My name is Reid Fraht, and i'm 15 year old this year at Nite High, Today is the entrance ceremony. While other are busy gather at Gym Hall where annual school entrance ceremony. I’m now lying in grass behind the gym hall, not that I like to lazing around, but I just got extra lesson by few of my junior high school student, yes as you could say I was bullied.

Well even like that they only do that because of my childhood friend Ellie Lockhart. She is the number one most beautiful girl in my junior high school, and it seems will be at senior high too. I wonder if there will be additional bullies from this new school, ohh my pitiful days to come.

But as it seem that I already miss the opening of the ceremony I would just wait here till the ceremony finish and go to class, to find all the other requirement during my school progress , while waiting for the ceremony over I close my eye to enjoy the breeze in the morning , that I fell asleep.

After a while I see the time in my cell phone, its indicate 11:00, where I fell asleep for 4 hours, and I don’t even felt that long, but it seems I don’t need to go attend my class briefing anymore since in the schedule the class announcer are until 10:30 where entrance ceremony until 09:30.

So I go to my home, oh yeah I forget to tell you that my home only 20 minute from the school where

the school are located around the mountain top, not that the school are far at top of mountain, there are still long way to the top of school where there are a temple for people to pray in new year and other occasion.

While 11:00 are not the busiest time around here but when I walk home I couldn’t find any other people on the street, so I guess not the time where many people walk around. After a 20 minute walk I found my home sweet home, where it’s not my house but my uncle house, my uncle go oversea to work and he said that I could live in his house as long I could keep the house clean. Not that it would be a problem , since my parents always make me clean my room and having house to clean make me busy while I don’t have any activities.

After I arrived in front of the house, the white 2 story house where the first floor are just living room, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, and living room. With the second floor are 3 room that when my uncle stay with his family, the farthest away are my uncle room, and in front of his room are for his children, but one way or another they don’t blessed with children, and the room in front of the stair are for guess, and that’s where I sleep.

After having a quick shower and dressed from my suitcase, I start to unload all my clothes, yeah I’m just got here yesterday where I don’t have time to set my clothes since I got here at the middle of the night, so after I arrived I just change the mattress and sleep right away since I got here with train,

for you that wonder why I got here so late are, I miss my drop at station at afternoon so when I wake up that I got pass the station, I got no other way than to wait for another train to my uncle place, and after I got to the station I don’t have extra money to get cab and my cell phone run out of battery, and so I couldn’t call my uncle or my parent to ask for pick up, and then I got no choice than to walk to my uncle house, after 2 hour walk and asking around I arrived and exhausted and fell asleep.

So what I do now are tidying my clothes and my book at study table. Then sweep the floor and mop them, since the house are rather big even with vacuum cleaner it still took me two hours, since now around 13:40 I decided to get some lunch, so I go to market to find some vegetable with money that my uncle left me until my parent send me money in few day. They forget to give me credit card.

On the way to the market, I see some aunties talk in groups with faces with worries, couldn’t figure what they saying since I’m not a sociable person I just ignore them, after a while I could see lots of debris across the road, and some blood on the street. Seems like there are big accident around here, but since I didn’t see and I don’t know what really happened I couldn’t seems to worries about them.

After a while buying eggs, rice and some tomato sausage, ham and bread I go back home. On the way back home I could see those people still talk around there and since curiosity get the best of me I go near them and try to listen to their conversation.

auntie 1 : it’s really strange that so many accident to happen at the same time.

auntie 2 : that’s right why does we couldn’t remember what happen back then?

auntie1 : I hope there is nothing wrong with us huh?

auntie 2,3,4,5,6 : Yeah that’s right……….( couldn’t hear any more)

Hmm it’s seem there are something urgent happened? And they all experience them…..

what could go wrong hmm? Well I guess there is nothing I could do about that, after 15 minutes walking I got home and head straight to kitchen and cook some omelet with diced tomato , onion, ham and sausage, ooh my favorite eggs!! When I’m with my mother she never let me make the dish every day, and now I could eat them whenever I want hahahaha, not that I would cook them every day thou… kinda bored if I cook them every day, I guess I will moderate them.

