When I want to take a little nap, my stomach start growling. I haven't felt this sensation since coming to this world. Well, even I might felt hungry before, my mind might unconsciously told me to fight it, since I need to stay alert at all time. Right now, I feel safe here which is why I can start taking a better care of my body.

"Ah, that's right."

Before I go down to the diner, I remembered about all those people out there carrying weapon in the open, which is why I reach out to my knife before going out. As for the other knife, I left it near the clothes I bought. Thankfully they both come with sheath, but well, there is no reason to bring two knives at once, and it feel really weird for me to walking around carrying a knife as a weapon. Yeah, one is enough, I should get used first.

Then I go down to the diner.

--- Kain City's Leasdas Inn's Diner ---

The Diner is only open in the morning until afternoon. Well, the only person I saw working here is Barou who keep going in and out when there is a customer coming. But, there seems to be another person working as a chef. But, yeah, there are not many customer dining here, even right now, there are only 2 customers. Though I do like the food.

"Oh, Taka. Since you coming here, want to eat something?"

Barou called me and offer me to order something. Well, I do want to eat, but I haven't thought about the price at all.

"Ah, yes. But, first, can I have the menu?"

"The menu? Well, you can see the menu on the wall."

Oh, well, I do realize there are some words on the wall and thought those are some kind of menu, but, there is no price at all. As for the drinks, there are milk and fruit juice which I can kind of understand what I will drink, but as for the food . . . What with those Breakfast Set, Morning Set, Lunch Set, Noon Set, and Special Set. . . The one I know only that Breakfast Set, how do I'm able to know what I'm going to eat if I order the other set!?

"Ah, no, I mean, I want to know about the price, I don't really have that much actually."

"Hmm? Oh, alright, to sum it up, Breakfast and Lunch Set is 2 Silver each, Morning and Noon Set is 3 Silver each, and Special Set is 5 Silver"

*Whew... Yes!! I can still eat with the money I have right now. I was afraid I can't actually eat with only 4 Silver coin.

"Ah, then 1 Noon Set, please."

I was wondering which set I should take, but since I have tried the 2 Silver coin Set, might as well try the 3 Silver coin Set one.

"Alright, 1 Noon Set will be coming in a moment!"

After waiting for a short while, Barou has bring me the food.

"Let me repeat your order 1 Noon Set, and that's all, right?"

"Ah, yes, thank you."

"Please, enjoy the food."

Then Barou go to the receptionist desk, seems like he is working on something. Well, for what I know, he is not a bad businessman.

*huh!?

As for the food, the Noon Set looks a bit different from the Breakfast Set. it's a bowl of rice topped with some cut of meats and stir-fried green vegetables smeared with some kind of dark-colored sauce, And a glass of water as the drink.

*ugh.. Seeing rice for the first time in a while, makes me even more hungry. And the bowl is even bigger than the one used for sauce in Breakfast Set. A difference of 1 Silver coin is too much!! But still, there is only a spoon to use.. Man, how I want to use chopsticks . . .

Anyway, I start eating the food.

I carefully taste each of the food, first I try the rice, it's a bit stickier than the rice I had before but it's easier to chew and swallow, furthermore, there is a kind of a slight sweet after-taste.

Next, I try the meat, it's the same meat from the Breakfast Set, but it's grilled and with dark-colored sauce smeared on it, it become easier to chew than before and it has a salty but sweet taste.

Last, I try the vegetable, it looks like a stir-fried of cabbage and green pepper, I thought I will have a hard time to eat them, but it actually has a crispy texture, and easy to swallow, and with that sauce, I can taste the same salty but sweet taste but I can also taste a bit spiciness on it.

Then, I tried to eat all of them in a spoonful . . . The textures are all over the place, but it actually become fun to eat, each bite gives me a different kind of feeling, especially from the crispiness of the stir-fried vegetable. As for the taste, I thought it will be too sweet, but that bit of saltiness from the sauce cover the sweetness which makes me want to eat even more, and the extra spiciness from the stir-fried vegetable will sometimes come out suprising me which give some variation even in the middle of the meal.

--- Several minutes later ---

"*Phew . . . I'm stuffed."

After finish eating, I go to the receptionist desk to pay for the meal.

--- Kain City's Leasdas Inn ---

"Barou, here is 3 Silver coin, for the food."

"Oh, you have finished? Thanks for coming, do come again."

Then, I go back to my room, at least that was my plan. Just when I get closer to the stair, the door of the inn opened by Minna.

"Ah, Uncle Taka!"

"Oh, how was the library?"

"it's the same as usual."

"Hmm. . . What are those?"

It seems Minna was not only went to the library, but she also bought some things, yeah, like in that small sac she hold.

"*Ehem.. hehehe. These are all items for my new life as an adventurer."

Now I take a better look of Minna, she also carries her knife, the one we bought just yesterday. But, yeah, though she is just a kid in my eyes, seems like the definition of kid itself is different in this world, she even about to join adventurer guild.

"I've got a hairpin, some potion, and also a scroll about adventurer guild's mission."

Minna showed me all of the item she bought, the hairpin in her bag, and potions and a scroll from the sac.

"Ah, Minna, can you show me where the adventurer guild is?"

Well, since we're talking about it, it piqued my interest about adventurer guild, I might as well ask her to guide me to the adventurer guild. I do want to visit it soon or later.

