《The Hero Transfered Me In Another World》23 - City of Mir

*Yawn*
Yukio who was beside me was yawning out of boredom. This would be the fourth day of travel.
Nothing unusual happened after the thieving incident. It was smooth sailing on that point onward. The Miracle Flower has done its job of repelling any creatures that could be a problem in our trip.
We have met some passersby but no one has any bad intentions. There was even a merchant who bought all of the staves we have stored.
Unknowingly during the time after the incident, Bosu has collected all the equipment the group of thieves had. He was able to store them in the spatial ring he talked about.
He gave us a portion of the quick profit he got from selling the equipment because we're the ones who did the work. So currently I have 2 golds in my pocket and more to come after we complete our job as an escort.
Yukio who was whistling because he was bored decided to polish his partner to kill time. I have given him some pointers as a man of the sword to improve his swordsmanship. The things I taught him were basics but it was enough to build a proper foundation of he wants to continue using swords.
"Silva, can you give me some warm water."
He asked for such a request because he was planning to wipe the dirt off on the blade of his sword.
[Create Water] - [Fireball]
I produce a small amount of water and heat it using a small fireball.
I'm glad to say that I have successfully cast a water spell even if it's the most basic. I was able to do it ever since the day after the incident when I was reflecting my fight with their leader who was a water mage. Being bombarded with water spells during rain has truly helped me comprehend my water element.
I now understand three elements at the basic level but I still can't depend on it during fights. There were also no signs of improvements to the other elements. I may know dark, fire, and water magic spells but unfortunately, even the weakest novice mage would be better than me in their respective element.
Although another thing I learned from the fight was the incorporation of two elements or more. This has been more impactful than casting my first water spell.
An example of this is what I just did. Creating warm water out of fire magic and water magic. If I was better at water magic, I could produce water at any temperature. But for this time, I need to adjust and create it through other ways.
This discovery of incorporation of elements had me excited for the academy of magic. Although at the same time, it made me worry more about the selection test.
There were two reasons why I was worried about it. First, I don't know whether my trip would be worth it and pass the test. I have zero ideas about the kind of test we would be taking. Second, if we can reach there in time.

Yukio also worries that we won't be able to reach there in time and take the test. There was no exact time when the test was going to start although it is most likely very early. All of these worries because we have been delayed by half a day because of the incident.
We even asked Bosu if we could take the reins and continue traveling the whole night. He accepted and chosen to take a short break before he gave his position to us.
We just ate our meals and immediately went back on our path. This time, Bosu was sleeping in the carriage while Yukio was on the reins. We decided among ourselves that we would exchange positions so one could rest while the other drives.
I could be awake for the whole night but Yukio convinced me not to do so. That's why Yukio was on the coachman for the meantime while I'm going swap with him when he's tired which was sooner than I expected. Drowsiness hit him real quick. It would be the same if I was the one driving in the first place.
Through the silence of the night, I was driving the carriage on the peaceful plains. It looks like this would be another day without any problems.
The scenery change after hours of untroubled travel. There were more traces of people's activity in this place. From the horizon, I could see a tall wall with some illumination on the top of it. This is the first mark that we have finally reach the city of Mir. With our speed, we would reach the city after the sun has completely risen.
I woke up Yukio and Bosu who was snoring loudly at the back. I told them that we are were close to our destination. Bosu swap places with me since he needs to be the one who will prove his identity in the entrance. It would be more convenient in that way rather than letting the guards check inside the carriage for any anomalies.
"Oy, I wasn't able to ask this but what's your purpose for coming to Mir?" Bosu asked when he sat on the horse.
"We're going to try and enter Asmodai," Yukio answered.
"Oh, it's that time of the year again. So you're going to enter the selection test, huh. I've got some connection with some people in their and I could use my family name for your cause."
'That would make our life easier.'
When I heard his offer to help our chances of entering Asmodai, I wanted to immediately accept it. However, Yukio gunned me down and replied first.
"We appreciate your offer to help Bosu-san but we want to enter most fairly. Our reason for entering Asmodai would be pointless if we can't pass with our strength."
"That's an admirable attitude. Ok, I won't bother anymore but if you need any help you can always find me at our family manor. We, Umada's, are pretty well known. Just say my name then I'll come and try to help you with your problems."

