《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 6: Monster

Things were heating up as battle lines were drawn. Akemi, Keiko, and Setsuna were being hunted like monsters and the members of the church planned to purify them. The Kiyomizus had isolated themselves from the world for the protection of their family and others who didn't need to get involved with them. Now all of that was coming to an end.
"How pathetic. You're the kind of people I hate the most. Little sheep who'll blindly follow orders." Akemi insulted them.
"Watch your mouth, little demon." Shou fired back.
"You want to see a demon, huh? I'll be glad to show you all just how much of a demon I am." Akemi said as he began to approach the group, judging by the way he walked he was very confident with his abilities on the field of battle.
"Hmm." Shou noticed this and was deciding who would be best suited to take out the first demon from the Kiyomizu. Before he could feel confident about his own choice, Akemi broke his concentration.
"Hey. I'm willing to take all of you on at once. I just want to get this shit out of the way."
The cockiness presented from this guy, was he all talk or did he have a reason to be carefree about the situation? He was a good bluffer if he was acting.
"Miki! Setsuko! Take care of this one quickly. I'll handle the older woman. Honoka, handle the pale looking one." Shou barked out orders and everyone followed.
"I have to fight two girls? Wonderful." Akemi sighed. "Follow me, I'd rather fight somewhere your screams won't be heard. Although, I doubt that'll be possible."
Miki and Setsuko remained quiet and gazed at Shou who gave a stern nod.
"You're truly stupid aren't you? You're leading yourself into your own grave, don't you know?" Shou asked of the silver haired teen.
"Whatever, think what you want. It'll enhance that stupid look you'll give when you're flat on your ass." Akemi fired off before walking off deeper into the woods with Miki and Setsuko trailing behind him.
Keiko watched nervously as her son walked off with two people who wanted to destroy him. This was how these churches treated others with gifts that could be viewed as demonic by nature.
"Setsuna, are you ready dear?" Keiko turned her head to look at her daughter.
"Always.." Setsuna raised her hand into the air, a purple portal opening from above as she reached into it and pulled out a black scythe which she held firmly.
Akemi causally walked through the forest with his hands gently inside the pockets of his hoodie until he thought he was deep enough. He would cease his movement and slowly turn around to face the two.
The one on the left was known as Miki, a young woman who stood at five foot three, her hair was as white as snow and her eyes were blue like the sky. She wore a black skirt with a red tank top covered by a leather jacket. Along her right hand were chains wrapped tightly around it.
On the right was her friend Setsuko who stood at five foot four, her hair was short and colored black while her eyes were a hazel color. She wore brown jeans and a white blouse. Strapped to her side was a blade she had yet to unsheathe.

