《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 28: Grigori

Eli stood not too far from Rikuto and a fiery embodiment of his mother. She was frightening to see, but either way she had to be stopped. Although his ability may be troubling, he's still a kid and he has less battle experience. Which means the victor has already been selected.
Knowing this Eli was met with ease, yet, hurting this kid wasn't something he wanted to do. He wanted to see him get better and change his life around. In order to do that he'd have to defeat him here and break him away from Kazuki and his plot at revenge.
Eli smiled as he stared at the mother born from flames, he held out his hand as he forged a blade from his divine energy which would then take the shape of his crimson colored Jian. "All right, I'll play with you for a bit."
"That's what I like to hear~. We're all here for a good time after all, hehe." Rikuto smirked as he started to manipulate the flames of his mother.
Her body moved with a mixture of grace and bloodlust every step it took caused Eli's hair to stand on end and when it finally approached he ducked an oncoming strike and kept his distance.
Swiftly every move she made was nimbly avoided by the better combatant. Eli knew it'd grow tired if he just kept on avoiding it and when it let its guard down he'd finish it with his finishing move. That's how he'll win this battle.
"Don't be shy, Eli! Mother just wants to give you a hug!"
"Sorry, but I'd rather not."
Eli kept his focus on the mother who released a wave of flame at him, however this wouldn't stop him. With the swing of his blade he managed to cut through the flames as if it was a tangible source.
The mother's arm would then extend, attempting to latch onto his frame. Even though Eli's defenses were great prolonged forms of heat would damage him. Letting her grab onto him wouldn't be wise.
He leapt back, watching the woman's hand crashing into the ground. While he was still in the air her arm came out of the ground and went after him. It was a clever tactic on his part. Luckily he had another trick up his sleeve.
"That's not going to work on me! Divine Slash!"
Eli's blade was charged with his divine energy, his eyes changed to a light grey complexion as he swung his blade down, sending a crescent of energy down below to bisect the hand of flames.
When he landed on the ground he was preparing another one for the mother this time. Taking that thing out would kill most of Rikuto's energy. He used so much to focus on moving her around that he should be spent.
With one more quick swing he sent another crescent of energy towards Rikuto's mother who was unable to avoid the attack. The strength of it easily sliced it in half and caused it to disperse.
"It's over, Rikuto. Give up."
"No fair! You cheated!"
"How?"
"You weren't suppose to use a sword in this fight!"

"But, we never established any rules."
"That isn't the point!"
Rikuto conjured up flames within his palms, preparing to continue his assault on Eli, but he couldn't keep the flames alive and they quickly burnt out leaving a trace of smoke. This angered Rikuto who wanted to continue playing.
"You're out of juice. Looks like you lose."
"Hahaha! I guess so. Losing a battle sucks, but winning the war will make up for it."
"Huh?"
"Oops, I said too much."
"Rikuto. Where's Kazuki?"
"I'm not supposed to tell."
Eli allowed his blade to return to nothing before he approached Rikuto who grew scared at the approaching Nephilim. His eyes closed and his body tensed up at the unknown. He felt a firm hand rest on his shoulder while Eli looked at him.
"Rikuto. This is serious. I know you aren't a bad kid. You just got involved with the wrong kind of people. I'm not going to force you to tell me, but just know the world will change heavily depending on your answer."
"How will it change?"
"If Kazuki gets this war then there'll be constant fighting and death. More people will suffer not just us. Innocent people will suffer. If you tell me where he is and I manage to stop him then just maybe everyone will have a change of heart about us. There's good and bad people so it's only natural to assume there's good and bad Nephilims."
"You make a good point, Eli. If I tell you what will you do with me?"
"You should go back to the mental facility and let them help you."
"No way! Those people just keep me drugged up. I can't even tell my left from my right with the medication there."
"I'll explain to them then. But, right now you're dangerous to a lot of people ad yourself. You'll be facing jail time if you don't go back."
"Fine. I don't really know where Kazuki went. All I know is its big. I was simply acting as a decoy to throw you off of his trail!"
"You don't know, really?"
"Nope!"
Eli sighed softly at Rikuto's information well lack of. Before he knew it the gang was returning after saving as many people as they could from the flames.
"Well, I did all that I could." Akemi said.
"We got a few people out. What's the situation here?" Terios asked.
"Rikuto won't be a problem anymore. He told me all that he knew about Kazuki, unfortunately it isn't much."
"Figures." Akemi said.
"Hmm. So he doesn't know where he is?" Terios asked.
"I don't. Sorry!" Rikuto said.
"Let's head back to Kodomo's place. We can think out our next moves there."
Inside of Kodomo's.
The group returned shortly meeting back up with their friends along with Rikuto who was still planning on being sent to the mental facility he came from.
"So, you didn't learn anything new? That sucks." Kodomo said.
"Don't worry, we'll think of something." Eli said.
"If Kazuki manages to go through with his plan then it's literally going to be Hell on Earth." Akari stated.

