《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 37: Wish

Terios leapt back to avoid the flames of despair. He watched as they slowly crawled toward him before stopping by his feet. His gaze was locked on the man who gave birth to him; his father Azazel.
"Hahahaha! This was really want you wanted, Azazel? You wanted Terios to get stronger just so you could fight him?" Akihisa asked.
"You're half correct. I wanted my dear son to unleash his full capabilities so he would be worthy enough of being my vessel."
"A vessel?" Terios asked.
"That is my wish son. Together our powers will far exceed my previous limitations. And with that power we will be able to take back the throne in Heaven."
"You're crazy if you think I'll be your vessel!"
Akihisa stared at his father for a bit before he turned his attention to his brother. He was interested in the part about becoming a vessel.
"You have no right to deny your father. Think of your mother. Don't let her death be in vain."
Azazel held out a finger as spark of dark red energy surged before firing off a thin but deadly beam. Terios was barely able to avoid it, but wasn't able to avoid the explosions that followed. The force of it sent him flying into the air.
While in midair Azazel soared up after him and grabbed his son by the face, clenching his hand tightly around him before he sent him forward into the ground. The impact caused the ground to crack lightly.
"Uggh!"
Terios slowly raised his head as he looked up at his father. His movement wasn't nearly as fast as Kazuki, but his strength was still great.
I know I can beat him with everything I had to go through. I'll show him just how much I've grown.
Terios picked himself up, glancing over to Akihisa before he went back to watching the Fallen Angel. He clenched his fist as he summoned a swarm of tendrils, the shadows danced in opposite directions as they tried to fake out Azazel.
The Seraphim wasn't pleased as he held out both hands to generate a dark red force-field. The field blocked the shadows from entering and caused them to fade away.
"You're improving, but you aren't able to harm me with something that I have embraced. The darkness and I are one of the same."
"My darkness isn't like yours. I'm using my darkness to save people. My darkness will influence the light that I will bring!"
He held out his left hand as he fired a few shots of his light energy. The beams clashed into the force-field a few times before it broke through. Afterwards, he'd send his shadow tendrils to latch onto his father.
Using his upper body strength he slammed his father onto the ground before he started to swing him around, picking up speed every time he went around. He gritted his teeth as he picked up even more speed until finally letting go causing the Fallen to go flying through the air.

As he flew off, Terios picked up speed and dashed for him, sending a shadow imbued fist directly into his chest causing a thin cracking sound to be heard.
What the heck? Is this what's been protecting him from my attacks?
"Ahh, you finally found it. My personal shield that envelops my body. It's what keeps me safe from most forms of damage. I never dreamed that you'd be able to crack it. You've ripened nicely!"
Azazel spun around, forcing his wings to slam into his son which caused him to skip across the ground before picking himself up and rubbing his chin. That attack managed to slap the taste out of his mouth.
"So that's what it was..."
I need to focus on attacking his chest to break that shield. He'll probably be protecting that area more.
He placed his hands on the ground causing it to light up brightly before it traveled along below the area where Azazel floated. Soon, it'd release an eruption of blinding light filled with intense heat.
Azazel used his force-field to negate most of the attack, but he could still feel the heat from it. He sighed softly before laughing. Shards of his force-field were falling onto the ground and soon crumbled.
"You should thank me. I gave you life."
"But you stole someone else's to do that."
"She hates you for that, just so you know."
"Save it."
"It's true. Would you like to see?"
"…"
Azazel descended below and raised his hand into the air before a faint red light flashed out across the area. Akihisa covered his eyes while Terios chose to stare directly into it. When it cleared there was a woman standing next to him; a woman with purple colored hair and eyes.
"You... bastard..."
"Say hello to your mother. Megumi."
"Is this real...?"
"… Why am I back...?"
Megumi wore a simple business outfit the same outfit she wore on that fateful day. Azazel placed a hand on her back before he encouraged her to go over to her son to which she denied.
"Don't you want to see how strong our son grew?"
"I don't care about him..."
"…"
"I hate the two of you for what you did to me. You took away my dreams..."
"Mother..."
"If it wasn't for you I would still be in school learning to be a lawyer. All of my hard work and patience was for nothing. My entire life was a joke..."
He's just trying to get inside of my head...
"Looks like I'm not the only life you've ruined, Terios. You just can't help being a curse to everyone you come in contact with." Akihisa said as harsh as he could.