Akemi was defenseless not bothering to use any weapons of the sorts. He depended completely on his supernatural abilities which gave him enough time to practice it. His head tilted slightly, cracking it some before he sighed.
"I'm going to give you once chance to run away. This way I don't seem like the bad guy here."
"You think we'll run because you say so? You obviously have no idea who you're fighting." Setsuko said before pulling out her sword. "Durandal, majestic sword, purify the heavens!" She said as she aimed the blade towards the silver haired boy, firing a vortex through it which roared its way towards him.
"Oh? Interesting, for a rookie." Akemi held out his hand when the vortex got near him, he was unaffected by the strength of it and simply caused it to blow itself out. The refreshing wind causing his hair to fly around wildly along with his clothes.
"What did he do to it...?" Setsuko asked.
"Don't worry about it now." Miki said. She leapt into the air, using her chained wrapped hand to fire off various chains towards Akemi who stood there motionlessly. As the chains tried to wrap around him they were prevented from doing so it looked as if an invisible force was pushing it away from his frame.
"So boring, you won't even be considered a warm up! I knew not to get my hopes so ahead of myself!" Akemi shouted before his body darted off. His speed was incredible, superhuman even. The two girls' eyes couldn't track down where he had went.
Appearing infront of Miki, Akemi pushed his right hand into her stomach, causing her to be thrown around with monstrous strength. It was as if her body was slammed by a train, it was shocking. She zipped off into a tree, crashing into it harshly which caused her to gasp out.
Her body throbbed and ached and something was broken in her body. She felt limp and powerless and when she noticed that Akemi was standing over her with a sadistic smirk her fear began to increase.
Akemi pressed his foot against the pretty face of Miki, pressing her skull against the bark of the tree while he taunted her.
"Come on! Why are you so weak!? I barely touched you!"
Setsuko watched with anger as her friend was being mistreated by such a demon. She clenched her blade and charged toward him, swinging her blade down for his head. With great speed and power she should be able to cut into his skull and kill him.
Unfortunately, there was a grave error, as the blade neared Akemi's head it broke in two. A look of shock was bestowed onto Setsuko's expression, her trusty blade which was used to slay countless demons over her time was simply shattered like it was a twig. Whatever power this male had it was frightening.
"Huh?" Akemi slowly tilted his head to gaze over at Setsuko before he pressed his palm against her chest, sending her flying back much like he did to Miki. The force, however, was more like being hit with a football. When she landed onto the ground she grunted and slowly got up.
"Now, I won't kill you. But, there should be a penalty for your sin. For being stupid enough to attack us on our own home turf. What the hell made you think you could win!? If I just let you go..." He said as he lowered himself to Miki's face, moving his hand to brush a few strands of her hair. "You won't learn from your mistake and what better way is there to learn then experiencing agonizing pain!"