"We won't let it get that far."
As the group talked among each other they could feel massive energy approaching them and soon they heard a knock on the door. It was so sudden that everyone became quiet. Kodomo approached the door and opened it up, revealing a tall person dressed in black robes and covering most of his face with a hood.
"Hello kids." The robed figure said.
"Uhh. Who the hell are you?" Kodomo asked.
"Don't be alarmed. I'm here to ask all of you a favor."
"What's that?"
"You see, I'm Kazuki's father. And I'm responsible for what's going to happen if he isn't stopped."
"Kazuki's father, huh? Well come on in."
The man thanked him and walked into the room, glancing at everyone before he removed his hood, showing off his long red hair and crimson red eyes. "My name is Samyaza everyone. And I understand that you are concerned with the action that my son, Kazuki will be taking. I am here to help."
Elsewhere.
The members of Grigori which consisted of Kazuki, Nogah, Hillel, Shizuka, and Emi were walking deep within the woods miles away from any form of people. Trees nearly as high as the sky surrounded them. The area was filled with tension as they searched for a particular object.
"It should be around here." Kazuki said.
"Are you sure about this brother?" Emi asked.
"If I wasn't I wouldn't have ventured out this far."
Kazuki wore a short sleeve black and white plaid shirt and grey jean shorts. He always had a sad expression on his face which was amplified by his eyes. These very eyes told a story and it filled him with determination to accomplish his one goal.
"Kazuki. You don't think that we'll have any visitors do you?" Hillel asked.
"We most likely will. Something will come up."
Just up ahead all by itself was a lone red glowing orb which levitated into the air and sparked with traces of red energy. Kazuki slowly approached it and raised out his right hand.
"He said to infuse it with divine energy and we'd be taken to its realm." Kazuki muttered, letting his hand glow white as his energy caressed the orb. Soon after a wave of the red energy engulfed the area causing everyone to scream while a blinding light surrounded the area.
When their eyes adjusted to the landscape everything was different. The trees they saw were covered with stains of blood and hanging from the top of the spike like a trophy were severed skulls.
The area felt hot for some reason as if it was reflecting the amount of rage felt here. Further ahead was a trail of dead bodies and rotting flesh. Blood casually decorated their weapons and armors.
"What the hell is this?" Nogah asked."
"I must write! Seeing this is remarkable." Hillel started to write within his journal.
"I-I'm scared!" Shizuka shouted.
"Brother..." Emi whispered softly.
Soon a deep voice echoed throughout the area saying one simple word in a neutral tone. "Come."
"You heard it. We'll move forward." Kazuki said calmly as they went on.
"I've seen enough. I'll stay here, Kazuki." Nogah said.
"That's fine. When he's defeated this area will return to normal."
Th group went off, leaving Nogah behind while they ventured deeper into the bloodstained forest.
Meanwhile.
At Kodomo's house, Samyaza was going over everything that was about to take place. His tone was serious as ever.
"My son is going to unleash the horseman known as War. The longer it is activated the longer it'll effect the land of the living. Our only way of stopping it would be to kill it."
"How do we do that?'
"Well, you'll have to go into an area which only your kind can reach. Once there you'll eventually come upon a orb of intense energy which keeps them sealed. Fill that orb with your divine energy and then you'll reach its domain."
"Hmm. How did Kazuki find out about this?" Terios asked.
"Most likely from your father, Azazel."
"He's the one who got Kazuki to do this?"
"That's my guess. Either way. He has to be stopped or the people will be lost to this energy."
"Show us where he is and we'll put an end to this."
"It isn't that simple."
"It never is. Why can't things be more chill?" Ira asked.
"The only people allowed to enter such an area are humans. Your sister wouldn't be able to trespass there."
"What? Really?"
"Neither would your brother since he has a degree of demonic energy in him."
"Tch." Akemi muttered.
"I won't be able to be with Teri-kun? What would happen if I were to go?" Setsuna asked.
"You wouldn't be able to. You'd be blocked off." Samyaza answered.
"Don't worry about me, Setsuna. I'll be fine." Terios said.
"Teri-kun..."
"In all honesty at your current level of power... Kazuki wouldn't be bothered by you." Samyaza declared.
"Is he really that strong?" Terios asked.
"Indeed. However, I can help you unlock your full power. As I did with my son."
"Really? Are you serious?"
"It'll just take time. Which we don't have."
"No. It'll be fine. We can stall Kazuki if that's what it'll take." Eli said.
"I understand. You are certainly brave. I'll install the location of where they are into your minds. Just close your eyes."
The group did as they were told and soon knowledge was filled into their mind. The location of where Kazuki was like a memory to them. Now all they had to do was find him before it was too late.
"Guess we'll just have to wait and hope for the best. What a pain." Akemi complained.
"Don't worry, this won't take long." Kodomo said.
"Rikuto. Stay here for now. After this is finished I'll come back to take you there." Eli said.
"If you say so."
Eli, Ira, Akari and Kodomo were preparing to pursue Kazuki and his team. Stopping the Grigori's plan to release War was their main priority.
"Be careful Akari. Don't push yourself too hard." Terios said.
"Don't worry about me, Teri-kun." Akari said before leaving.
"Now let's begin the process." Samyaza said as he placed his index finger on Terios' forehead.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Your Mundane Transmigration Into Another World
My second fiction here, it might be similar to the first, but I will focus on improving consistency as it was not very good. The idea is to make a completely ordinary isekai story, but make it right - no cliche, some originality etc. I do not yet know where it will go, but it will involve dungeons at some point, transmigraiton, demons, elves, humans, undead. I will strive for regular updates every friday, but my writing speed is that of a slime (not a native speaker), so I might not deliver every week. Feel free to write what you think, I welcome feedback. HIATUS - will continue after I am done with my other book, I am unable to write two at the same time.