"Hmm? Uncle want to go to the adventurer guild?"

"yes. I want to see how it looks."

"Alright then, leave it to me~ but, let me put this first."

"Ah, alright, I'll be waiting here."

Then Minna goes to her room, to put her sac and bag. After that, she come straight to me and we go off to the adventurer guild.

--- Kain City's Adventurer Guild ---

It doesn't take us long to reach adventurer guild, it actually not that far from the inn we are staying, the merchant guild is much further than this.

"Here we are!"

The moment we get into the guild, Minna said that, which confirmed that this is adventurer guild.

it's a bit smaller than merchant guild, the first room we got into is about 17 m x 24 m. Receptionist desk on my front-left, a small stall on my left, and a lot of table-chair set on my right. But, there are more people here, though it might be also because the test day is coming.

"So, Uncle, what do you want to do?"

Ah, that's right, I was the one who want to come here. . .

"Minna. . . is there a training ground around here?"

"Training ground? Uncle want to train!?"

"Ah . . . Well, kind of training. yes.."

. . . My reason to come here is to observe others, and I've heard that observing is some form training...

"Then, let's ask the receptionist first."

Then Minna goes off to the receptionist.

"Excuse me . . ."

"Is there something you need?"

The receptionist answering with a kind and clear voice is a woman, might be in her 30's, she has a kind but stern look on her face.

"Can we go into the training ground?"

"The training ground? And you are?"

"I'm Minna, the aspiring adventurer to be."

"a test-taker? Then, you might come and see the training ground, but you are not allowed to use it."

"Ehh~"

Oh, so the training ground is for adventurer guild member exclusive use. Well, it's their property so it's their right to do anything they want to it. But still, we are allowed to see.

"Uncle, should we go back?"

Minna looks at me with a kind of dejected looks.

"Huh? Ah.. But first, let's go to the training ground and take a look at what kind of place is it."

"Heeeh.. But, we are not allowed to train, why bother."

"You will be spending a lot of your time as an adventurer, right? Then, taking an early look at any facilities they have might be able to help you later on."

"Really? Well, we don't really have any important thing to do right now."

Then, Minna goes back to the receptionist. . .

"Receptionist-san, I want to take a look."

"*sigh.. alright, then. . . Pia, can you accompany her to the training ground?"

Then, Pia, the woman who looks like in her 20's come and guide us to the training ground.

--- Kain City's Adventurer Guild's Training Ground ---

The training ground is behind the main building, well, we do walk for quite a bit before reaching the training ground. The adventurer guild is quite big, the merchant guild might be even bigger than this though.

"Here we are, the training ground."

"Uwaah. So this is the training ground. So, will uncle train here?"

"*ahem.. Do please not train if you are not an adventurer. You might bother the other adventurer."

"Ehh~ but, there are quite some empty space . . . Can't we train over there?"

It's true that there are not many using the training ground right now, or there are not that many adventurer to start with? Well, still, it's great, I can observe the others while they are training.

"I will call you guys when it's time to go, you guys are allowed to take a look around."

Now I'm looking at it, the training ground is so big, much bigger than the room with receptionist before. Well, there should be much more movement so there should be some more space to use.

. . . Hmm? Over there, is that Dia?

"Hmm? Is there something over there? . . . Ah, isn't that Dia-san?"

Then Minna run off and greet Dia.

" . . . Minna and . . Taka?"

Dia noticed us and stopped her training.

"Hi, Dia-san!"

"What do you guys come here for?"

"That's right, Dia-san. Can you listen to me . . . It seems Uncle Taka wants to train here, but the receptionist woman said we are only allowed to observe, no more than that.."

"Do you want to train?"

"Huh? Well, not right now, they did say we are not allowed to train for now."

Looking at it, Dia has a different weapon right now, it's more like a dagger than a knife.

"Hmm? This? A knife will be less effective when in a face-to-face battle."

Seems like I was staring too much, that Dia suddenly giving some explanation about her choice of weapon.

"Hey! Dia!!"

From behind me, Graim come and calling Dia.

"Huh? Taka!? Oh, and Minna.. What are you guys doing here?"

"Um.. Well, observing..."

"Oh, Graim-san."

"Ah, that's right, Silent Woods group just arrived. You might want to come."

Just then, the atmosphere become a bit heavier . .

"Well, see you next time Taka, Minna"

After saying that, Graim and Dia go off, might be meeting that Silent Woods group.

"So, Uncle, what should we do right now?"

"Ah, then, let's go back to the Inn."

Then the both of us get out from the Adventurer Guild after saying our thanks to the receptionist.

--- in front of Kain City's Adventurer Guild ---

Right after we get out of the Adventurer Guild, Cress was there, yet with another lots of goods on his hand.

"Oii.. Cress."

"Cress-san"

"Hmm? Oh, Taka and Minna. So you guys going out together."

"What's with you, another shopping spree?"

"*Hum.. As a merchant I can't overlook a lot of new item that comes in."

"Heeh. what is it? what kind of item are you buying, Cress-san?"

"There are a lot, of course, Minna might also want to take a look at some of them."

"So, are you still going around for another shopping?"

"No, I've done for the day.. It's getting dark, let's have dinner at Arme diner on our way back."

"Agreed~"

"Well, let's go."

Then we have our dinner before going back to Leasdas inn.... Ending our day.
