《The Intelligent Ogre (Dropped for remake)》Chapter 2 - The System, Hardcore Training Space, and Primordial Perfect Ogre

Jake Flash slowly felt his conscious return though, he still could not see anything. In fact, his mind felt heavy making his thinking slow, very slow. While he was thinking of why this was, another thing that was bugging him was that he wasn’t breathing correctly. It was as if he was being given air by something.
Jake tried moving his body, but that did not work well, it was as if he was stuck deep in mud, though he could feel his fingers moving a little he could at least do that much.
While he was trying to move his body, he slowly very slowly started to remember bits and pieces of his memories.
Jake remembered his past life slowly as if it was being returned to him, then after a while, when it got to the part where he was in the ‘after life.’
He suddenly remembered; didn’t he have a system? Then started thinking of how he could call for it. Remembering past games and novels he read, which took a while, the first thing Jake said (or at least tried to say since he could not move his mouth very well) was “Status” though nothing happened, so he tried again differently “System.”
----------------------------------------------------System-------------------------------------------------------

//Author’s note if you guys don't understand the attributes do not worry, I'll post it below on the spoiler. //
Attributes Average - The average attributes overall for physical, mind, and soul.
Physical Physique - The overall attributes of the physical body average.
Strength - The amount of explosive power and is for both upper-body and lower-body. Running fast (sprinting), lifting weights, etc.
Agility - The amount of control over the physical body and reaction speed is also somewhat connected to it, most people just connect it to gymnastics and similar sports.
Constitution - The physical resilience, stamina, hardiness, and good health.
Mind - The overall mental and physical mind attributes.
Intelligence - The ability to understand, memorize, problem solve, etc.
Wisdom - The measuring self-awareness, common sense, restraint, perception, and insight.
Soul - This one is a tricky one, but think about this, computers can have a 'mind,' but they might not have emotions, creativity, etc. The missing emotions, creativity, and other things that made a human a human is what a soul has that a mind does not. The soul also contains the mind. Usually has attributes that can’t be measured physically.
Capacity - The amount of knowledge they can be contained without having the soul and mind overload (this is very important in this novel, keep this in mind).
Willpower - A strange attribute that usually cannot be measured and is usually the ability is control exerted to do something or restrain impulses. But in this novel, it has a huge effect with magic
Other attributes will be introduced later but they will be explained.
While Jake looked at his status (which took a long time) he kept forgetting what he just read and could not make any connections. He also felt very tried and the darkness made him uncomfortable, so he decided to sleep until his mind and soul status grew enough to make sense of his status.

Break scene
-
When Jake woke up again and saw the darkness, he slowly recalled where he was, he then called the system and saw that all his attributes went to 0.01 while it was not as bad as before it was still hard to think. He saw he was now unborn 10 weeks old. Jake then saw his race as Primordial Perfect Ogre and was at a loss?
//Authors note (some info about primordial beings and lore below in spoiler. No need to read if you don’t want to.)//
Primordial means from the earliest times, usually when the universe, and in this case from the creation of the minor omniverse. Creatures born during that time had nearly infinite energy from the ‘semi-primordial chaos’, which gave them better chance to build a stronger body. Later the energy was stabilized by the minor omniverse, and planets and other things were created. During which the nearly infinite energy slowly started to disappear. Slowly but surely, primordial being’s offspring became weaker and weaker due to lacking energy.
Was it his wish to become an ogre? What, no way right. I mean I would understand if I was a dragon or something, but an ogre? As Jake was thinking about this, knowledge about what a Primordial Perfect Ogre was appeared in his mind as though he knew what it was from the start. He realized that this was one of the extra perk that was added in the end the ‘semi-guide’ with the remaining 13 major good deeds.
//Author’s note – (bolded important parts)//
A Primordial Perfect Ogre is an intelligent monster at the same power ranking as a Primordial Dragon. This type of ogre is ranked as such because every attribute that it has will increase at the same rate and time, including the soul. Similar to most other primordial beings, it can contain up to three cores. One each for the body, mind, and soul. Though it sounds nice it obviously comes with a catch, It is harder for primordial beings to level and evolve. It requires them to reach universe boss evolution rank every 5 levels (which is called differently for different worlds usually), or they will be unable to level. You might be wondering universe boss?
The evolution ranks go from regular (starting rank) - iron – bronze – sliver – gold – boss – world boss – universe boss starting from level 0 and every 5 levels, but when you reach the next multiple, they reset (example level 4 universe boss becomes level 5 regular). Yes, they reset back to iron! If a regular creature reaches level 1 without evolving, the creature would be stuck unable to evolve until it de-evolves and it reach the next 5 multiple, but primordial beings must reach universe boss each time or they would not be able to level. Though the good thing about evolutions is that there is no need for resources, and they give permanent attributes increase. Evolutions only require the creature to reach the required attributes, knowledge, and skills to evolve.
Jake opened the evolve option for iron rank, and the required attributes, knowledge, and skills were shown.
Iron rank – level 0, all attributes 1.0, knowledge - universal ogre language (Level 1), skill – body control, passive (Level 1)
Well Jake saw the requirements and felt like laughing, how was he going to learn the universal ogre language? Though right when Jake thought of that, knowledge was transmitted into his mind.
Though it was not the universal ogre language, no it reminded Jake of the other ‘cheat’ he had with him. The hardcore training space (HCTS)!
//Author here I will be calling the hardcore training space HCTS most of the time.
He learned that the hardcore training space, was a place that put his soul, body, and mind in a space that helped him train and learn his attributes, knowledge, skills, and core (core is unlocked later). In the training space Jake would be given a concentration buff that allowed him to completely focus on learning his objective, and another buff that increased his ‘comprehension’ and ‘talent’ by 10 times in the training space. Anything learned in the HCTS will never be forgotten, which felt nice.
The best part about the space after he heard the system explain was, training in the space was that all was that if he enters the HCTS all time outside the space would be frozen for 7 days, and that he will not age during that timeframe! That meant that he would have 7 times more lifespan if he entered every day (Jake can enter the space as much times as he wants every day, but the limit is 7 days, each day doesn’t stack if he doesn’t enter for a day).
Also, any injuries received in the space would be healed, even if Jake died, he would be revived (brought back to life). Though if he entered while injured those injuries would remain.
Jake tried entering the space by calling the hardcore training room in his mind, and felt that he entered, since the warmth around him disappeared, but since he still couldn’t open his eyes, Jake couldn’t see anything. Jake also felt that he was losing his breath and feeling weak but also healing at the same time, so he decided to return (by thinking about leaving the space), which he felt his condition return to normal.
Jake started to feel mentally exhausted and began to question his life would he really spend his life as an ogre. Then Jake started thinking back to his family, before deciding to call it a ‘day’ after feeling tired mentally, and sleep.

