《The Novel's Unifier》Chapter 21 - Keyboard Warrior (1)

Danny stayed in that room, unsure of what to do. Should he have left?
Thankfully, Hector showed up again, carrying a bright smile.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," he stated, before relaxing into his chair. He seemed to be turning into a liquid, as he slipped down his chair. He opened his eyes.
He seemed to only just remember Danny was there, as he froze.
"You may leave," he said, awkwardly waving his hand.
"Thank you, sir," Danny answered, bowing on his way out.
Danny went straight for the dorms, basically diving headfirst onto his pillow. However, he couldn't fall asleep.
He turned over, watching the source of his annoyance: Arthur yelling at the screen, tapping on his keyboard.
"Could you quiet down?" he groggily asked, lifting his head.
"Not if this piece of shit doesn't stop lagging," Arthur responded.
Danny got to his feet and started hovering over his shoulder, watching his play. Eventually, Danny couldn't help it.
"Alright, let me try." He cracked his knuckles, as Arthur begrudgingly gave him the seat.
It took Danny about three games before he started understanding the controls. Coincidentally, it also took Danny about three games to start winning.
It was a 1v1 game, named Keyboard Warrior. You controlled the character with the keyboard. It had custom characters for every player, which changed based on who you were. It seemed to remember who you were based on your irises, but Danny wasn't sure about that yet. You fought against an opponent who randomly matched with you, trying to see who wins.
But, it didn't seem to be so random. He had fought against the same person for all of the games he played.
Danny took a break, taking the food Arthur had just made. "Thank you," he said, putting it on the desk.
