Chapter 2. A broken heart.
In the burning third floor of a building, a body was laying there.
Around it were a group of people that had two females, and four males, they were around the age of 20.
"That’s him, Tyndraid. I lived next to him for three years, even though his face is burned a little, it’s him."
After one of the men said that, the tallest and strongest looking warrior nodded and said
"Very well. Call a priest and let him heal him."
Hearing his words all of them got shocked.
One of the girls said with cold eyes "why not just kill him?"
The tall one stared for a long time, and his calm eyes turned bloodshot, he said "we… we can't let him die so easily, and the boss must see him, so she can decide what do to with him."
All of them agreed to what he said and starting executing his orders.
___
On a deserted land, a man was tied to a pillar of wood.
Around him, some males and females had a white light coming out of their hands; the light headed straight at the body of a man who was tied.
And that man was naturally Tyndraid.
Suddenly the light stopped coming out.
The group surrounding him backed off and went to the side.
After a brief moment, tyndraid eyes started twitching.
He slowly opened his eyes to see an unbelievable scene.
He saw seas of people around him, easily surpassing tens of thousands, looking at him with hateful, bloodshot eyes.
If not for his limited view, he would have seen more than a million standing, giving him the same look.
At one side a woman was sitting on a chair, surrounded by women around her acting like bodyguards, the people were staying 50 meters away from them.

They dared neither looking at her nor being anywhere near her.
In front of the swarms of people stood a line of men that created a circle, with a Tall and mighty look, holding their spears beside them, they stopped the people from charging toward tyndraid.
The people could only throw rocks and curses.
"Fuck you; my daughter died because of you." While holding a dull in his hand, holding it so tightly that it started tearing apart."
"You damned maniac, I hope you die in a horrible way, feeling the pain my children felt." Said another man while crying.
"I lost my leg you…"
"I…"
Curses and words of hatred came from everywhere at him.
Tyndraid was dumbfounded.
How… how did they know? He lowered his head as he lost himself in his thoughts, no one knew what he was thinking, but it certainly wasn't regret. The old world gave nothing but a tattered life.
He wanted a chance in life. He was sure that there are other people like him. What he did is not a mistake.
You people had your chances, and now it's my turn to have one.
After hearing waves after waves of cursing only then, did tyndraid look the at the woman sitting on the chair with disbelieving eyes.
He said while nearly crying "Na… Natalia?"
He felt pain is his heart.
Yes, Natalia, the girl he loved, who used to be lively and happy, was now looking at him with cold eyes.
She had golden hair and eyes, Pointed nose, curvy body, she looked beautiful and alluring, but those eyes can kill any dirty thought.
After brief seconds of starting at each other, Natalia unsheathed a dagger while standing up and started walking slowly towards tyndraid.
Step by step, with every step Tyndraid felt the throbbing pain in his heart increase.

She stood in front of him and leaned closer to his ears and said "I trusted you… helped you to finish the game so you can get your wish. You desperately lived every day to get it. I thought I was helping you; I liked you more and more with every moment passing, getting closer to you was another form of happiness for me, and I know you liked me. But… my family died because of your wish, you broke my heart, betraying my trust you selfish… monster"
After saying that Natalia leaned back and looked at tyndraid, waiting for him to answer.
But what could he say? He knew that she would hate him, but this was too sudden, he can't even look her in the eyes. He could not find anything to use as an excuse.
Seeing him not answering, she lifted her dagger and started cutting through his skin, avoiding mortal injuries.
He did not scream aloud, but his heart cried in agony, maybe it was from the pain of his skin being cut or maybe from the person who was torturing him.
with every inch being cut his heart bled.
She suddenly halted at looked at the sea of people behind her and said: "Every one of you will come and make a cut. Don't worry about him dying; he won't be allowed to die this fast. We most tutor him slowly and painfully, We must make him suffer as our families did. Healers, restore your mana with potions, heal him whenever he's about to die'"
people cheered and thanked Natalia.
A man was allowed to pass through the guards. Holding a dagger which was taken from Natalia, he stood in front of Tyndraid and said with heinous eyes "your look... I saw the same look in my daughter's eyes while a monster was killing her. I hope you feel more pain than her; only then her soul can rest in peace. Feel regret pain." he lifted the dagger, readying himself to cut Tyndraid's skin.
"AHHHH!!"
No one knows who screamed first, but. Everyone looked at the sky to see a rain of Meteoroids coming in their direction.

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them. If you read this story then you won't lack for content. -- The Topps Company, Inc. has sole ownership of the names, logo, artwork, marks, photographs, sounds, audio, video and/or any proprietary material used in connection with the game Shadowrun. Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
