《sHe: THE RISE OF THE NEW BREED (BOOK 1)》Chapter 17

A SLIDE-SHOW presentation was showing photos of women scientists working in the CDC. Reeves was paying attention in his Science class today — because it concerned the Intersexual species' survival into the future — but he also was self-apprehended, that this was just a cursory textbook material, and was not the actual progress at the disease centre.
He noticed that Dr Jane Morris was in some of the photos slides — who was currently the Head of the Control Disease and Prevention Center. Reeves had done some digging up in the past, on Dr Morris in YouTube footage recordings, made before his prenatal existence. The early recordings were when, the epidemiologist scientist proclaimed to the world about the congenital freaks of nature — who would survive only a single generation — in her interview with Oprah...
Reeves had seen it repeatedly, so many times over — that sprung more of his thoughts of freedom, and escape...
The school bell rang, and the Science teacher, Miss Freda Mitchell's voice was heard in the darkened classroom. "Okay, turn on the room lights. For your homework, read up more on CDC and I will pop-quiz you all in our next class."
All the murmuring students began to stand up and started to leave the classroom. Miss Mitchell called out again...
"Reeves, stay back — and you too, Joe — I want to have a word with you both."
Reeves froze with the thoughts of embroil...
'Why the both of us!!?'
'Did Joe tell Ms Mitchell about his intention of escaping from Wesleyan???'
The teacher held up two sheets of paper, looked at both the boys, and she surmised...
"I see that the assignment on Madame Curie is quite identical in both of your works — with just some minor tweaks here and there, but overall — the points given are alike — so, I am failing you both, because I don't tolerate cheating and dishonesty in my class.

"Hey, listen smartass, I have an eye for details from my 20 years of teaching — so who copied whom? Come on, spill it out."
Reeves was relieved for the moment that he was not ratted out, but at the same time he was also puzzled — he spoke out first and exculpated...
"I — I did not submit that."
The teacher still wanted the anonymous incognito, to step up and admit — even though she knew by the quality of the assignment, that it was more of Joe's doings — but yet she questioned the more erudite Reeves...
"So you copied Joe's work then?"
Tension built up inside Reeves. He stared intensely at Joe when the fat boy soon started confessing out softly...
"Actually Miss Mitchell, I submitted his assignment to you —without his knowledge."
Freda Mitchell knew Reeves as the brainy backbencher, who was an unguided potential that would succeed in class if he showed more zest in his studies...
But, it was not her role here to nurture any protégé — but, more to didactic the 'test-subjects,' with the proposed textbook knowledge, in following the syllabus system set up — so that the research system could meet the IIRC requirements and objectives of the facility's study in the Behavior and Intelligence — of these 'contained' Intersexual subjects...
But as a teacher, Freda Mitchell was also slightly thwarted at that moment — when knowing that Reeves had not completed his assignment for the first time in her class...
She then questioned Joe...
"Why would you do that?"
Reeves had to speak his mind too — but, he was too choler to think straight at that moment...
"Yeah, you asshole! Why did you do a shit like that? Haven't I warned you the last time, not to interfere with my life!!?"

Reeves was then caught up emotionally, with his building into an acerbic rage — the moment, when Joe went on and defended his cause of action...
"Hey, I was just looking out for you, man!"
"Then, look out for this!"
Reeves snapped and he threw a sucker punch at Joe's face — that caused him to fall back, on some desks behind. The science teacher screamed out at the paroxysm that spurred in her classroom...
"Stop! Reeves, what are you doing!!?"
"Something I should have done a long time ago — to not let others dictate my life — nor, anyone making any damn choices for me!!!"
Reeves had lost it by then — he released the rebellious beast out from within himself, by overturning the teacher's table next.
Freda Mitchell ran screaming out of the classroom, seeking for security assistance — while Reeves dived right at Joe who was on the floor. Joe kicked him back like a mule — and the smaller framed Reeves was thrown back in the air before he crashed his back on some desks...
Two security guards entered the class to see the punch-out altercation...
Both Reeves and Joe were on their feet, both were trading sparing blows and kicks at each other.
Joe tripped and fell on the floor again...
Reeves dropped on him and repeatedly punched the bigger Joe on his face. A Black, hefty security guard moved in fast — and she shot pepper-mace on Reeves' face.
He yelped in pain with stings in his eyes...
Blinded, but his fist was still buffeting with instincts — pounding-downs onto Joe's face in hatred.

“It was the race of the century. Millions upon millions of participants lined up at the thousand miles long starting line. The tension and excitement permeated the air like a thick miasma. They call me the devourer of the hidden, discoverer of secrets, and the destroyer of the unknown.