Break scene
-
Jake slowly woke up because he started feel something happening to his surroundings and couldn’t help fear something happening. Then he calmed down quickly (the mental stability, passive skill at work) and opened his status which he saw he was 20 weeks ‘unborn’ which quickly changed to ‘being born’.
Jake quickly asked the system how long a primordial perfect ogre usually takes to be born, and was told around 20 weeks, so he can cross out being prematurely born from his mind.
Jake felt his mind working fast and saw his attributes all reached 0.1, he decided to quickly enter the hardcore training space, and think what to do when he is ‘born’. He also decided to learn the universal ogre language, since it could tell him what is happening in his surroundings when he comes out.
Jake felt himself being ‘free’ again, but this time he tried to open his eyes. While it took some time, he succeeded and looked around him. All Jake saw was white, even the top and floor were white.
Jake looked at his hands and feet they were somewhat wrinkly and tan in color. He was somewhat fat for an infant, but even his belly had some amounts of wrinkles on them which felt weird. Jake slowly started to stand; he was surprised it felt like his body had the strength of his previous young (human) body, though his control was terrible he almost fell when he stood. Was this the perks of this space or the perks of being an ogre being naturally strong from the start?
Jake decided he would ask the system and knowledge started pouring into his mind. It seems that ogres are born as strong as an average human which is about 0.1 of an ogres’ physical physique though their mind and soul are much worse taking as much as a decade to speak their first understandable words. Though there are exceptions to that they are known as knowledge type ogres such as sorcerer/shaman/mage/etc. Knowledge type ogres gain growth with the mind and soul power equal or higher than humans.
Though he asked the system another question. Was his mind and soul being compared with a regular ogre soul and mind? Thankfully, the system told him he was being compared with a different way as a primordial perfect ogre his mind and soul are 10 times more powerful than regular humans, which made him feel way better. It was no wonder his thinking and processing of information is somewhat ‘normal’ at 0.1 status for the mind and soul, and this also made him feel how powerful the primordial perfect ogre is.
Jake decided to go back to what he was doing and started to look around, hoping to find how to work this space. While he was thinking how he was supposed to learn anything here, a white screen appeared before his eyes and saw three bolded words in English.
Skills, attributes, and knowledge
So, it seemed as long as he thought about learning and most likely also training, the screen would pop up. Jake also remembered that the core is locked for now maybe it would show up later when he could build one. (Cores would be explained later when he needs to build one.)
He clicked on the knowledge and saw a huge list of items that could be learned that felt like it could go on forever. Thankfully when he thought about the universal ogre language everything except disappeared except for a line that read in bold letters universal ogre language (1).
Jake clicked on it and felt his soul, mind, and body feel ‘open’. He felt like he could learn anything, and he remembered that the HCTS had the perk of increasing his ‘comprehension’ and ‘talent’ by ten times during training.
Before he could think of anything else he was teleported to a gray room, and he felt his mind focus on some weird characters and symbols while having some translation on what they mean by the side in English. After a long time, the strange characters disappeared it was exactly when Jake learned everything written on it.
Just when Jake thought he would be brought back to the ‘white space’ he started to hear some growls, grunts, and some other weird sounds. At first Jake was weirded out but soon another emotionless voice in English started to translate what the words meant and once again, his focus was completely on understanding the weird sounds. After a while the voice started to talk to him, and he had to talk back to it. After a while Jake woke up and felt that he understood an entirely different language. It seems having perfect concentration and having a comprehension and buff of 10 times is very helpful in learning things quickly.
Jake then was sent out of the training room, and he called out the status and saw that he gained the universal ogre language (1) on the knowledge tab.
Jake asked the system how long he had been learned and the system said it had been 5 days! Jake learned an entirely different language and even non-human language in a mere 5 days. Even though it was only level 1 it felt as it was on ‘high school level’.
Jake then decided to take a small break, even though training in the space didn’t make him fatigued, for some reason, it did not feel right to just keep going without one.
After all, Jake began to question the goal in this life? Was he really going to live as an ogre this entire lifetime? Was he going to fight all day long without a purpose like all ogres he read about?
Then Jake thought about magic that he might be able to wield and felt better.
Jake also started to think back to his family and how his family was doing. Then after a while he realized he couldn’t do anything else for them, and he then took a look at his status one last time before he took a nap.