After I finish cooking I go straight to living room and watch my favorite anime that would be aired in 10 minute, but when I turn on the TV all the channel are the same, they all broadcasting news. Hmm I got to things of what aunties back then talking, it seems the conditions are much worst that I thought it is, after a while the anchor start talking

and giving some video of what happen this morning, there are many accident either its car, airplane, and there are all the transportation. This really shocking with so many death count to thousand people and still counting, and it’s not just here it’s all over the world.

To thing something could make this happen it must be something major. But to my surprise it’s not like what I think, which some global terrorism. But the cause are sleep, yes that’s right all over the world having mass sleep, many assumed that there was virus outbreak,

and many other things and there is still no official news from government.

Well seems that the situation much worse than I thought, but then when I was asleep it mean all the student at gym hall also sleep? Or it’s me that awake early than other people?

well I don’t think I could do anything anyway, I guess I will finish my food and play some games with my uncle NtBox, yeah ntbox are newest production from gaming industries, here we could play some games where we play in another reality or another meaning are

So there are many games to choose to play, since I like FPS as for First Person Shooter, or there are VRMMORPG as for Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, but I want to try the FPS game so I choose WarSoldier with realistic sensation where if you got shoot in your body there will be some pinch on the area you got shoot since having real bullet damage in your body seems dangerous the pain reduced safety limit of 10% where people having not to extreme pain but still feel.

After two hours playing I stop and go to bathroom to get some shower and cook some fried rice with sausage and ham. and jump right into the capsule since I tried the FPS now I would like to try VRMMORPG ones but before there are new note from uncle rendy, yeah I forgot to tell that’s what I call my uncle, the note are

Since I separate from my parents the conditions are I need to having my score in the top 10 in my grade, well since junior high school I always ranked one or two.

but since this high school are the top school in the nation the competition should be hard and I got pass on top 10. Not that it would be a problem for me since I don’t engage in sports or any club activities that drain my energy, and I already know what club activities that I would like to get into anyway.

I was shocked and just stand there like an idiot and attract many eyes to me, having embarrassed I go right away from the center but before I could go far, there are some grandpa stand in front of me asking if I’m new and need help, since I just start and don’t know what to do, since I don’t think of looking for information or anything at all, I say yes I’m new and need help

“Uhuk uhuk, yes yes son whats is your name?” asked the elder while stroking his white beard,

“Its Eiden, nice to meet you elder” I say while lowering my head.

“Ohh.., a nice young man aren’t you?” He said smiled “ and you can call me elder Todd”

“ahh alright elder Todd” I say while walking next to him to the water fountain

“hohohoho yes yes, Eiden there are few things that you need to know, if you need some water you could get from the water fountain in few location and the water fountain are like one in front of us” while pointing the fountain with his walking cane.

“ is that so elder thanks for telling me these, and what if I need food elder?”

“if you want food you need to work for it, but for new adventurer you would be having water canteen and few dried beef jerky”

“where can I find these jerky elder?” I ask when I couldn’t find the jerky in my pocket.

“hohoho, of course you won’t find them in your pocket son, try to say or think of inventory” elder Todd say while stroking his beard.

“Inventory” I say out loud, a little too loud I think that I attract some people and they chuckled at my stupidity. Well I couldn’t do anything to that thou, seeing there are one water canteen with full in the right bottom, next to it there are dried beef jerky x 20.

While pondering for a while I ask “ when should I eat it elder Todd?”

With smile elder Todd say “ when your satiety bar dropped son, satiety could be restored if you eat foods and water, but water won’t restoring many times son, since if you are hungry you need to eat food” elder Todd say while walking to the building in the crossroad

“is that so elder Todd, alright what should I do after this elder Todd?”

“Hmm,,” after a while elder Todd said “for starter you could go either work for some people around here, or you could go to training center son.”

“work? What kind of work I could do around here elder?” I ask

"there are many places where you could work for beginner adventurer like restaurant, library, blacksmith, in tailor shop “ if you would like, I recommend that you go to the John Restaurant.” while pointing to the building across the street .

“alright then elder Todd, I will go there.” I said and bowing my head “ thank you elder Todd.”

“you’re welcome kid.” While elder Todd reaching his pocket to hand a letter. “ here for you, give it to John.”

“Give the recommendation letter to John “ would you like to get the letter?”

“alright elder Todd ill give the letter” as I take the blue box disappeared “ once again thank you elder Todd” after say my gratitude I walk across the street and enter the restaurant with the swords crossing each other making X latter and pork in the middle as the emblem, rather weird if I could say. Usually the emblem are kitchen knife and pork or something, but its swords, well I guess it’s the perk of games.

As I enter the restaurant there are two floors with around 20 table at the first floor and around 35 table on the second floor. After a while there are a woman around 20ish with blue hair and pointy ear coming to my direction “ hello welcome to John restaurant, would how many person would eat here?” she ask with sparkling eyes.

While I looking to her ears I heard chuckles from her “ are you new here? What can I help you with?”

I realize that I was looking at her ear too much and getting embarrassed “ yes please, can I see John? I have a letter for him.” I ask while showing my latter which I take from inventory, of course without saying it out loud.

“hahaha, why does delivering letter make your cheek red?” she said teasing me while pointing to the back of stove where there are someone with big build that making food.

I could only giving wry smile “ could I see him now? I ask her” hoping these endless pink hell to end right away.

“Of course you can“ she said while smiling “ but not without saying your name first” she ask while caress my chin. Which make my cheek blush more “ i...t.. t.. its Eiden” I said while stuttering.

She give a big smile “ and nice to meet you Eiden, you could call me Ellain” and patting my head and say “ go ahead and give him the letter Eiden”.

“alright, thank you Ellain.” I said while I walk in hurry to where John are. After a while I arrived next to kitchen door and push them and see John and few other people with same clothing with me, And as soon I enter John see me and walk to me and ask

“what can I help you with boy?” with such big body I stay silent for a while and say

“ I have a letter for you from elder Todd” then I give him the letter.

he smiled and read the letter, after a while he ask me would I like to work in his restaurant?

which I said yes right away. After few explanation what I need to do, since there are enough people in the kitchen I was told to go to the outside to help Ellain, to accept orders and deliver finished foods.

After working 2 hours John call me that there are empty spot in kitchen and ask if I want to work in the kitchen or stay outside. Which I said I would like to work in the kitchen, after changing the outfit with the apron and kitchen hat. Which surprise me, and I work for few more hours.

“hahaha that’s good then, my place would need guys like you for the next 3 days with the festival, would you like to help me around here? I will make your time worth a while” he said while turning some creature wing as big as kite ( around 40 cm wide and 70 length).

“sure I would love to help you” I said while opening the apron and put it to dirty napkin tray.

and say goodbye since my shift are over, while now the time around 21:00 I go to the training center where elder Todd told me.

I would like to see what is it like people training with sword or other weapon. But to my disappointment there are no one here, only one man that see me while he lean back to the wall and then I go toward him. To my surprise he become like other person and ask

“Hey there young lad! Would you like to try weapons?”

“umm I come here to see other people practicing swords or other weapon sir.” I said while looking at his dejected expression. After I see him dejected I felt guilty “anyone could learn here?”

After I ask the question his expression become vibrant again “Of course you can lad! Hahaha what weapon would you like to try?” he ask while suddenly there are box of many weapon that I could use.

“I would like to try the sword first sir” I said with smile on my face afraid making him depressed again.

“sword it is” while suddenly his hand appear wooden sword, which I see there are many of them next to the wall with other weapons too.

As I take the wooden sword “you could try to swing the sword to the scarecrow, and if you need anything you could call me, and call me Rickon.” He said while hitting his chest and laugh and walk behind me.

Well I guess I should start to hack the scarecrow, I swing the sword as I feel right, but after few minutes I felt exhausted, and he say “Lad, would you like to learn how to use weapons?”
