《The Novel's Unifier》Chapter 10 - First Lecture (1)

Danny stood in front of a door that lead to a room full of dangerous people. He nervously shifted his tie. He didn't tie it himself, but Arthur did it. He was quite skillful, which shocked Danny.
He lightly hit himself, to regain his composure. Surely, even they wouldn't touch the son of the Emperor.
Thinking such useless thoughts, he walked in. All the chattering he could hear from outside was instantly extinguished. Danny scanned the room, looking for an empty seat. He could see everyone's eyes on him, as they watched him move. He hoped he seemed graceful, though he probably wasn't.
He tried to focus on the strands of hair that he could see, rather than the whispering that resounded through the room. They were definitely blond, barely visible from the way they curved to the left.
He found a seat. While he was walking to an empty seat, surrounded by no one, in the back of the class, he was stopped.. It was by a girl, much taller than him, who seemed to have sparkles in her eyes. "Please, have my seat," she said, as she got up and bowed.
"Thank you," Danny replied. He took the seat.
Danny looked around the room, mainly at the main characters. Pia Johann, a girl with dark blue hair, sat crowded by other girls who seemed to be chattering to her. She seemed unperturbed by the mass, as she coolly stared at the front of the room. Then, she glanced at him.
Did she? It was so fast that he wasn't sure if he saw correctly, but he could have sworn he eyes flickered over him.
Danny moved onto the next person, throwing those thoughts aside. The Rival's of the story, a Demon and a Human, sat next to each other, speaking about something. The Demon was Perry Winter, blue-skinned with sharp teeth, but otherwise Human-looking. The Human, on the other hand, was Harry Posa, a Human that almost rivalled Danny's own looks, but with the personality of the worst Demons.

Then, the main character, the one to save the world from an imposing doom, Arogel Morn, was surrounded by a few people who would have minor roles. Danny knew Morn wasn't his full surname, but he didn't bring it up. Most other people in this room didn't matter. Except for the tall girl who moved seats.
He had been ignoring her, hoping for her to stop staring at him, but it didn't seem possible.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Danny asked. He couldn't ignore the the pain on his face any longer.
"Thought you'd never ask," she said, gripping his hands before she even finished speaking. "Pleased to meet you, August. I am an Extra in this story. And you should be dead." She said it with such a calm face that Danny felt himself go cold.
Of course, Danny already knew that he should be dead. But no one else should have known about that fact. Unless she was a Prophet, which was unlikely. Still, that wouldn't explain why she called herself an 'Extra'.
There was a notification that Danny ignored.
"A phone?" she said, excitedly. "You know those went out of style nearly a hundred years ago, right? It's all about these watches. They're pretty fascinating, you know. Just do this, and a little bit of this, and... That's weird." She frowned. "Hang on. It's pretty cool when it works. Ah, why won't you work?" She kept tapping the watch.
But Danny didn't want to be involved with her, whoever she was. Danny was about to stand up and move, when an imposing man walked into the room.
He had wide shoulders, a strong jawline, and bulging muscles. "Sit down," he said. Everyone sat down, almost as if entranced. He must've used Mana in his voice, but that was almost impossible. Besides for a few examples, of course. It was a technique known as Spirit Speech, though it was nearly extinct.

"To remind you all of who I am, I am Instructor Ok Hwang. As some of you may have noticed during these weeks, I am of Asian descent, hence my name. Remember that where you are descended from matters. Because, sometimes, who your ancestors were grants you special privileges and abilities. For example, let's speak about a Korean person. And, let's say, that their ancestors could be traced back to the Murim. We all know what that is, correct?"
"Yes, Instructor," Pia Johann answered, sitting upright. "It was the world of Ancient Martial Arts, long before the First Cataclysm."
"Good answer, Pia. Now, the chances of that Korean person having Ki, an energy source just like Mana, are very high."
Danny remembered this scene. It was where a lot of the world building was dumped, in order to better envision the past. But to Danny, who already read the novel, it was like being told something that you already knew. He felt himself shake holding back a yawn. It didn't go unnoticed.
"Student August," Ok Hwang said. Danny jumped, as all eyes went to him. "Maybe you can tell us which cultures made the most significant impacts in the First Cataclysm."
Danny felt nervous, as he began to recite an answer, "Calling them cultures would be a bit wrong, since areas were known as Countries back then."
"Sir," Pia spoke up. She must've been angry that she wasn't asked, as she even stood up. "What he's saying has no importance on the current topic."
"Thank you, Pia, but I shall decide that. Continue," Ok Hwang ordered, keeping his hands held behind his back.
Danny cleared his throat. "Anyway, the major countries were the United States of America, who provided weapons to combat the Monsters. Most East Asian countries, who gained, at the time, unimaginable power." 'Well,' he reflected,'Unimaginable isn't the right word.' "Most African countries, who were used to hard conditions. And the Australians, who were part of the Vanguard, as they had already been fighting horrible wildlife."

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?
