In the outskirts of the forest a young being was making its way across at a slow but safe speed carefully avoiding the dangers that lurk in the forests as well as foraging for supplies.

In his wake he left a small unnoticeable trail of blood and death as he occasionally killed the monsters that crossed his path for food, by always singling out the monsters that he can kill at the same time testing out his new found body and the capabilities of his new found abilities.

Where is the exit to this place, i have been wandering for days on end and yet i cannot see the end to this path. No matter how far i go i am always greeted with the exact same thing over and over again trees upon trees along with the vibrant life of flora and fauna, thought Yami as he was slowly making his way across the forest in small silent steps. carefully brushing aside the vines in his way without a sound.

After some time of stealthily walking across the forest, Yami started to second guess himself, having seen the same sight over and over again without realizing it that it was merely a small part of the magnitude of what the forest truly is.

Is this even the right way out of this forest, i mean i thought i went past this place a day ago ....., nah theres no sign of my symbol on the tree anyway, thought Yami as he closely inspected the tree that he thought he passed a day ago.

This way is probably the correct way out after all i noticed that the monsters within this area is getting weaker and weaker, i could be wrong though, but as time continued and days passed Yami started to become inpatient.

should i just start flying high, or increase my pace of moving .... no that would be stupid remember one shot one kill, there is only one life, i wouldnt want to attract attention in this forsaken forest after all wasnt it the forest of darkness and death. It doesnt hurt to play safe especially in a place like this after all im still as weak as ever just a child...

Although this child was able to kill the monsters lurking in this area, granted that it was usually one at a time and with a sneak attack but never less an impressive feat for a young child to defeat e- ranks while being at f+ rank.

A total of 3 weeks and 2 days has passed Yami was reaching ever so close to the edge of the forest, but suddenly Yami stopped in his tracks, his instincts warning him of danger.

Something is amiss i dont know but i have a bad feeling about this, my instincts was usually correct in the past so i should probably turn back at this point and find a safe place to hide for a while , but what about all my progress .... i have to take risks sometimes as people say no risk no reward .. Having made up his mind Yami continued on through the forest although at an even slower pace than before,, only advancing when he thought the coast was clear.

thump, thump THUMP whats that sound, it sounds like multiple footsteps ... and it sounds like its heading towards my location, i have to hide quick. Yami started to slowly fly on top of a tree avoiding the vines that hanged loosely and the branches of the tree.

I guess this would have to do, at least i can see whats happening. thought Yami as he was currently lying down on top of the tree.

thump, THUMP, THUMP , as the sounds got louder and louder with each passing moments Yami finally spotted the commotion.

Shit, its a horde of monsters what are they doing here, i thought i was near the end of the forest or at least in the f ranks area why is there e ranks here and most of all why is there so many monsters thought Yami, as he spotted types of monsters he had killed before in his journey.

Pondering on the reason as to why the monster horde was coming towards his position and was in a hurry, however everything clicked in place when Yami saw multiple people running away from the horde.

Its those people fault they must have attracted the monsters attention and wrath, they probably did something stupid by the looks of them, since they seem to be amateurs judging from the way they move and their equipment .

I mean do they seriously think they can outrun monsters like that especially if they are weighed down by their gear. the best solution would be to find a good location to hold your ground and fight back as they would eventually fall one by one if this keeps up, they wouldnt even be able to fight back.

Well i guess they get what they deserve for overestimating themselves and not being careful enough, thought Yami as he was watching this from his position on top of the tree.

With each passing moment the monsters slowly started to catch up with the human party, as the party could no longer keep up their pace of escaping. Then it happened one of the members of the party has fallen down, tripping over a rock and in his haste to get up quickly he had entrapped himself.

Unable to move the trapped member, quickly cried for help with tears in his eyes as he can witness the incoming doom approaching rapidly, the teammates hesitated and stopped in their tracks, which happened due to their inexperience and naivety, they wondered should they come back and help their fallen member or should they keep fleeing.

However that hesitation cost them dearly as the monsters was even closer and was now within attacking range. Having no choice remaining, they were forced to stand their ground din an unfavorable position one where they could easily get overrun, the grassy plains within the forest the borderline of the f ranks and the e ranks.

However at that very moment Yami felt a chill run down his spine as suddenly he could see a pair of monster eyes looking straight towards him as if to say i can see you.

this is the chapter with the battle, the group is not the future characters group but rather a naive adventure group that bit off more they can chew. no Yami would not help them out of the goodness of his heart but rahter for his own means, and like yami the brother and sister duo was nearby.
