《Dual Rebirth (BL)》Chapter 17

Due to Kence's insistence, the two decided to just eat on the first floor. Although Calter wants to treat Kence on the second floor but the latter wouldn't just agree to him. This made Calter to sigh helplessly
Soon, the cafeteria was filled with many students. Fortunately, when they got their food there was still one available table for them. The two settled down their tray of food on the table and began eating while chatting with each other
"Are you excited for the first day tomorrow?" Kence asked while Calter laugh at the rice that was stuck on the side of Kence's mouth
"Not really, I already learned most of the things a cultivator need to know at our level" coming from a Noble Clan, Calter naturally has access to the information that he needed to know
It's just that Nobles would gain more cultivation resources when entering the academy. While the competition among the students will drive them to become stronger. Also, there were some teachers that are better at teaching than the tutors the Noble kid has
"Lucky bastard!" Kence felt that the world was really unfair and stuffed another meat on his mouth. The academy was really generous, you can eat as many meat as you can. Well, those are just normal meat that doesn't benefit Cultivators
Caltee shook his head at Kence's remarks. "Oh, by the way how's your roommate? Is he good at you?" Calter worried that Kence's roommate will bully him
Hearing this, Kence's mood immediately turned sour. How can he be so unlucky to be roommates with someone who might actually kill him in the future?
He was sure that he won't be able to sleep peacefully at night with the constant fear of his roommate killing him. "I am so unlucky! Sven is my roommate!" Kence sulked and cursed whoever decided the room assingments, for him that person doesn't want him to have a peaceful life
"Just what did you do to make him angry?" If it was other Nobles from a Baron Clan, Calter might be able to talk to him to be nice to Kence. However, here only one's own talent matters. This was also the reason why the Mighty Blood Academy was still one of the best among the various academies in other dukedoms
Here, a kid from a Baron Clan will have the same status as a kid from higher rank nobility if he has enough talent. The academy won't let the students use their clan status to suppress someone who has the same or higher talent than them. In return many of the students become more powerful than a graduate from other academies
Kence took one of his hand under the table and crossed it, he can't possibly tell the reason why Sven hated him. "I don't know, I didn't do anything to him!" Kence said defensively while using his other hand to play with his food using a fork
Calter looked at Kence weirdly thinking that how can someone be this terrible at lying. Nonetheless, if Kence doesn't want to say it he won't push him

"Speaking of him" Calter saw Sven holding a tray of food while looking around for some available seats
Sven decided to eat at the first floor of the canteen. Even though he was a Noble but it was only a Baron Clan. Sure, he can pay for the foods on the second floor but it will took a huge burden on his pocket money
Any thing that can benefit a cultivator was bound to be expensive. However, the others also has the same situation as him making the first floor to be so crowded. There wasn't any table available for him to eat. Maybe, if he came from a high rank noble clan the other students will try to curry favor to him and offer him their seats. Too bad, he was just from a Baron Clan
Calter thought of an idea and waved his hand towards Sven. "Here!" He can only try to make Kence be friends with Sven if he don't want his friend to be bullied. Seeing Calter's actions, Kence turned his back to see who was the one that Calter was waving at
Seeing that it was his beloved enemy, he turned back to Calter "what are you doing?" How can he let his enemy eat in the same table as them?
"I don't want you to be bullied, try to be friends with him okay?" Calter answered and continued waving
Sven was not someone who cares who he dine with as long as it was not his hated enemy. Kence was not actually his enemy, he just want the kid to give him the Heavenly Wishing Bell. Too bad, Kence played dumbed and won't admit that he has it. Still, Kence was too weak for him to consider as an enemy
Sven walked towards them and silently put his food on the table. He ignored the two who showed him their 'kindness' and started eating his food. All he wants to do now was to finish eating and continue his cultivation. Sven hated his mortal body and wished to be strong enough to the point where he doesn't need to eat. For him, eating was just a waste of time if it will not aid him on his cultivation
An awkward silence pervated in their table. Sven's aura was as if saying 'don't talk to me' and both Calter and Kence doesn't know how to start a conversation with him
Wanting to end the awkwardness, Kence cleared his throat and tried talking to Sven. "Ehem...you sure eat a lot. Do you love eating?"
"....."
The awkward silence become even more awkward with Kence's words and the three of them stopped eating. Kence had the urge to let the ground swallow him whole. How can he say things without even thinking? What a nice words to start a conversation with someone who already hate you!
Calter's mouth slightly parted at how stupid Kence's words are. He face palmed himself which earned a glare from Kence. Whilen Sven looked at Kence as if he was an idiot which made the latter to blush in shame

Sven can't even bother to answer a question as stupid as that and just continued eating. This time, Calter decided to try to reconcile the two
"Umm, Sven what did Kence do for you to hate him? Can we fix things between the two of you?" Calter asked hopefully, he wants to make the two to be friends and he was also curious to what Kence possibly did. He don't believe it wasn't something so simple as Kence tried to hide it
"If he will give to me the thing I want, this thing would be settle" Kence rolled his eyes, for him it was his own possession why did this Sven talk as if it was just normal to give it to him? Is he insane?
Calter on the other hand was choked by his own saliva and he immediately drink his water. "What happened to you?" Kence asked in puzzlement. Apparently, Sven's words made Calter to misunderstood things
He thought that Sven wanted to get Kence's virginity but the latter refused. If that was the case then it makes sense that Kence didn't want to say it to him
"W-well.... if you really want to get it why not make Kence feel that it was worth it to give to you. L-like treating him good or giving him presents. If you become too forceful to him he might give it someone else. This kind of things was not to be done forcefully"
Calter's words made Sven to stopped and ponder on things. True, Kence might do that if he push things too hard. He was still far from the level that he can forcefully seize the Heavenly Wishing Bell from Kence's sea of consciousness. Kence seems to have some talent too and that will make things harder for him to forcefully get the bell. Kence might even give it to someone else for protection saying that a Noble wanted the broken bell and it might be something special.
There was also the chance that Kence would die from a Blood Beast or other Cultivator's hands. If that happen how can he have the bell?
Sven nodded his head and continued eating. Thus, a big misunderstanding was made from the three. Calter thought that Sven's nod means he will treat Kence better and when he finally made the kid fall for him and trust him, Kence will sleep with him.
Sven and Kence on the other hand thought that it was just a general advice if you want to have the thing that was in another person's possession
The three continued eating but only Kence and Calter was talking as no matter what they do Sven won't just talk to them. This was because Sven was in a deep thought. He don't want to treat a mortal like Kence in a good way without a good reason. However, if he don't do that there was the risk that he will lose the chance to get the bell
He was really in a dilemma now, with his pride how can he stoop so low to curry favor with a human as weak as Kence? But the Heavenly Wishing Bell was a Supreme Treasure!
Anyone would die just to have it!
-----
After the three finished eating they walked back towards the dorm area. As usual, Kence and Calter was the only one talking while they were ignored by Sven
When they reached the dorm they parted ways with Calter as he was assigned in a different room. Another awkward silence between the two was made
Kence was afraid to say any more words as it might just be another stupid thing. While for Sven, well he simply just doesn't want to talk
Thus, the two entered their dorm without saying any words. When Kence was about to enter the room, Sven finally decided to talk
"If you need help tell me" then Sven entered his room leaving a dumbfounded Kence standing outside his room
Kence entered his room in daze at what just happened and took a seat on his bed. After some time he finally came back from his sense and thanked Calter on his mind. It looks like Calter's words were super effective, it's just that he don't have any plan on giving the bell to Sven no matter how he will treat him kindly
For him, this was the most important thing he has. It was the only proof that he really did lived in a different before. It was the only thing that has a connection to his previous world!
Throwing these things at the back of his mind for now, Kence closed his eyes and entered his sea of consciousness. As of now he already absorbed 11% of his Origin Blood. This was thanks to his now more stronger soul
If his soul was only as powerful like before it would take him weeks to be in this level. Thankfully, he gained a cultivation resources that greatly helped him a lot
Kence controlled his fog like soul power and wrapped the whole Origin Blood with it. Just like before his soul power gained those little blood red color specks of light. Those red particles travelled to his Blood Soul giving it more vitality and strength
"I am a blue bird, I am a blue bird" Kence repeated these words on his mind as if he was hypnotizing himself. The connection to Blood Soul was very important, he and the Blood Soul was the same entity
This means that he was also a Blue Bird. This was something he need to accept wholeheartedly to improve his connection with his own Blood Soul. With stronger connection he would be able to use more of its power while also being able to use it so naturally as if he was just breathing or moving other parts of his body
Since he has the chance to become stronger he would naturally seize it!

8 207Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
