《The Hero Transfered Me In Another World》5 - World of Magic

*Smack*
A light slap on my face was enough for me to gain my consciousness back. I swear if the first thing I saw is the old man's face, I'm gonna beat the crap out of him.
Fortunately, the one who woke me up was someone new. She seems flustered over the fact that I opened my eyes and caught her doing whatever she was doing. Well, if you're slapping an unconscious stranger, you've got some explaining to do.
So I observed her and check whether she had any bad intentions. Considering the people I met lately, it never hurts to be careful.
She looks rather simple yet charming looking girl. She was a short woman with long, black hair neatly combed, and she had hazel brown eyes full of innocence. She gave an impression of someone who is shy but has an air of friendliness. It was cute seeing her not knowing what to do though I should probably say something first.
"So what were you doing?"
When she heard me speak, I gained her attention as she was able to get hold of herself.
"I'm sorry. Jo-san has instructed me to check if you're okay. He said that he may have gone too far though he also said you deserved it."
"Damn that crazy old man. He got some issues."
"Jo-san might act like that but he is a good guy.
"No good guy throws fire on someone who is injured..."
'Wait a minute... What did I just say?' A big question mark appeared in my head.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Miss-".
"You can call me Shimomura or Shiki depends on what you're comfortable with."
I just realized that I don't know her name yet, and if I remember correctly, the one she calls Jo Shiro is probably that crazy old man
"Miss Shimomura. Did the old man Jo burned me alive?"
I tried to confirm whether what I just saw was real. A man creating fire from his hands. If I didn't experience it first hand, I can never imagine it happening. Burn marks should still be left but they mysteriously disappeared. It's the same with the potion earlier. She must have used it on me again. That would mean I wasted another one of their valuable possessions.
Shimomura seems to notice I was looking for burn marks. So I heard an exclamation coming from her before she starts explaining.
"If you're wondering where what happened, I healed you with my Light Magic. It may not be as effective as the potion used earlier, but it could handle light wounds."
"Light Magic? What is that?" I asked Shimomura and she showed her palm covered with a glint of silver light.

"I have a suspicion that you were unfamiliar with these things when Jo-san shared how you went crazy for a potion. I presume you don't know what magic is."
I went on and listen to what Miss Shimomura has to say. But before she was able to get to the main point, she asked for my name, where I came from, my history, how I got here, and many more. Basically, she interviewed me. Strangely though, she never heard the Demon Realm and the Kingdom of Esirat. In a matter of fact, she also doesn't know the Kingdom of Audraviel, the capital of the Humas Realm. So where the hell am I?.
Also, she now calls me Silva because for some reason she can't pronounce S'lva. Well, Silva is better than the other names she called me.
As she went on and know more about me, the looks she gave me became weirder and weirder. She looks at me like someone who doesn't know what he is talking about. Nevertheless, she still went to the main point of our discussion.
"What is Magic you ask. Hmm~~
How can I explain this?
Ah, Let's compare it to this bottle right here."
"When we are born, we are just empty bottles waiting to be filled with this 'World's Essence.' These essences are always present in anywhere we go through the form of Spirits. As we grow up, we slowly absorbed these essences and fill up the bottle within us. The size of the bottle a person. have will depend on many factors such as their bloodline and their environment of birth. Wealthier people have a clear advantage when it comes to these factors. But this doesn't mean all Grand Magus came from the rich, there are some special cases.
One could also increase their bottle size on their own. There are multiple ways of achieving this, the most common is a simple meditation technique. Though, basic techniques can only achieve much. That's why Prestige Schools of Magic are popular even among the nobles as they teach specialized lessons fitting for your attributes.
And speaking of attributes, there are six Elements of Magic an individual could develop in their lifetime. Fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness. Each element is self-explanatory except for the last two. For Light Magic, you can take my healing magic as an example. And for Dark Magic, I don't know very much, but what I know is that people who walk the path of Dark Magic are disdain by many."
"The one used by the old man was Fire Magic, right? And Light Magic has the ability to heal? Wait a minute, that's a lot of information to take in." I replied after a long time of listening.

