Mary’s POV

A cheerful young girl was walking around in the village, She was an outsider for that village. From her outer appearance, everyone could tell that her race was a beastman. A pair of black cat ear above her head, her hand was covered by black fur, and a black cat’s tail that was moving around her back. The girl has white light skin, a long straight black hair, her eyes color was brown, and her height was around 167 centimeters. Every man in that village was captivated by the beauty, But no one dared to approached her, she was wearing a novice equipment that covering her slender build. Everyone in that village know that it was not a good idea talking to outsider who using an equipment. Not everyone notice it but there is a pixie-sized woman floating around her, the small woman has the very same white light skin and brown eyes as the beastgirl. but with the combination of long-curly-brown hair and long dress.

“Whoa, Mary looks at those buildings. They’re almost collapsed, this world is so wonderful” Ruka was running toward a destroyed building in the village.

“Ruka, wait for me. I can’t fly that fast” that girls just too energetic, being her Guardian Spirit is so tiring. Why does I get stuck with this girl.

“Mary where are the monsters? I want to hunt some of them” Ruka asked me hastily.

“You have to get your weapon first, try opening the chest in your inventory. And are you sure you didn’t want to do the game tutorial? It was you first time playing game right?” I tried pleaded her to do the tutorial, she’ll be in dangerous situation if she doesn’t know anything about the game.

“Nope, I’ll be alright. Trust you master, beside my friend will help me if I was in a dangerous situation later. He promised me” she patted her chest, she was too confident for her own good.

“But you didn’t even know him, you two just meet in a chat room. You should be careful around those kind of men” how could she trust stranger so easily? All Men are a beast.

“Mary I’ll pick the wooden dagger”

“How could you ignoring me. And wait, the villager said that the monster around this village was strong. It too dangerous to use such close-combat weapon” I tried to warn her.

“Just relax Mary, everything will be fine. Let’s try asking that soldier where the village exit was”

“she just won’t listening to anything I said” I decide to sit on Ruka shoulder and just following her around.

“Mary, The soldier said that the village has three entrances, the northern gate, the western gate, and the eastern gate. We should go to the northern gate, he said it was the closest to the forest” She seem to be very excite about this hunting monster thing.

“Just don’t go die Ruka” I followed her to the village northern gate. There’re a few soldier guarding that place.

“Where’re you going?” one of the soldier stopped Ruka right after they saw her

“Hunting some monster” Ruka you’re too honest, even children know they wouldn’t be given any permission with that kind of excuse.

“Normal person was prohibited from entering the forest” it was then when another soldier came out and whispering something to him.

“Oh my bad, You guys have the permission for enetering the forest, please continue your trip” that suspicious, those guys are planning something

“Ruka, we shouldn’t go to that forest”

“Why Mary? Even though they already letting us entering the forest” Ruka naivety was really something.

“Can’t you see it? Those guys are planning something bad to you” I ended up yelling at her, now I’m feeling guilty to her.

“Why can’t you trust other people? They’re nice people” I could see her teary eyes. Before I know it, she was already running her way through the forest.

“Wait, Ruka!” I lost her, I’ve failed my duty as her Guardian Spirit. But regretting here won’t be good either “I should start searching her”

I entered the forest, following the arrow that pointed at my master’s direction. The forest was dark, and quite. But somehow the atmosphere here was heavy, like there’s something dangerous lurking around this forest. After exploring the forest for a while I could hear Ruka whispering to me “Mary help me!” she was in trouble, I must hurry to her place.

When I reached her location I could see there was some kind of plant like parasite attached to her legs. This thing only can be removed by other player “What should I do, I didn’t have any ability yet” I must do something, if this continue that thing will keep draining her MP and eventually starting to drain her HP as well. It was then when a window suddenly appeared in front of Ruka.

“Ruka, accept it!” I tried to yelling at Ruka,,, keeping her consciousness. Ruka slowly opened her eyes, say it Ruka, just say it.

“I accept it” ruka consciousness was slowly fading away again.

“Ask for his help now Ruka! I’ll find him” I must start searching for that Arlon guy. Just wait for me, Ruka. I leave ruka with that thing in the forest.
