《sHe: THE RISE OF THE NEW BREED (BOOK 1)》Chapter 6

GROUP-H WERE THE LAST ones out. They followed behind Group-C in the hallway outside the gymnasium. Reeves kept observing that every door exit was guarded by a policewoman...
'Why do they need these many uniformed cops, to accompany some couple of hundred boys to go to a police carnival?'
He heard some garrulity from the class-clowns from Group-C up ahead. They were speculating that it may be a recruitment to join the police academy, once they graduate and leave IIRC in the future; Kiki-boy had always wanted to be a cop and many like his buddy Hank, would join too — Reeves figured out that, even Joe would also enrol because he was a good 'rational' follower of any popular crowd.
But Reeves was the dissident. His mind went back into his solo escape mission, after returning tonight from the police carnival visit — and, he hoped to be miles away by dawn.
He looked up ahead, Lucinda Gates handed a document and Tina Martin signed it. Gates shook her hand — and she followed Group-A out of the main entrance door. Tina looked doleful and Reeves wondered why the director was distressed ever since the government women in the suits visited her yesterday — who was that lady anyway?
He then blocked the unrelated thoughts — and was back focusing in finalizing on, how he was going to break into Martin's office later tonight — what if she worked late — he then would be forced to gag and tie her up, before getting the needed information on his record files in her computer. He also needed to rob her of some money because he was impecunious — and then, he would jump over the wall, hop into a Greyhound, and be as far away as possible before daybreak.

Tina Martin now walked back in the hallway, towards Group-H — she then saw Reeves among the boys, and she smiled weakly at him...
She placed her cellphone to her ear, and she pretended to speak into it — she abjured the withheld truth that the boy had wanted to know before, during his visitation to her office in a straitjacket...
"I guess you are right there — life is actually over that orange wall, but if you don't scale it now — you never will. Yes, go find for Laura Jensen in Columbus — yes, Laura Jensen, she is your mother."
Reeves was baffled on the spot — and his legs froze still, grounded after the IIRC director hinted, as she walked passed him — and a Latino Intersexual nudged him from the back, and he walked again. Reeves heard the boy grumble...
"What's with you, man? You are always slowing down."
Sargent Harriet stood there at the main entrance door, and she called out...
"Okay, Group-A! Go out and get on the bus outside — Group-B — you all wait here for your turn..."
His eyes darted around. Reeves was now mentally searching for an exit to egress...
But there were cops everywhere at all exits...
He noticed the large French-window ahead — he focused and he took a few deep breaths, to pump up his nerves. He clenched both his fists tightly...
Tina Martin has given him the needed information that he was desperately searching for — now, he has a mother out there in the free world — and her name was Laura Jensen.
While waiting in torpor with his Group-C, Joe turned and checked on Reeves' group behind. Joe was then nonplussed in seeing Reeves running — and crashed head-on into the French window...

'Fuckin' A, he really did it!'
Joe thought that instance, seeing Reeves falling out from the trashed window. The rest of the boys were all clamouring for the vagary of Reeve's imprudent actions, during the eleventh hour in their visitation to the carnival.
Reeves grew up living an anonymous life in the IIRC, and he was considered to be esoteric to many Wesleyans, who branded him to be an arrogant loner — he was known to be embroiled into unpopular arguments in the past with those around him, and most of all — he was a nobody to them, but until now — he was now seen as the next-Morgan in line.
Reeves was on his fours outdoor, on the ground outside of the campus ground. Dazed by the concussion, after falling out fifteen feet down. Blood was trickling from his forehead. He tried to stand up slowly, but he was still stunned with some mild shock. Everyone else looked at the broken window — they heard from behind, the distressed Sargent Harriet's outcry into her talkie-radio...
"Team 9-er over — one has broken free at the entrance sector — request for an immediate search of the ground, over!"
The policewomen and the rest of the Wesleyan boys then saw the considered-craven Joe, who was the next one, to have boldly bolted towards the same broken window — and he too leapt outside, to their surprise...
Reeves was up on his feet, still staggering, regaining his composure — the midday sunshine outside was blinding bright, and he was squinting, until he sensed an 'eclipse' of the sun coming dark — Joe the clumsy maladroit landing at where he stood — and, knocked him down again from his feet...
They both lolled on the broken window glass shards...
"Joe, what the fuck?"
'Has the rational, fat fuck jumped out — to stop him from escaping?'
Reeves was too foggy to get mad or to hit him back.
Joe then cried out at him...
"Let's go, man, I am bailing out too — and you are not leaving me here alone!"
Joe spied up at the two cops looking out of the broken, French window from above — they were training out with their dart guns. Joe dragged Reeves to his feet, and the shots fired missed them.
They both started running away, while Officer Harriet hollered into the walkie-talkie...
"Team 'bird's nest', over! Two have escaped, and both are coming your way, over — take them out, over!"
*
The Sniper Squad-leader in the roof replied back...
"Roger that, over."
She pointed her finger to signal her team on the opposite roof — and the female SWAT shooters all corked their rifles. Their eyes were into their scopes — they saw the two fast approaching Intersexuals on the run.

MC is strong from the word go and he has a specific goal. He's also learned many skills before the beginning of the novel, so don't expect a murderhobo for levels. That being said, the mc will grow stronger and will have become so strong (not overpowered) by the end of the first book. There are many races besides humans but they are not the main focus of the story, so they will only appear when the plot involves them. This novel is dedicated to the late William Wilberforce. *** I made the cover picture from picart. Original images don't belong to me. If you are the owner and you want it removed just pm me.