Akemi slammed his foot against her knee, shattering it nearly instantly and causing the woman's face to contort in a grotesque feature as she shrieked in pain and horror. Her body twitched and she clutched at her knee.
"Lovely! Just lovely! Seeing you like this makes me want to call you cute! Still, I'm just not feeling all of the emotion you could be giving!"
"That's enough, stop it! You bastard!" Setsuko yelled as she got back up. Hearing her friend's distorted sounds of pain and misery made her snap. She wasn't going to watch as the bastard had her way with him. She charged forward, preparing to use the broken sword to atleast harm him somehow.
"You're an ant compared to me. Go away." Akemi didn't even look at her, he simply held out a hand and a gust of wind forced her back. Her body slide, kicking up dirt and dust, but she didn't stop she charged at him again.
As she swung the broken blade at him this time that invisible force would shatter it to bits, leaving her helpless and afraid. Akemi sighed before he flicked Setsuko's forehead with his index finger, causing her to fly back across the ground, knocking her off her feet.
"Now, where were we? Kukuku, I'm going to enjoy reducing you into the dog that you are. You'll have to crawl like an infant! Oh, I just came up with a wonderful idea! Tell me what part of you I should break next! If you don't I'll just rip you in half!"
Miki was still whining in pain and could barely speak. She was afraid of what this psychopath might do to her. Tears started to flow through her eyes as she felt like her life could end at any moment.
"That's... adorable! If you think crying is going to save you, you're sadly mistaken! If you want to save yourself tell me what you want broken!"
"I-it hurts, please..." Miki sounded pathetic, her voice reverted into such a timid state that she sounded like a shy girl trying to talk to a boy. Akemi didn't find it convincing though and simply pinched a chunk of her skin from her face.
"I could always peel the flesh from your bones. Kukuku! Shall I give it a try!?"
Eventually the fear was too much for her to handle along with the constant state of pain she was in. Her eyes closed silently before passing out right infront of him. Akemi looked down at her with an angry expression.
"How boring. There's no fun in torturing someone who doesn't respond to it." His head slowly turns to face Setsuko who was struggling to get up. Her eyes were glued on the demon as he started to approach her. Since she couldn't make it off the floor she was going to use every ounce of strength she had to get out of harm's way.
It was like something out of a horror movie. Akemi walked slowly behind her, letting her put as much effort into trying to leave before he stomped on her leg, pinning her in place. With the sudden shock and induced fear she was feeling she couldn't help but wet herself causing the yellow liquid to stain the grass.
"Did you really...? That's fuckin' priceless! You're that scared, how cute!" Akemi shouted at her before he kicked her in the gut, sending her rolling along the grass and laying onto her front as she coughed multiple times before blood flew out from her mouth.
Akemi casually walked towards her, whistling some. "My power is pretty frightening isn't it? I'm sure you both thought you were something special, but, against me everyone's below me. Take that lesson and get out of here while I'm feeling merciful. And remember this scar that I'm about to carve into you."
He bent down near her, grabbing onto her hand with one hand and with the other he gripped onto her index finger and proceeded to force it back as he possibly could until a gritty popping was heard. Setsuko's response was filled with excruciating pain.
"S-STOP! YOU DEMON!" Saying this didn't help her case, instead he went for her middle finger and like the other one wouldn't stop until he heard the signal which echoed into his ears like a symphony.
"Repeat what I say and then I'll let you pick yourself up. Then you can take your friends and never come back here or I'll kill you before you can even realize you're dead." He moved onto her ring finger and following the popping sound was her cries.
"I was foolish to ever dream of being able to scratch Akemi or his family. It only shows how ignorant I am to even attempt to purify them all at once. I swear I will never bother your family again."
She remained quiet besides her whimpering and tearing of the eyes. So to motivate her he moved onto her pinky and snapped it violently. It was as easy as snapping a carrot. "Say it!"
Setsuko was terrified, her body was sweating heavily and fear scarred her eyes. To her this man was an omnipotent being whom she could not harm. She had no choice but to satisfy him by doing as he wished. "I-I was foolish to ever.." She choked on her words and her heart thumped against her chest like a drum. "To ever dream of being able to yo-"
His hand tightened against her arm and if he had applied anymore pressure he would have caused it to burst. She yelped in pain and was wondering what she had done wrong to be punished like this.
"Say my name, bitch. Now start over."
"I-I was..." Her cheeks flushed bright red. She never pictured herself being reduced to such a state and even peeing herself during battle like this. "Foolish to ever... dream of being able to scratch Akemi... it only shows how ignorant I-I am to even attempt to purify them all at once.. I swear I will never bother your family again!" After saying this she would break down in tears and finally Akemi released her arm, letting her hold it in pain.
"Good girl, pfft." Akemi said before he decided to return back to the others. The fight would probably be over now and the victor was obvious for him. Never looking back he left a path of destruction leaving the two girls decimated.

Berodyl stood ready to aid the gods in their strife, but when the time came, the armies of this world never heard the call. They never even saw the battlefield. No. Instead, they found that, once the war had begun, the hierophants no longer heard the whispers of their sacred deities whom they had served so faithfully; only silence now filled the halls of their temples. Some even came from beyond Berodyl’s firmament to take to the sides of those who would fight for the gods. Alas, they soon found themselves stranded in a land abandoned— now, too, abandoned themselves. Now there is but one question weighing down on everyone: can a world such as this - a world once loved, now alone - survive with nought but its own? For an outlander such as Livia, the question seems nearly impossible to answer. The first book of The World The Gods Forgot.

A Fate Shaped by Magick
This fiction was (and is) published on fanfiction dot net under the same title; though as I slowly transfer it to here, I am editing and smoothing it. This story takes place in the Elder Scrolls (TES) Universe mostly ending up in Morrowind. This is a slice of life meant to answer the questions of how (in the TES universe) do mages study and learn, and exploring some of the in-game differences between TES 2 and 3. This book has minimal spoilers for the Morrowind main quest and does not fully explore it. If you think that giant insects would make cool pets - if you like the idea of exploring magic NOT intended simply as killing something better, faster or more gore-ridden, then come on in and enjoy.
