?
Seeing Jake confused, the ‘plant’ ‘saw’ where he was looking and showed and understanding look. The ‘plant’ started to explain, “Those are ‘demonic’ creatures, they are born from the ‘chaotic energy’ of the world.
Since you most likely do not know, ‘chaotic energy’ is released when the planet is absorbing the chaotic energy from the void to convert into world energy to strengthen itself. Therefore, a lot of demonic creatures are born each year.
This process is always happening and the world needs ‘us’ creatures, to get rid of the demonic creatures because the demonic creatures are very destructive and can even absorb world energy from the planet, causing the planet harm if they get strong enough.
The world rewards ‘us’ all for killing demonic creatures by giving us ‘energy’ of our type and helping us ‘evolve’ to higher ranks. Also, demonic meat is very helpful for ‘us’, it will strengthen ‘our’ bodies and give us stronger vitality.
Though there are rare cases of demonic creatures gaining intelligence, in which the world can make a deal with it, like making it a creature of this world and help it in killing other demonic creatures until it ascends or dies in battle.”
Jake when he heard that was enlightened. It seemed that this is the way that the creatures of this world can ‘level’ faster.
When Jake asked the system how the creatures of this world ‘level’ a while back, it told him that getting enough energy will allow them to increase their level. But most creatures cannot ‘feel’ or ‘control energy’ so how would they ‘gain’ energy? Well now Jake knew, they just killed ‘demonic’ creatures and the world helped them ‘gain’ energy.
Jake remembered the mother tiger that he always drank milk from, it seemed that was a demonic creature without intelligence.
While Jake was thinking he heard a familiar voice, “Think Stick!”
Jake looked over and saw Muddy rushing over. She looked at him for a moment before saying, “You can walk?” She then turned to look at the ‘plant’ and said, “Elder Spike, why is he walking?”
Though it seemed the ‘Elder Spike’ didn’t understand, so Jake the vital energy that connected him to ‘Elder Spike’ disappeared. Jake knew he was going to talk to his mother with the vitality trick.

After a while, Muddy turned to Jake and said, “Thin Stick very smart! Come follow to home.” Though before Muddy left, she gave Elder Spike the plant, a jug of ‘something’. Jake then saw Elder Spike ‘waving goodbye’ or something.
A while latter, Jake saw a ‘cave’ which Muddy was walking towards to. Jake knew that this was the cave he was living in.
Jake was still confused why were they living in a cave? There were nicer ‘houses’ near the ‘trade center’, which was confusing.
When Jake was walking with Elder Spike, he was checking some of the levels of some creatures he saw. By the way Elder Spike was level 400, and always reached ‘world boss’ before upgrading.
Though the other creatures were around level 250, which meant that ‘his family’ was in the ‘elite’ ranks, so why were they living a cave?
While Jake was thinking, he walked into the cave and felt something around him. Jake focused harder and then realized what he was feeling, it was some type of energy.
While Jake was living in this cave, he couldn’t feel this extra energy because it was always with him. It was just like a smell, if you smell something all day you wouldn’t keep thinking about it until you remove it then return it.
This cave seems to be ‘energy rich’ no wonder they wouldn’t live in those ‘nice’ houses and rather live in a cave.
Though a moment later, Jake felt his stomach rumble louder than ever before. Muddy heard it and quickly grabbed him then took him near the tiger again.
It seemed that she still didn’t trust him ‘feeding’ himself, which makes sense, even if a baby can walk, don’t they still eat random objects sometimes? Jake remembered asking some of the dumb things’ ogres do one of which was eating rocks and choking to death…
While Jake thought that everything would return to a normal day after the feeding, he was proved wrong.
Muddy started trying to teach him how to speak! Finally, he might be able to talk about what he wants after ‘learning how to speak’.
After just an hour Jake ‘learned’ to speak basic words, which surprised Muddy so much that she started laughing. That scared Jake somewhat since he had never heard ‘his mother’ ever laugh. It felt like a quiet person start suddenly cursing, it was scary.
Thankfully, Muddy went back to ‘normal’ but had a still ‘smile’ while ‘teaching’ Jake how to speak.

Jake spent the whole day ‘learning’ before he slept, he decided not to enter the HCTS tonight, and will wait until just before the next HCTS starts because he is somewhat still scared of what happened with the motivation medicine.
The way Muddy taught was weird, it required Jake to already know other words before learning the words she was teaching. If Jake didn’t already know how to speak, he would have been somewhat confused.
Another interesting thing Jake found out was Muddy was smart, like really smart. Jake always thought ‘his family’ was dumb because of the broken words they spoke, but he was wrong. It seemed the problem was the ogre language they used was incomplete, and they never tried fixing it because it was a waste of time it seemed (they would rather learn magic rather than fixing language problems).
The Great Shaman spoke better ogre language than Jake, which was weird, why didn’t the Great Shaman teach the rest of ogres the universal ogre language? Jake asked Muddy when he ‘learned’ enough.
It seemed that every ogre was taught by their parents and only ‘masters’ would teach their secrets. Though Jake doubted that the universal ogre language was a ‘secret’, and the ‘Great Shaman’ was just lazy and didn’t want to teach the rest of the ogres, or maybe he just wanted to show that he was smarter by speaking better…
So, while Muddy was ‘teaching’ Jake, she learned faster than he had during the HCTS. Every time Jake asked a question, (he could finally ask questions) she explained the reasoning behind it and added actually fixed her language and started to ‘speak’ better and more efficiently. By the end of the day, Muddy spoke almost as well as he had.
Jake was astounded an ogre was actually smarter than he was, even with a 10 times buff of comprehension and focus because of the grey space.
When night came Muddy told Jake, “Thin Stick it is becoming nighttime, it’s time to sleep.”
Jake decided to finally address a problem he had; it was his name…
Jake asked, “Mother, can you change my name already? I want a better name than just Thin Stick.”
Muddy responded, “When you get bigger, I will speak with your father, but for now try gaining some weight or you will be bullied by other ogres when you are outside.”
Jake grimaced and remembered his time outside with Elder Spike, in which he was ‘attacked’ by another ‘small’ ogre.
Then Jake went to his bed he was thinking if he should enter the HCTS. Remembering all the bad things that happened so far Jake didn’t want to enter but he would eventually have to return.
While Jake was wondering Jake heard ‘his mother’ say, “Son sleep tight, tomorrow I’ll teach you more, and hopefully I’ll also learn from you again.”
When Jake heard that he nearly froze and quickly replied, ‘alright’. The reason was because he made himself look like a genius and had a lot of questions that helped her improve her ogre language.
Jake decided to enter the HCTS because of this reason.
Jake suddenly realized why had he always chosen to be so aggressive with training. Why can’t he just take it on his own pace and grow up ‘normally’.
After Jake entered the HCTS, he saw the motivation medicine already appear near him, which Jake decisively ignored. Jake didn’t want to be reliant on it.
Though in the next second Jake felt ‘something’ compelling him to take it. Jake freaked out, what was happening!
Asking the system, Jake got a response he didn’t expect, he was addicted to the motivation medicine.
It seemed this was a highly addictive medicine in which if you take it once, you might never be able to quit again.
Jake quickly decided to leave the white room by thinking of learning the universal ogre language (2) and was quickly went to the grey space. Hopefully, when he return to the white space he wouldn’t be so compelled to take the medicine.
