Before we was a simply tree. Ok calling it a simply tree was without a doubt a lie.
“ so you want me to steal a book do you. Is that all” me
“ I will not lie. You do not have a good chance of success but when you convene with the others who are here with you here you will find a that your task is the easiest. Oh and make no mistake your task is to steal the book from the heavens then return here with it”
The air reeked of rot and decay as the thing spoke. Honestly I’m quite glad I can’t smell but it’s odd that I can determine somethings smell in my current form. Hmmm it actually quite an out of body experience. Should I ask how that works I’m quite curious?
“ And in turn you will answer one of my questions here and one and another when I return” Me
“ Yes that is my intention number three”
“ well I have a few inquiries about the job that you have intended for me and I’m sure someone as resabal as yourself wouldn’t mind if we concluded these inquiries as simply me inquiring about the job before me” me
“very well but I maintain the right of silence for would I be the god of secrets if I held no secrets of my own”
“ What are the context in the book? What is it about? And of course what is it’s name?” Me
“ Two sum it clearly so you can understand my predicament I have not the sighted clue. I simply know that I will be able to tell you more when you, sorry if you were to ask your question here . Arrr you thought you a hint the book is a small black book that could probably fit in your hand the book is titled the song of fate. Ahh and before you ask it’s keep safely inside the box known as pandora. As for the location of the box itself I know not it’s location other then it stays in heaven.”

Hmmm it seems this form is capable of migraines. And what does she mean stays in heaven.
“ So you want me to steal something but you don’t know where it is or who owns it right?”
“ That’s, correction I do know know where it is but that does not mean I do not have a lead”
“ oh please tell”
“ I know that the box was stolen from the god king by the god of madness but most know him as the king of the mad or the king of madness”
“ I’m sorry those names are new to me god king not god of kings and a god of madness since when have these god exists”
“ hahahahahahaha I have forgotten silly me. O don’t look at me like I’m mad and more to the point don’t look so mad.”
I’m a faceless construct I don’t have a face to look mad.
“See girl it been over 17 thousand years since your death and the deaths of the other three give or take a couple hundred years but still a long time has passed and the knowledge that you existed had long since pasted as did the age of darkness.”
That’s a lot to take in.
“The age that followed was known as the age of peace and was brought around by the man who kill you. He is now known as god king for after his rise to power at the end of the age of peace against the chaos gods. It was a bloody war that traveled over two ages the age of war and the age of gods. During the age of war many patrons died in fact almost all who were branded chaos and any order who did not kneel before the god king. The god king even slew his own daughter when she fell in love. The chaos god who survived well lead to hell by .”

“ you?”
“ They came to my sister the former god of death the one who is now known as the spider. In the hope she could slay him. Fearing her might the god king launched an assault on hell where they have sealed me and my sisters to this day. After both sides tired from the war came to a temporary truce so both sides could recover however. That ended the age of the war and started the age of god where the god of order used source to increase their numbers and the gods of chaos have since gone into hiding. However a new threat rose up. An angel came to me and ask for a way to free his people. Where they were seen as a valued tool I The time before the god king he has once more remind them that they were made to be slaves for the gods. I granted him the strongest power knowledge. I heard he confronted the god king twice and it can back a draw both times but order still hold the advantage. After the age of the gods it’s was the age of fire but now that age will come to an end soon and I am determined to help shape the new one. That should inform you of the current state of affairs”
What no. How? Who? What? Where? When ? Why? Haaaaa what am I supposed to do with that and you still haven't told me about who the god of madness is and where he comes into the picture or formatter how the fuck am I supposed to find him.
“ What of this god of madness where am I too find him” me
“O you won’t”
What? Why did you stop their you go off on a tangent about the history of the 100 thousand years after I die but tell me nothing of the 7 thousand years after. I don’t know how much of that is relevant. And now what is this. I have a lead that you can’t use.
“ can you explain why I’ll never meet him?” Me
“ what the point of a lead you will never use of course you’ll meet him”
I gonna fucking stab you!
“ I said you would never find him not that he would never find you”
“ And why would he seek me?”
“ secret”
Your dead. Fucking dead!
“ I see” me
“ now the it's time you asked me your question and be on your way”
“ Then what is magic and mana?”

Blood Seekers -- The Monolith
Blood Seekers - Book 1, is now on Amazon, including the final chapters not posted here! https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07MYJ5ZRC “You will die!” That's what the developers of Blood Seekers promised them... The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. Set in a gothic, Lovecraftian world, with fully realized A.I. NPCS, gamers were desperate to get their hands on the new game and dive in, and Clay was one of them. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark! I will be posting chapters here until the book is done and published on Amazon!

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Thanks!