What she was saying seems to be common knowledge among their people. If Magic is what she says it is, people from the Demon Realm or Humas Realm should have been using it. Unless...
I don't want to think of this possibility but as I hear more and more, the chance I'm still in the world I know becomes less and less. All of these make a lot of sense if currently, I'm not in Esirat or Audraviel or any place in my world.
'But how in the world was I transferred here? Did I reincarnate? No, that's not possible. I still have a wound.
"Hehe~ That was just the tip of the iceberg. Magic is more complicated than you imagine." She chuckled lightly while I was in the middle of my contemplation.
She went on and continued with her lesson although, I wasn't paying attention anymore. I was busy thinking ways of going back if my hypothesis about this being a different world is true.
Of all possible ways I can think of, the newly introduced concept of Magic was the most plausible. I want to ask whether Magic is capable of such thing but I hesitated after seeing how Miss Shimomura was too focused on teaching. I felt sorry for her since I'm long gone in her lecture. Thankfully though, she asked for any clarifications midway through so I was able to throw in my concern.
Nevertheless, I should still be careful when approaching this subject. I don't want to freak her out when I say I'm not from this world since the idea of having different worlds is probably unprecedented even in this world.
So I subtly asked, "Is it possible for Magic to transfer people from one place to another?"
It took time before Miss Shimomura responded. Her reply gave me answers but created more questions.
"I never saw or heard anyone having Magic of such kind, but I once read a book that may be close to what you depicted. It stated a seventh Element, Space Magic, which was theorized by a Magus in the old times. Though, it was the only record of Space Magic I know of."
"If there was a Space Magic, why did you only said six Elements a while ago?"
"It can't be considered as one since no one has grasped it. Besides, the record was made a few hundred years ago. I doubt any other records have any evidence of Space Magic. If there was, Grand Magus from all over the continents should have been using it."
"Why are you interested in Space Magic and how did you know about it, Silva-san?"
I only nodded with silence because I don't want to give any clues about my true identity. I still don't know if Demons are accepted in this world, but I won't risk anymore asking. I said and asked enough strange things to make me suspicious.
'That reminds me, I should try later if I still have a connection with Beleth.'
Shimomura noticed how I don't want to talk about so she didn't pry any further. She checked me out for any injuries for the last time before she fixed the things she brought.
"Ok, that's enough for today. You should rest a little bit more before you can go out. I left some clothes near the mirror since yours was a mess."
"Thank you."
I was left alone with many thoughts going on in my mind. It feels pretty surreal given how everything fell into places. I don't know what to believe anymore.
I do what Shimomura told me to. I rested for a few minutes before I change into the clothes given to me. A darkish blue tunic covered with a linen jacket paired with brown pants. Surprisingly, it fits me very well even though I never these types of clothes ever since I was in the House of Beleth. I look myself through the mirror and damn do I look good. I prefer simpler clothes like these than the stuffy ones. It makes you move easier and more comfortable on my balls I say.
Recalling something, I spoke softly in front of the mirror,
"I give myself to the Almighty Ruler of Hell, Beleth...INVOKE"
My attempt to transform into my Demon Form was to no avail. Nothing changed in my appearance. The usual red grotesque skin I have every time I invoke is nowhere to be seen.
'Weird. I feel some connection with Hell but nothing is happening.'
It feels the same but different at the same time. I am sure it is still Hell I'm connecting with but it feels empty though. Like my connection with Beleth has been severed.
It may be a good thing since I'm never truly a descendant of the House of Beleth, but I feel naked without any form of demonic power. I'm back again at being a third-rate Demon.
Although, my demon problems are not a priority for now. There are a lot of things I need to know and understand first. Maybe I could start asking Shimomura to teach me Magic. It would be ideal if I could also learn about the history of this world. I may find some clues on how to return.
I took too much time already just thinking. I require a change of scenery or else I'll go crazy in here. So I guess it's time to step out and get some fresh air.

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy
