"The Elders will randomly call your name. If you got called enter the battle ring immediately and start!"

On each of the three battle rings one Elder were assigned to give some pointers to the kids. Kence was both nervous and excited for this. Nervous that he might mess this chance up but also excited because if he did well he would be rewarded

The fight took a bit more time this time. The kids would demonstrate their current skills. The Elders on the other hand will give some pointers and time for the students to digest and do their advice

Many of the kids benefitted from this. Those Nobles who came from a weaker clan can't help but admit that the way these Elders teach them was a level higher than their own instructors

The Elders will also show a bit of their true power, thus igniting the student's passion to cultivate

"Student Kence it's your turn now!" One of the Elders shouted and Kence's nervousness increased. After waiting for some time it was finally his turn

A hand patted Kence's shoulder and he looked at his new friend "You can do it, trust yourself okay?" As usual, Calter was there to comfort him

Although they only met today the two felt like they are friends for a long time already. "Hmm" Kence nodded and walk to the Elder who called his name

As he was just a commoner he doesn't have a surname, surnames are only for those Noble Clans. This just cause more discrimination from the Nobles

When Kence entered the battle ring just like before a barrier surrounded them as to not let any attacks affect the people outside

"P-please guide me Elder" Kence said nervously and there is also a hint of shyness on his voice. The Elder in front of him was a woman who look like someone who was in mid 20's. She can be considered as a top class beauty. Her skin was as fair as snow and the curves of her body was enough to make men go crazy

The Elder smiled and although she was not trying to make herself more beautiful but that simple smile of hers made Kence gulp and increased his admiration for her.

"Do your best, student Kence" after saying this the Elder gave a small metallic sword to Kence. If before when he fought with other examinees no weapons were allowed but now the Elders gave the students a weapon to use. This will enable them to show their full power and potential. There was also no risk for the Elders. If an Elder with their power got injured that would be a joke! Just how powerful these Elders are? They are the core strength of the academy! Even the weakest of them are way far more powerful than kids who only started cultivating for a few months

Kence took the sword and decided to forget his admiration to the Elder for now, he still need to show exceptional fighting skills to satisfy the Elder and award him with resources. Thankfully, he has some experience using a sword. Well, wooden swords to be exact

He once again connected to the blue colored bird figure inside his soul and icy cold energy flowed on his body. Kence controlled this energy to travel from his body to the sword that enhances its power

Ice cold fogs formed on the sword giving it an ice attribute. The beautiful Elder nodded with satisfaction, for a commoner to have this level of skill was already good. With enough teachings and resources he can be superior than even talented Nobles

As soon as he strengthened his sword Kence immediately charged towards the Elder, even if he did his best he can't possibly cause injuries to her. Holding back now would only lower his chance in getting resources!

Kence slash his sword towards the Elder and was shock when the Elder didn't even dodge and was cut in half. However, for Kence it feels like he just cut the air which made him increase his guard

The 'Elder' dissolved into multiple flowers that attacked him. Using his sword he slashed the flowers coming to him but it was the same as before, it felt like hacking his sword on an empty space

"What's this? Illusion?" Kence looked at the remaining flowers coming to him. If it was really just an illusion he would just waste his Bloodline Power

Kence retreated trying to see if he can dodge these flowers but it was like they have eyes of their own and continued flying to him. Without a choice Kence tried to see if these flowers will harm him if it landed on his body. For him this was still an exam, the Elders can't possibly harm him

One of the flowers landed on his body before vanishing immediately without even damaging his clothes

"So it's really an illusion!" Kence said and just let the flowers do what they want. The other flowers landed on his body without leaving a single injury. Meanwhile, his eyes look everywhere at the battlefield to see the Elder. However, he cannot see even just her shadow

"Aw!" A slight painful sensation assaulted his shoulder and he saw a flower that did not vanish like the others

As if a ghost the Elder appeared in front of Kence frightening the kid. The Elder shook his head and said "Just because a single flower didn't harm you doesn't mean the others will be the same. If an illusion user can only make things that will vanish without harming their enemy why would they bother practicing their illusion skills"

The Elder's words cause Kence to feel a sense of shame, true he did not thought of something that simple. He thought that those flowers were just diversions

"Although you can't spread your sense yet but you can still try to feel if a thing contained Bloodline Power and Qi. Try again!" The Elder once again dissolved into multiple powers that surrounded Kence

Three flowers flew to attack him but Kence didn't sense any threat from those flowers and ignored them. The flowers landed on his body before vanishing. This time these flowers were just an illusion

Three more flowers decided to attack him. Kence tried sensing if these flowers contained any energy on them but he can't feel anything on the flowers too. Just like the first three flowers it vanished immediately after landing on his body

Another batch of flowers continued their assault. However, this time one of the flower has faster speed than the others. Kence's reflex reaction was to block this flower using his sword but when he turned his focus on that flower he can't sense power on it

Kence's eyes constricted when he turned his focus on the other flowers. As he didn't have enough time to use his sword he tried to move his body to dodge a flower coming from his side. However, he was a bit slow and it graze past his shoulder causing him some pain

The remaining flowers flock together and from them the beautiful Elder appeared as if nothing happened. "Not bad! Although you didn't completely dodge it but most people's reflex was to block the faster flower thinking it was the real one. While they wont spare a single thought for the other flowers"

Kence heaved a sigh of relief, although had the best possible outcome but at least he didn't mess things up

"Remember, when fighting an illusion user don't look for the illussion's momentum. Try sensing what contained power from them, although expert illusionist can make a false attack feel like a real one and make the real one to feel like a false attack. At least, people around your level still can't do that"

Kence nodded and noted the Elder's words, if she really wants to kill him, her illussion attacks can do that easily. Who knows, he might encounter powerful illussionist opponents in the future. Learning the basics was beneficial for him

"Okay, time to test your real strength. Attack me with all you've got!"

He enhanced his sword's power again and the layer of frosty energy surrounding it intensfies. Kence swung his sword towards the Elder, this time she didn't dissolved into multiples flowers. Also, from the feeling of cutting an air before now he felt like an invisible impregnable wall was separating his sword from the Elder

When the frosty sword was only a few centimeters from the Elder it encountered a great resistance and can't continue advancing any further

Kence push all of his strength to his hand to try destroying the invisible barrier but no matter what he do his sword just couldn't move further even for just a bit

"Hmm, you have decent power but the way you use your Bloodline power was still too crude" the Elder flicked the sword and Kence was push back a few steps away from her

The kid has a stupefied expression on his face. Although he already know that the Elder was more powerful than him but seeing that with a casual flick of her fingers he was easily push back still shock him

Just how much power does this beautiful woman in front of him has?

"You still don't have much connection on your Bloodline Soul, you should work on that" Kence knitted his eyebrows, this was the first time he heard about the 'Bloodline Soul'

"Elder, what do you mean Bloodline Soul?" The Elder blinked her beautiful eyes and remembered something

"My bad, I forgot you're not a Noble. Bloodline Soul is that figure inside your soul that formed when you absorbed your Origin Blood"

Oh, so its called Bloodline Soul. But doesn't that make it a soul inside a soul?

"The Bloodline Soul is the source of our Bloodline Power. Even those who can already store Qi on their body still rely much on their Bloodline Power. That is why a great connection to the Bloodline Soul was needed, the more you can connect to it the more it was easy to use more of its power"

"Then Elder, how can I improve my connection on my Bloodline Soul?" Since it was something that he needed to do to become stronger, the earlier he can improved his connection to that Bloodline Soul the better

"You must remember that your Bloodline Soul is like a part of your body. For example you were born with arms and as you grew older you will naturally know how to use it without any effort. The connection I am talking about was like you connecting your mind to your arms. As you are already used to it you can control it easily. We weren't born with Bloodline Soul and it's like we suddenly gained a new body part which made us unable to control it as natural as using our arms. Do you understand?"

The Elder asked thinking that what she said was too much for a ten years old kid to handle. A kid's mind was still not as develop as those in adults. It might be too hard for kids to absorb too much information. Thankfully, although Kence was in a body of a ten year old kid if you combined his age from the previous life and life he was already 28!

"I understand, Elder. Thank you for your advice!" Kence felt that this Elder was really too good and concerned about the students. With her power the kids can't possibly enter her eyes, much more a commoner kid but she still treated him kindly and patiently explain things to him

"Okay, that's good. Let us continue!"

Kence continued attacking the Elder with his sword while the latter occasionally give out some pointers which Kence absorbed like a sponge absorbing water. In just a short time his knowledge about cultivation rise and even his fighting skills improved!

This was just like a bonus question in an entrance exam but he already benefitted greatly. He was now sure that entering the academy was the best thing to do!

"Thank you for all your pointers, Elder" when his turn finished, Kence sincerely thanked the beautiful and kind Elder.

The Elder nodded and said "it's my job"

"So.. do you want to know if you are qualified to be given cultivation resources?" The Elder asked while having a teasing smile on her lips

Kence didn't think much of her beauty for now but gulped down hardly because of nervousness. Although he already benefitted greatly from her advice but he still yearn for cultivation resources

"D-did I pass Elder?" Instead of answering the Elder waved her hand and a small glass bottle with a white pill inside appeared

The kid's slightly large eyes widened in shock "I-Interspacial ring!"

Interspacial rings are precious items than even Kence has heard. It was so precious that some Noble Clan only has a few of it while the the Clans who just gained their Nobility Title doesn't even have at least one!

However, now this Elder actually has one!