"…"
"I hate you! You stole my life! I hate you!" Megumi shouted with complete hatred for her son.
"…"
Terios slowly fell to his knees and covered his face with his hands.
It isn't my fault... this isn't my fault... If it wasn't for Azazel she wouldn't have died...
"Mom... it's ok that you hate me. You can hate me all you want to. I don't blame you. No I want you to hate me. I'd feel bad if you didn't. Just know that I'm going to make him pay for what he did to us. I wish I could have known you..."
Azazel simply stared at Megumi and his son watching their interactions until the woman faded away into a cloud of smoke.
"You'll avenge the woman who wants nothing to do with you?"
Terios held out a fist toward Azazel, staring at him with intensity as a twilight blue aura began to surround his body. "Yeah. This fist is going straight through your chest!"
In his left hand he conjured up light in his right hand he formed darkness. When combining these two properties he created an element called 'twilight' a mixture of both properties.
"Light and darkness are two elements that live in all of us father. We're all capable of good and evil. You were once destined to do great things until you fell into the clutches of evil. Your final good deed was giving birth to me. The person who'll stop you."
"What a pompous speech. You make it seem as if you won't fall pray to my wish."
Terios moved both of his hands in front of him as he began to generate twilight blue colored tendrils which then shot out at faster than anyone could react. They all clashed into Azazel and managed to pierce through his force-field and impale his body in various places.
"My... this is extraordinary..."
Using the tendrils he managed to pull him toward him while infusing his right fist with his twilight fist. Once he was in range he sent in flying directly through Azazel's chest causing blood to splatter out, coating his hand in crimson.
"Hahaha... perfect. You're a worthy vessel."
"That's not going to happen."
Azazel pulled himself away from his fist the hole in his chest slowly healing. It would seem in order to defeat him completely Terios would have to unleash an ultimate attack.
"Your healing is a pain."
Azazel forged an orb of his dark red energy and caused it to hover. In an instant it would begin firing multiple blasts at Terios who was kept on his toes to avoid it to the best of his abilities. When his guard was down Azazel rammed into him, knocking him on the ground.
Once on the ground Azazel sent a dark beam into the air which soared into the sky before breaking apart into multiple streams which crashed down against Terios. The force of the attack sent him deeper into the ground.
Approaching him Azazel then called the red orb into his hand which he would then crush, releasing a mild shockwave which sent Terios sliding through the ground.
"Had enough yet?"
"Not just yet."
Standing up from the ground Terios shook off any injuries he had been given and then summoned various tendrils of his twilight which soared toward Azazel. The Fallen Angel generated a mild pulse of energy to try and disrupt it, but they all impaled through him.
But, he wasn't done just yet. Moving a hand to grab onto one of the tendrils he focused on it until a trail of twilight blue colored flames traveled forward, making their way toward the Seraphim until it engulfed him in these burning flames.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!"
Azazel screamed as the flames began to burn him. The infusion of light and darkness was proving to be a lot more than he thought he could handle. His flesh was starting to peel off and his wings were featherless; simply flesh. His skin which was once a radiant tone was now burning meaty flesh.
When the flames subdued and the tendrils faded he collapsed to his knees as he was shocked that he couldn't heal himself.
"What did you do to me!? What did you do!?"
"My Twilight Flames will purge you from this world father. You'll know the fate of all those who suffered by your hands."
"Stop fooling around! Akihisa help me!"
Akihisa started to get involved, but Terios moved a hand out to him.
"Don't if you know what's good for you."
Azazel began to crawl his way over away from his son and over to Akihisa who seemed so far away. As he moved he felt tendrils stab into his legs which caused him to cry out in pain. His hand reached out for Akihisa as he basically begged him to help.
"Help me, Akihisa! Don't let him kill me! I need you!"
Hearing those words stunned Akihisa for a moment. This was the first time he felt that somebody needed him and instantly he knew what he had to do. He approached his father and stared at Terios who didn't show any movements.
"He's just using you!"
"Hehehehe! You think you know everything! You don't know about my bond with our father."
Akihisa held out his hand to grab onto Azazel's. The Fallen Angel simply smirked as he felt his hand within his burnt one.
"Change of plans. I'll settle for you. You'll be my vessel! Fulfil my wish!"
