《The Hero Transfered Me In Another World》12 - A Month Later

In the castle where the Emperor of the demon lives in, there was a grand feast currently happening. Numerous Kings and nobles from different Houses were in attendance at the celebration. A celebration that only happens once every century.
*Ting~ ting~ ting~*
A refined looking elderly man was tapping on his glass to gain the attention of everyone present.
"May I have everyone's attention."
It only took a few words for everyone's focus to be on him. From the audience's standpoint, he was clearly respected by everyone attending, even the nobles. It was because he was N'cla, the King of House Baal, and the father of the current Emperor."
"I'll start by saying how unfortunate it was to what happened to the Emperor Candidate of House Beleth. He was supposed to be the one standing here with us today but due to unexplainable events, he suddenly vanished in this world."
King N'cla tried to be sympathizing but everyone in this event knows he is the happiest demon here.
"But today we celebrate for my son, Emperor N'rva, for he will become the leader of all demons and lead them to unachievable greatness."
The crowd applauded as they welcomed N'rva who was entering with the dignity of an Emperor.
"Bow down for the 13th Demon Emperor of Esirat."
"We greet you, our Emperor." Every single demon bowed down on the presence of their Emperor.
...
Away from the event, a veiled woman was watching the celebration somewhere where no people could be seen. She was sitting alone in the dark while the sound of eating resounded. She seems to be talking to herself at first but occasionally, a mysterious voice will reply to her.
"So he's the Emperor, huh."
"N'rva from the House of Baal. He was one of the last Candidates standing during the Battle for the Throne. He may have not won it but he still became the Emperor in the end." The voice in the background explained.
"Thanks to me, of course. They should reward me when I visit them... But I still wonder what happened to that guy."
"The Defect from the House of Beleth?"
"Hmm. I'm sure he didn't die with my stab alone, especially for a demon. Those guys are very tenacious I tell you.
I also made sure he lived it because I was planning to play with him a little bit but I didn't get the opportunity. He suddenly vanished in front of me."

"Don't worry about useless things. We still have a job to do."
"Yes, yes. I'm on it, Boss."
"I don't want any unexpected factors like it again. Not finishing him and confirming his death may bite us back soon. For now, it looks like the assassination was swept under the rug but if you do the same thing in the future, expect your life as done.
"I just want to ask boss, why is their Emperor such a big deal that Kings of every House have all agreed to kill him?" The veiled woman asked after finishing the bread she was eating.
"I guess it won't hurt explaining to you. This may also be useful information for your future tasks...
As long as history can remember, Humas and Demons have already at ear ever since. With the help of Gods we worship, Humas were able to almost exterminate every demon walking on this world. However, at the brink of extinction, mysterious beings from the place they called Hell suddenly appeared and turned the tide of the war. They are being that were on par with our Gods and they call themselves the Rulers of Hell.
When the first Ruler of hell descended the land of the demons, he gave them blessings just like our gods. Although, the blessing was only for an individual who will lead his followers to victory and prosperity. He was the first King that was ever recorded."
"I thought you were gonna say the first Emperor." The veiled woman interjected.
"I'm not there yet. Be patient"
She was reprimanded by the mysterious voice who continued the story.
"The first King was able to gain victories but it wasn't enough to change the tide of the war. Seeing this, multiple more Rulers have come out of Hell and provided their blessings. Now they were nine Kings, the war was finally at a stalemate but the problems of the demons weren't done yet. Having nine Kings means a conflict of power to whoever will be on top of who.
Given that the Gods and Rulers have limitations whenever they act on this realm, the Rulers weren't able to stop the war among the demons themselves. It reached the point where Humas were able to take advantage and take back their reign. It was only when the Overlord of Hell decided to come up this realm did everything change not only for the demon but also for the war against us Humas.

The Overlord of Hell, Jedidiah, has bestowed an individual to have the ability to stop all conflict on the demon side of things. This individual became the First Emperor, the King of all Kings. Every single demon, with no exception, can't oppose any decision their Emperor could make. No demon could also directly hurt their Emperor in whatever circumstances. That's why we were hired to do the trick.
In the case of the current situation, the Kings of every House have decided it was enough to be under someone. They plan to take their authority back by having a puppet Emperor for them. The instance of the Defect winning their carefully organized tournament was an obstacle for their plan. We accepted to clean up their mistake since it is also an opportunity to start another war with Humas in the favor.
The demons are considered to be battle maniacs but they are mostly known for a race to pursue power before everything else. That's why they could plan to kill their very own Emperor just to have their power even it means losing the greater war."
"ZzZzz" The voice was replaced by the loud sound of snoring.
"Were you even listening."
"zZz- AH! ah, yes. When the Rulers and Gods fight."
"I didn't even mention that... Nevermind, just do your job and I hope in the next report, it will all be good news."
The voice faded into the darkness and only the presence of the veiled woman was left.
"Tsk~ He's the boss but I can't believe how much he can talk."
*****
It was another peaceful day for the Kingdom of Audraviel. A busy time for the people of Dawnshire City. People could be seen interacting with different stalls and shops around the corner. Countless horses and carriage were roaming the streets carrying passengers of different status.
Amid everything, a man was sitting by the window and looking at the view of the city from the tallest tower in the whole Kingdom.
"NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!"
Someone was running towards the top of the tower while shouting with his lungs out. No one seems to have been bothered by him even though he was loud as a glass breaking in the middle of dawn. For the people inside of the tower, this occurrence was a normal routine.
The tower was at least the size of twenty commoner's houses stacked on top of one another but it only took a few minutes before the man screaming reaches the top.
"REINOLD! REINOLD! REINOLD! Have you heard the news on the demon side? I've heard the winner and the rightful successor of the throne was killed and now they announce they just crowned their new Emperor."
"I know."
The man named Reinold, or more known as the Hero of Sword, replied calmly as if he already knew the whole story was.
"You don't seem to be affected by it. I expected you to be one of the few people who will be excited about this news." The messenger said with a dejected expression.
"Your news was quite late actually. I believe it has already been more than a month since their previous Emperor has allegedly died and I'm talking about the Candidate from the Beleth. And by the way, he is still alive you know.
"HOW DID YOU KNOW!" The messenger replied with a shocked face.
"Sigh~ and I've tried so hard just to get this information first. You've got some secrets, don't you? Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!"
The messenger tried to get answers by being a nuisance but Reinold didn't mind him. He went silent for a minute when he saw him ignoring him completely. Although, he tried to move erratically one last time to gain his attention.
"Hey! Hey! Hey.... You're the worst Hero! I won't share any of my exclusive news anymore. with you"
Seeing he doesn't have any plan to talk at all, the messenger dissed him and ran out of the room wailing.
"Hahaha. He's noisy as always"
Reinold went staring back outside of his window while reminiscing about something. The harmonious life of the community could be seen from his position. But unlike the view, his thoughts were far from being tranquil. It was because of the same news the messenger just told.
"It has already been a month since you've moved to the other side. I wonder how you're doing back there. The world back there may be far different from here but I believe you are perfect for it."