I can't talk now and accept Bosu's help after Yukio just rejected the offer. It would be rude to both of them. All of my worries would be gone if we just take the offer but Yukio also has a good point for not taking it.
Bosu went on and talked more about the places and things we need to remember when we are in the city. I listened half-heartedly because it seems like Yukio already knows these things.
We're already near the door of the city so we prepared ourselves. Looking it up close, the walls are much higher than I expected. Bosu said that these walls were created for protection against the waves of monsters who invade this city.
There was a line of carriages entering and leaving the gates within those walls. Today was a busy day because of the test that will happen today.
We queued and waited for several minutes before the line was seen moving. Yukio beside me was getting anxious because it is uncertain if we could reach in time with this queue.
'It would be funny if Yukio accepted Bosu's offer after his speech just because we're late for the test.'
Meanwhile, I took my mind somewhere else and observe the mages who were also in the line.
There were a lot of mages who are already well dressed and equipped. It was a different feeling compared to the thieves we fought. Like myself back in my world, these people seem to have not yet experienced any cruelties in battle. They appear innocent without any traces of bloodlust within them.
That's how I observed them at first but when I tried gauging their strength as a mage, I can't gauge anybody. It appears to be I'm the weakest mage here.
When it was almost our time to enter, there was a sudden an argument erupted in front of the line.
"How dare you disrespect my family name!"
"You're already a ridiculing your family with how weak you are. If you're already the best your family can send, then they don't deserve to be respected."
"Take that back you..."
"ENOUGH!"
A loud voice interrupted their argument. It carried a strange power that forced everyone who has heard it to listen.
"If you're only going to stand there and waste everybody's time, then both of you should go home. I don't need people who get worked up over little things."
"We're sorry, senior professor."
The scene ended just like that. I was able to catch a glimpse of the person who stopped the conflict. She was a young woman who emits a noble feeling. On the back of her cape, there was a symbol of a sheep wearing a crown.
I asked Bosu who that was but he only knows that person is a high ranking mage in Asmodai.
After that person left, the line continued moving normally and it was finally our turn.
"Entrance fee."
The soldier who was assigned to the gate asked for our entrance fee. Bosu took something from his pocket but it wasn't money. He showed something to the soldier and it surprised him.
"Welcome back, Bosu-sama." The soldier saluted politely.
"That's enough, we're in a hurry so can we move on."
"No problem, Bosu-sama. You can enter immediately."
There didn't check the back of the carriage anymore. Bosu's identity has gained the attention of the people at the line. This made me realize how big shot Bosu really is.
With no complications at all, we finally got inside of the city.
The houses and structures here are much larger in scale compared to the cities back in my world. The streets were busy with carriages and people walking. From afar, I could see a castle that is clearly one of the most important structures here. We could take weeks before we can walk every part of this city.
I had my whole body covered with the long robe I am wearing and hide my face with the hood. It was because I don't want any unnecessary attention because of my unique appearance. Many mages did the same so it's not unusual.
"This is where we part. Just go straight here and you can see the academy. It would be obvious because of the number of people who will be gathering there."
"Thank you Bosu-san." Yukio bowed gratefully while I did the same.
"You also did your job of protecting me so I'm also thankful. And before I forgot, here is your pay."
Bosu passed me a bag filled with coins.
"You can always find me if you're in trouble. I will always help a brother out."
Bosu left with those parting words. Yukio and I bowed deeply until Bosu can't be seen. He was truly a good person who helped us in our way.
We're finally going to take the test. From the looks of it, the test hasn't started yet because there were a lot of people still coming. Although we didn't take any chance and ran to the direction Bosu pointed.
No matter how I look at it, there's really a lot of people here and it looks like everyone has the same purpose. It would be a difficult day since Yukio and I will have a lot of competitors for this selection test.

Surely he's never seen legs like mine, with his sex crimes he's probably used to seeing long, thin, sexy legs, while mine are short, strong, but stubby. "What do you want?" I snarled.
